Meanwhile, it was the backup QB... a redshirt freshman.  He needs reps, so nothing should be said negative about throwing the ball there.  Its football, and they weren't 'piling on' with the starter.  They were giving their backup QB needed reps in a real game.

Yup painter would’ve made Sanchez as that guy in the minors who would’ve been called up to spot start or give guys like walker and lorenzen some rest. Granted painter was gonna be on an innings count and I’m curious if painter was healthy if they make that lorenzen move. Tend to think they do due to the innings count on painter.

People will claim upside on Castro at 24 but he really hasn’t been good as a MLB except for a month total in his mlb career. The he hit LHP well when he got traded was cause for 9 games he hit everything and he was awful after that.

Success wise it would’ve been better if everyone in the pac 12 stayed cause once Riley got really rolling then Usc could’ve likely dominated the pac 12. Don’t see them doing that in the big 10.

I’d argue they are gonna be the 2nd or 3rd best team every year in that conference with occasionally the best team.  They aren’t better than OSU. I’d argue they aren’t better than Michigan. Better chance in the pac 12 when Riley really got rolling they would’ve been the top dog every year. The pac 12 this year isn’t indicative of what it normally has been the last 10 years prior. Sadly the best the conference has been is the year it is going away. Next year it would’ve reverted back closer to the norm

JJ is an all-time Eagles coaching legend and his defenses were a treat...however, that happened more than it should have, especially in big games.

Things change every year. No one stays on top forever. Riley has done a really good job keeping those top recruits from Cali in Cali for the most part. OSU, Bama, and Oregon most notably were recruiting very well in Cali before Riley. Until he quits being loyal to Grinch, his defenses won't change. Although they are improved over last years team. Need better defenses going into the big 10. More like they need to continue to get better on the dline

I think Michigan and Penn State are both better than Ohio State right now. 

Now the Raiders releasing Jones…how about maybe trying to help the guy.
