He is? Seems like there's not much of a sample size to say this

In the pre-season and vs. the Vikings he had no burst. TBF to him, he might not be fully recovered from last year's injury.

Gainwell should still get a lot of snaps. Swift is small and you can't give him a 75% snap share.

IMO, the bigger problem is Boston Scott being out. Penny is bad, so we need Scott to get some of Gainwell's snaps. Scott goes down on contact too easy, but he can definitely eat some 1st down snaps and show enough juice.

Gainwell should get snaps, but not a lot. Agree, they need Boston Scott back. After 3 games, I'd be happy with Swift at 60%, Scott 25% and Gainwell 15%.

Swift 6.8 YPC

Scott 7.2 YPC

Gainwell 3.5 YPC

Wonder if they will cut Penny and sign someone else.

Vikings don't have the Oline we do though

For a RBBC we're only using 2 backs

I love how Covey stared his football mortality in the face and just decided to go balls to the wall, run directly into the hurricane style.  You can tell teams have no idea whats going on, like is this little dude really running straight at us right now?

His returns were also a textbook example of the jeopardy that a punter puts his team in when his punts are low on hang time and have too much distance.  Covey had time to see the oncoming defenders in front of himand choose the course of maximum potential.

On the flip side the KOR by Allen showed the significant value of a kick with lots of hang time.  His options at the time he caught the ball were severely limited.  The wise play would have been to let the kick bounce into the End Zone for a touchback. That option comes with the risk of a weird bounce not letting the ball actually cross the Goal Line, but I still think it was the wisest choice.

I'd still like to see Howie find a slot/S before the trade deadline. Would prefer to keep Bradberry outside

Allen should have called a fair catch.  That's the new rule this year.  You can fair catch anywhere and get ball on 25

Eh it’s a bleak market right now unless they are just gonna take someone off another practice squad. Basically veterans you have are jd mckissic, fournette (looked bad last year), James robinson (has not looked the same since his injury), deon Jackson, Benny snell and Ronald jones. Jackson could be intriguing. Was good last year as the colts rb when it got hurt

Brian Mitchell was great at running straight at the return teams.....

Mitchell had the nimbleness to have a lot of wiggle, allowing him to sidestep oncoming defenders.  Covey has shown much more wiggle this year.  He actually was beginning to show that toward the end of last season.

The way D's have been playing the Eagles can only be described as afraid or terrified.

They are trying to limit big plays and edge runs on Hurts keepers.

The Eagles staff needs to learn to take the 180 rushing yards up the middle in the first half from the start. This team should be rushing for 300 a game, not 200.

Hurts eventually adjusted in the passing game and started hitting AJ for those 7-8 yard quick hits in front of way too deep corners.

If the D plays soft then take the easy stuff up and down the field.

The team is 0-3 in the last 3 regular season games he didn't start.  But yeah let's act like the most important and impactful position in football doesn't have a huge role to play in the outcome of games.

You people that always had an issue with Jalen just can't let it go.  It's pathetic.

I understand your point - but don't minimize the input of the best OL in the league and a top shelf collection of receivers.

I wonder if one of the consequences of skipping training camp is player evaluation.

They had no idea that Swift was better than Gainwell or that Morrow might be the best LB on the team.  And why would they?  If the 1s never play and the 2s just go through the motions, it’s probably easier to miss these things.

Im not saying they are doing it wrong.  But with everyone asking how the Eagles didn’t know this sooner, that’s probably why.

In the case of Morrow the film of the Bears games from last year should have been enough, but for some reason they chose to cut him.  In fairness to Howie, since Morrow is a vested veteran and didn't have to go through waivers, they may have had a handshake agreement that Morrow would come onto the Practice Squad so that the team could maximize keeping the young players with potential, and bring Morrow up to the 53-man when the first IR assignment was made.

Lol

Slay celebration was pretty funny the music makes it better

If the Cowboys OL doesn't heal up by Sunday, the Patriots can 100% beat them. The Patriots defense made the Dolphins offense look human.

I don't think he'd be happy with the role, but Leonard Fournette would be a huge upgrade over Penny.

Veteran FA:

Damien Williams

Royce Freeman

Jonathan Williams

The following are on practice squads:

Demetric Felton is an interesting name. He's on the Bengals practice squad now. He's a dynamic KR. He doesn't bring any sort of size but he's a weapon.

Devine Ozigbo Detroit

Lamical Perine KC

Jaret Patterson Chargers

DeWayne McBride Vikings

I understand the logic but I think Morrow would have gone to a different 53 if he could.  Dean got hurt and the path was set but I don't think it was so much a master plan as things working out the Eagles way

That game was 25-11 but it could have been 32-11 without pity at the end and 50-11 if the Eagles were on their A game from the start.

Tampa gave up 108 rushing yards total in 2 games before last night. The only reason the Eagles did not run for 300 was the 20 minutes it took to figure out that they could dominate up the middle.

Rushing yards per game so far:  Eagles O: 185.7  Eagles D allowed: 48.3

That's without playing Swift more than a couple carries in week 1 and without committing to the run from go in each game.

I really think the Eagles need to just cut Penny and bring in a running back that offers something different. The 4th and 2 run to Gainwell was infuriating. I would have rather seen them try to tush push for 2 yards than to give it to Gainwell there.

I respectfully disagree.  To make that move without giving Penny a legitimate shot at proving himself ... or not ... would be premature and unwise.  I would start Swift on Sunday and play him for the first drive and then bring in Penny for the second drive.  We talk about "prove it" seasons.  That second drive would be Penny's "prove it" equivalent.

Lots of players have had very good lines and very good weapons.

The list of QBs with 1 loss over a 20+ stretch of regular season games is something like Manning, Brady, Montana, Hurts.
