If you could add one historic eagle to this team, who would it be?  Try to account for fit, not just your favorite Eagle.

The 3 that come to mind for my short list are Reggie, Desean, and Westbrook.

The last thing this team needs is another DL, but putting Reggie on this line might break the NFL.

Likewise, wr is a strength, but adding Desean to Devonta/Brown is a disaster for secondaries.

Lastly…Westbrook behind this OL…as a 1-2 with Swift…that makes 200 rushing yards per game sustainable.

Dawkins, William Thomas, Seth Joyner for fit.

Reggie would be terrifying on this front.

Great question.  I’m just going with players I remember watching play.

1. Desean - for the reasons you said and a top 5 punt returner of all time.

2. Dawkins - safety is a need and he’s the best ever. I’m slightly hesitant because he wouldn’t be able to kill people like he used to. Still a massive upgrade.

3. Al Harris - he can play nickel or outside CB.

honorable mention - Nigel Bradham.

Reggie, prime Dawk, and I struggle to think of a LB that can live in todays era outside of pre Flight Night Injury Bradley.  Not sure on WR.  Devonta is a slightly slower but somehow better all around WR version of Jackson.  Westbrook and Swift are essentially twins.  Reggie is a no brainer.

He would…and he’d be my first choice for that reason

Dawkins back there would be just as nice

Did I miss who won the predictions?

Here they are again

I say we continue to do the Tush Push but also have variations like Jalen did before he tripped.   Honestly, it's basically just a glorified QB sneak but our design is what makes it work.  They really shield Jalen like a barrier.  It's hard to stop 4th and 1 and 4 and inches anyway.  But Defenses still do it.  People can't be upset because the Eagles execute it flawlessly most of the time. There is no rule saying only the Eagles can do that.  So because other teams can't excute it the same it's the Eagles fault.

Another real problem I have with banning the tush push (and I don't say this as a biased Eagles fan) is that only one team has perfected it and utilizes it with meaningful frequency.

If every NFL game featured 3-5 tush pushes from each team, then I'd get trying to ban a boring, automatic 1 yard play for the sake of watchability.  But it hasn't caught on because no one else has perfected it.  It's a slippery slope to ban a competitive advantage.  Contrast that with the universally utilized shift in baseball.

I find it infuriating when Mahomes freelances outside of the pocket, toes the LOS, and hits someone downfield every time.  I hate it.  He's the only player in the NFL that does it.  It's a ridiculous advantage.  Can we ban that?  What about a prime Randy Moss go route?

I think it's risky to ban something that one team excels at, has perfected, and has turned into an advantage.

Ban it once it catches on and you're sick of watching 32 teams do it.

During the game i said they should try a fake with it. But i want Aj brown on the far side running a slant route. With everyone else besides the corner covering him going for hurts, you have aj brown one on one with the corner and he’s strong and fast enough it’s gonna be a touchdown on the goal line and if run elsewhere on the field might go for a big touchdown.

I'd like to have the "Every Snap" YouTube guy put together a compilation of all the Eagles' QB Sneak snaps.  I suspect that that compilation will show that the two Eagles "RBs" that flank Hurts rarely (if ever) push him forward any more.  They provide protection of his flanks from an edge rusher and they drive forward beside him, but I don't think they push him the way that they did in the prior seasons incarnation of the play.  The Eagles O-Line has gotten so good in their execution that the push has become unnecessary.

With that said, Eisen's argument wandered into a nonsensical comparison of the number of players the Offense deploys versus the number of players the defense deploys.  His argument was that the Defense has fewer players it can deploy to stop the play.  In fact, by rule they have more players to deploy at the point of attack.  The Eagles must by rule have four players behind the LOS.  The Defense has no such limitation.  As we saw with the Eagles Safety, it is all about execution.

This is why it didn't get banned at the competition committee. They showed too many teams failing at it.

Also think Lurie would have vetoed other moves that other owners wanted (Josh Harris, TV contracts, etc).

Will the Phillies get a hit today?

Wilbert and Seth. Pre-injury Wes Hopkins and Jason Peters. Reggie and Eric Allen. Mix and match.

The play is something new so I like it. Teams are having trouble replicating it and stopping it so I really like it lol

The Bucs fans probably left somewhere during the 3rd quarter.

Yeah a lot did.  By the 4th quarter it went from about 40% Eagles fans to about 80% Eagles fans still there.  By the time the game ended it was almost all Eagles fans leaving the game.

They combine the Brittany mahomes and the jackson mahomes fans it would actually be -1

Not to be overlooked from last night because it ended in a pick, but having an RB like Swift running option routes is gonna be a good thing for this offense. Also, I’ve seen some Twitter guys suggesting we actually ran hot routes against the blitz.

Some of these teams would have ridiculous wr corps if they did it. Like bengals with chase, Higgins, adams and Boyd or niners with deebo, aiyuk and Adams. would be hilarious if he went back to Gb without rodgers. I actually think a team not mentioned could be the patriots

Thoughts?
