On one hand it would be great to see the Lions pull the upset.  On the other hand don't really want to see other potential top NFC teams pick up wins in games that I had projected as losses.  Hunt for the #1 seed begins week 1.

If the Lions win it will just be that Mahomes didn't have help.  Kelce is out. Chris Jones is out.

It will just be an excuse-fest for KC.

Sadly for us they just won the SB so if they lose it won't be that big a deal to them anyway

Excited to see what Gibbs can do.

Have a media member friend at Chiefs game. Was gonna get a pic for me, but got yelled at. Lol. Kelce is limping pretty bad.

Translation error there. I meant to say that Taylor was the best OLB in the history of the sport, not the greatest player. Perhaps I could have phrased it better.

Gotcha.  I can agree to that.

Interesting discussion … parallel to a similar one going on on Freddy and Fitzsimmons.  The prop in their discussion was essentially "where does Patrick Mahomes stand in the GOAT discussion if his next six seasons produce the same results as his first six years?”

One worth discussing... once the whole story is written on Mahomes.  Personally, I'll reserve judgement for the time being.

Got this pic. Real deal folks! Ashame it's the wrong logo.😞

He should sit.  They get a mini-bye before their next game, and this is an interconference game, least important game of the year, as games go (though, with only 17, each is huge... but this one is less huge, of the huge).

Honestly, I don't feel Banks ever really lived up to the hype. His draft status had everybody at the time expecting the giants to have the best pair of OLBs in the NFL for years. Banks had 2 very good seasons and they happened when the Giants peaked, which also happened during an extended period of NFC dominance. For a majority of his career, he was more name than production.

I disagree with the last statement, though. I don't think being in NY had much to do with the hype. Also during that era was the biggest hype-machine ever known and his name was John Madden. Don't get mw wrong, I miss those days --- much respect for Madden. But you became a household name if he got on your bandwagon. It didn't matter what market you were playing in (see Brett Favre).

Yes... and no.  What I meant with that comment was playing on the same team with LT... going to two Super Bowls, and getting a ton of games being called by Madden and Summerall.  It isn't just NY.  It was the timing of it all.  The Giants were a darling of the league and the networks, and got a ton of games on the national stage.

Without Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes now has only had 3 of his first 95 games be without a WR, TE, or RB that made 1st team all-pro.

Peyton Manning had the record, which is now tied, at also only having 3 of his first 95 starts be without a 1st team all-pro skill position player.

Meanwhile, Tom Brady was missing a 1st team all-pro skill position player in 95 of his first 95 starts.

Now that’s a stat.

There will be excuses but that might be cause for concern if the offense goes dead at the loss of their soon to be 34 year old TE.  That's why I think they will end up with Mike Evans, especially if they lose tonight without Kelce.

What do you mean "made all pro”. Like in the current season? Because Kelce made all pro before Mahomes was even drafted and Mahomes only played two NFL games without him. It really shows Kelce has had a very healthy career more than anything. Tonight is actually his first game he ever has missed due to injury.

Note to self.  Don’t draft KC RBs in PPR leagues

Meanwhile their WR’s coach started his career with two years as a defensive assistant 4 years ago.

Right... he's saying Mahomes has had an All-Pro skill position player on the field with him in all but 3 of his games.

They should be suiting up the original Slim Reaper for tonight's game so Mahomes has something to throw it to.

I would 100% pay the price of admission just to ask AI Jerry super uncomfortable questions.

"Jerrybot, what do you think of desegregation and the harm it will cause our American values?"

"Jerrybot, which of your current players has the most impressive dong, and is that part of your draft day evaluations?"

Well, healthy yes, but also that they stayed together which the stats indicates typically doesn’t happen.

I think it’s ever. Like for Peyton, his "all pro” his rookie year was Marshall Faulk when Harrison missed 4 games, as he made 1st team in STL

Which makes it even more amazing that Tom didn’t play with anyone who made 1st team ever… until Moss I suspect

NFL pregame shows are just so very cringe worthy.  What a mess of a production.  I forget how bad they are until I tune in and watch these guys fake excitement and try to be cool.
