I don’t make any assumptions about the future.  NFL greatness is fragile and transient.  So just enjoy it for now…but wow…when was the last time Philadelphia sports had a rookie sensation?

Probably Cox. Not playing as well as Carter is but he was still impressive.

Probably right.  And he was incredible for the Phils…but also didn’t quite have the career so many were expecting when he was a rookie.

He was good but I wouldn’t put him in the "sensation” category

Wasn’t he like 27 as a rookie? I don’t know if that counts.

He looks built like a 1990s LB out there, not a DT.

Jalen Carter is way ahead of schedule, Aaron Donald lvl

He won ROTY in 06 then MVP in 07. But yeah he seemed to gradually decline after that.

He was pretty old till he made it to the bigs, but he won mvp and a ring - not sure you can ask for much more

He won rookie of the year…

DeSean was pretty electric in 08.

DeSean Jackson?

In hockey, Lindros was the last one.

Would Quez have caught that TD pass to OZ?

The block was quick to stick him to the bench with every bargain bin safety signing this offseason and drafting Sydney Brown.  I was real big on him coming into this season after how good he looked last season.  Eagles future at that position is bright with him and Brown.  Roseman has done an incredible of adding a lot of good young players on defense.  He did what I had been wanting for years and feared he wouldn't be able to do.

You can thank him missing on Justin Jefferson. It really feels like since then he's evaluated talent completely differently.

Simmons won ROY too 🤮

Yeah, but he was already near his prime years as a rook.

That's fair. I feel like we almost never play rookies consistently on any of our teams so it's pretty rare lol

No

I hate the OC

I'm not a fan yet but Hurts has made 2 terrible throws for picks right to defenders through 2 1/2 games.

AJ has 2 TDs called back or negated due to a stupid nothing penalty followed by a no call and another 40 yard pass that he bobbled.

None of that is on the OC.

The offense still feels like preseason but the blame can be spread around IMO.

If you are saying that at 10 carries for 58 yards they need to be more run heavy in the 2nd then I absolutely agree.

If teams are going to play edge to defend the Hurts option then the OC should have them run up the middle for 250 every week.

It is interesting that all Philly franchises have consistently demonstrated a reluctance to play rookies.

The correct answer is AI

I don't think Lane had the best first half.

12/21 in the first half is not good enough. Gotta be better

Interesting. Makes it weirder that we're not sticking run heavy then.

They're actually totally different players. I like Carter's game better. Aaron Donald out athletes people. Super strong, super fast, and doesn't actually seem to have a lot of moves.

Carter on the other hand, he is equal parts athletic and technician. That is an extremely EXTREMELY dangerous combination longevity wise. He is so quick and his hands are so accurate too. It was honestly SHOCKING watching some of his cuts for the first time. I was like "I've seen edge rushers with less pass rush moves. He's like a 315 pound defensive end with defensive end speed.

Not saying he's better than Donald, he's not. I just think Carter's game as long as he puts in effort is actually more stable regardless of eventual athletic decline.
