I didn't say anything negative about Hurts.  I made a statement about TEAMS.  But, sure... Brock Purdy is undefeated in his career as an NFL QB in games he both starts and finishes.  He's the GOAT.

Once again, football is a TEAM sport.  Yes, some positions have more impact than others... but TEAMS win and TEAMS lose.  Or, we can go ahead and blame the Super Bowl loss on Hurts, after all (by your logic), HE (not the team) lost that game.

Brock Purdy is certainly underrated.  A lot of different QBs have had their chance on that team in that offensive system and none of them have had the same level of success.  Closest to come to it was Jimmy G but even he wasn't as good in there as Beock has been.

Great QBs win games.  It's no shock that you don't have great QBs out there that are putting up losing season after losing season.  There is a reason for that.

Exactly.  He needs to be carefully monitored and used accordingly.  I see him very much in the BWest 2002-2004 mold.  He can be truly dynamic, but we need to be careful not to overuse him and lose him for the post-season.

I see that as being the case even more so after the results of this week.  We sit alone on the top of the NFCE standings and ,if my season record prediction holds, will go into the Bye Week undefeated.  That would mean a Cowboys loss to us in Week 9 and a two game lead.over them ... one game if we lose to the Dolphins.  I thinks Swift will be essential in the Dolphins and Cowboys games, so manage his workload so that he is at peak form both of those weeks, zand then point toward having him at peak in January.

None of them can seem to survive. For whatever reason they get destroyed in that scheme. We saw it first hand.

I keep wondering why so little action for Goedert, but Baldy posted another video where he was running wide open and Hurts bailed on the protection. The plays are there for him. Same as the NE game.

He still seems a bit sped up. Clock for him still isn't there yet for whatever reason. Work in progress but it seems like he's getting better each week. Receivers just have to get on the same page and that will come in time also.

Still missing the point.  Aaron Rodgers would qualify as a great QB, but the teams around him have been pretty bad...  and what's the result?  (It hasn't been a lot of wins, especially in the playoffs.)    Drew Brees had a 5 year stretch, where the team went 7-9 4 of those years.  Was he not a great QB during those years, but then magically became a great QB again?  (Interestingly, he lead the league in passing in the 4 years they were 7-9, but didn't lead the league in passing in the one year in that span where the team won 11 games.)

Teams win, teams lose.  QBs contribute a lot to those wins, and to those losses.  But football, more than any other sport, depends on the whole of the team, not just the individual at QB.  And that's why Dan Marino never got a Super Bowl, despite being an amazing QB.  And that's why Trent Dilfer did win a Super Bowl, despite NOT being a good QB.

Looking forward to getting a division win this week.  Sam Howell is going to get a real welcome to the NFL moment during that game.

Howell was sacked 9 times on Sunday.  Looks like a real opportunity for the D-Line.  Ironically, in Week 3 last year the Commanders QB was also sacked 9 times.

The team is 0-3 in the last 3 regular season games he didn't start.  But yeah let's act like the most important and impactful position in football doesn't have a huge role to play in the outcome of games.

You people that always had an issue with Jalen just can't let it go.  It's pathetic.

And you are Chicken Little seeing issues where there are nothing more than factual observations.

They will use a "get the ball out quickly, dink and dunk" strategy. Desai needs to have the DBs playing on the line and not off of it.

Please tell me the Jets have to pay him a performance bonus based on that

Yes.....$700 million

Not bad for 4 snaps worth of work.

We shouldn't expect Howell to play as bad as he did against the Bills.  That doesn't mean this Defense can't rattle him and cause more turnovers.

I don't think Penny is bad.  I think it's more they know he's fragile and are saving him.

They're running for around 200 yards with who they have.  Once Swift or Gainwell goes down, more likely Swift, then we'll see Penny.

DEs aren’t graded on sacks alone.  With the DTs absolutely crushing the middle of the pocket, the DEs, even Barnett, are doing an excellent job of compacting the pocket inward while setting the edge.  White and Mayfield couldn’t get outside. I think I saw a stat (Buck and Troy were muted) that Mayfield was 1/2 while rolling out.  That’s serious contain.  Only thing I disliked about the defense was going into a loose zone prevent when up by three touchdowns and frankly that spear catch by Evans was phenomenal.  Pay him Tampa.

You could see that Hurts was off last night and he was walking like he was feeling the effects of the flu.  Considering that, he was okay and just good enough. When he threw that interception near the end zone my reaction, even before the score, was he just threw them into a safety.

I got the double dose of both the flu shot and Covid booster last week.  The next day, I had no energy at all so I can only imagine how Hurts felt.  (Both in the same arm.  The Vax arm reaction was real and I couldn’t raise my arm above my shoulder for a day.).  Makes me wonder if Hurts has had the flu shot because I don’t want what he has.

I doubt he would have gotten the shot a few days before a game.

Desai has done a really nice job so far, and I think the best thing he’s done is getting off to good starts early in games. Forced two turnovers against NE, only allowed 7 points in the first half against MIN, and only three points allowed in the first half last night. It allows the offense to stay on schedule and not press from behind.

Big big BIG game tonight.. Chance to clinch a playoff spot, the 4 seed and homefield in the WC round

Drew Brees has a career win percentage of 60.1%.  The stretch of losing you showcased was just under .500.  How much worse do you think those Saints teams would have been those seasons if Brees wasn't the QB?  I mean we saw it with Rodgers as your other example when he was injured and missed time in Green Bay in his career.  The Packers fell off the face of the planet into losing without him those seasons.

Meanwhile Trent Dilfer a career winning percentage of 50.4%.  Yeah he won a Super Bowl with one of the greatest defenses to ever step on the field but he certainly didn't have a career of success beyond that.  Dan Marino by the way since you mentioned him, 61.3% career winning percentage.

Turns out good QBs have a major impact on a team's success.  If you're a good QB then you will lead your teams to wins over your career.  There aren't good QBs in the modern NFL that are continual losers because the impact of QBs on the outcome of games is greater than the impact of any other position, possibly in all of sports.

I can't take your football opinion seriously if you aren't able to admit that.
