I don't blame the offense at all for scoring.  If you can score then do so.

That last drive to send it to OT was on the defense.

Being up 7 with less than 1:30 should be plenty to hold on especially if they only have 1 timeout.

Agreed.

you should find a team that is a safe space for your feelings

And always remember. We could be the Steelers

We had 5 sacks today, couldn't tell.

4-0 is 4-0. With some better luck, we're likely winning comfortably. But that's football.

If you look around the league it's a week to week thing.  I'll happily take the win and see what happens next week

Can we fire Brian Johnson and get another coach in there like the Phillies?

That was last year they fired girardi. This year they got on track.

I think eventually the offense is going to be fine. If Johnson can not screw up the play calling and actually learn from his mistakes and fix the red zone problems. You’re seeing the start of it being better with how they looked in the second half scoring the points they did.

The bigger issue is I don’t think the defense is going to be good considering the QB gauntlet they are gonna face. have a hole safety next to Reed and lack quality depth. Edmunds is . Evans is also not good. And I don’t think Brown as a rookie is going to be able to fill that void. You don’t have a quality nickel corner which is making you play jobe more than he needs too. That’s also not getting fixed. Say whatever we want about Schwartz when he was here when guys got hurt he found ways to be effective. Hence le blanc. got holes at linebacker besides morrow. Cunningham is what he is.  Dean hasn’t proven he can stay healthy. Besides sweat what have Graham, Barnett and others consistently provided on the edge in terms of pass rush. Plus you got a new DC trying to figure out his personnel and dealing with holes we really didn’t have last year.

I was going to ask this after the Eagles played but if you were listening the top four teams in the NFC where would you have the Eagles? They are 4-0 but I’d say niners have been better.

There are close games and there are epic crap shows across the board outside of Jake. The SB was anxiety. This was f'ing disgusting. Bad coaching. Bad officiating. Bad defense. Horrible decisions.

Agree but they won. Perfection isn't the goal and "they didn't do it right" is the anthem of butt hurt fans around the world. No problem critiquing the game, as you did but the chicken little nonsense is just that.

I still have no problem with scoring the TD there and not running out the clock.  There’s no guarantee you are kicking that fg with time expiring…and knowing our defense, the Commanders are probably kicking a fg to send it to OT.

I 100% blame the defense for allowing that.  They were terrible against a bad offense all day.  With the exception of 1 week, they’ve allowed bad QBs to gut them all year.

It’s a bad secondary.

IMO  this game will light up howie to get some secondary help

I agree but I don’t mind scoring a TD when you can.  It’s not a sure thing to close out the clock and kick the fg

I think it was a 45 yarder or so from where they were when they scored the TD. Jake is probably 90-95% at kicks from that distance. Sirianni is basically saying he felt the defense had a better chance at stopping Howell from getting a TD than Jake burying the FG. Sirianni was clearly wrong.

In the moment, I didn't hate it, but looking back, obviously this defense can't be trusted whatsoever, which is incredibly frustrating.

A backfield with Slay, Bradberry, Blankenship should not be struggling this much. Even with youth at slot CB and another safety question mark. Teams have performed better with far less talent. Just guys running free all game whenever Howell had time. I know they have good WRs but jeez. Starting to think it’s just an organizational philosophy on how they want to play defense. Prevent chunk plays, be ok with the middle of the field being open. Because regardless of coaches it seems to always e the same.

Sirianni’s worst game in a while.

Sidnt call timeout at the end of the first half. Sat on a timeout, cost them a chance to go for a TD.

At the end of one of the latter drives, elected to run the ball I stand of being aggressive, making it only a TD game.

At the end of the game elects to go for a TD instead of running iu the clock.

Not sure what’s up with him this year. Remember a couple games back he didn’t go for 2 against the Vikings which could’ve cost them. He’s making some questionable coaching decisions.

The coaching has been mediocre to bad all season.  The stupid decision against the Vikings and then a ton of dumb decisions today.

Howie better read them all the riot act.

Coaching should be much better than that. Saying "that's football" doesn't cut it. Some of the things we saw just shouldn't happen.

I'd rather just demote him back to QB coach and get someone else to call plays

I know fans tend to focus on the negative, but despite a couple bad plays, Hurts put us in position to win twice despite some awful playcalling and garbage officiating. Point fingers elsewhere this week for who is to blame for this being as close as it was.

yeah, I'm pointing all fingers at the coaches. What in the world is with the playcalling, the defense, the use of players, the clock awareness etc. This team looks confused way more than it should, especially considering the important pieces (Hurts, Sirianni) have been together for 3 years now. I have no idea what they are doing. I'm OK with Kenny Gainwell being in the rotation, but he should not be spelling Swift for series at a time. Hell, where's Boston Scott? We know he has juice but he can't even get a carry now?  Coming out of a timeout on 3rd and long and you run Gainwell off tackle?  Who thinks that's a good idea?

Outside of one play, he still looks like his feet are stuck in mud.

Being 4-0 after this game is huge. If they lose and are 3-1 after that performance, the locker room could have been seriously tested.  The need to figure this out and quick.

Firing a rookie OC 4 weeks into the season, is dumb. Giving him some help 4 weeks into the season, not so dumb.

The Eagles are a "Minnesota Vikings” kind of 4-0.

lol…I don’t see it that way at all.  There is definitely a lot of work to do, but I don’t ever see this Eagles team getting steamrolled like happened to the Vikings a few times last year.  They had a 13–4 record, but a negative point differential. That’s not the Eagles

While obviously winning is the most important thing... the coaches need to examine how they ALL handled that last 15 minutes of football (including the OT).  They need to be better at the end of the game.  Brian Johnson needs to go back to the drawing board for the red zone offense.  Sean Desai needs to go back to the drawing board regarding red zone defense.

The issue is they have nobody next to Blankenship. Evans and edmunds are not good. They are journeymen type safeties. Brown is hurt and young. So growing pains there. Then add in their nickel corner situation makes them play jobe more. They really could use a guy like Baker who can play safety and nickel. Or you can have him play nickel and brown eventually play more and go three safetys.

Passing game

Passing game is still a work in progress.  Some really nice throws from Hurts today, but still some boneheaded decisions, bailing from the pocket and dropping his eyes and off target throws.

a win is a win , but howie needs to find a safety , edmunds is trash. IMO the backers are better then last season so far even without dean. the pass rush is missing.

Yup lost in all the hoopla at the end of the game was that back breaking late hit from him.

It's funny when fans will brush off the negativity just because it's a win when the team barely defeated the freaking Commies lol

But who?  Who is out there that's available?

I heard Sauce Gardner is unhappy with the Jets.  Maybe Howie could get him 😉

(Kidding of course, unless the Jets are that stupid)

We agree on the last part. They are 4-0 so however they get there it's a good thing, but I think a lot of us are still calming down from the stress of that crap. If the ultimate goal is to win the SB it's hard to feel like the coaches are capable of putting them in the right places, at least on offense. It's the same damn crew outside of one guard spot. Johnson inherited a Ferrari and is driving it like crap.

With some worse luck we’re 1-3.

But we’re not.  4-0.  But things need to change if they are to survive better teams.
