Still confused on what the plan is with Goedert. After 4 weeks it’s like we don’t even try to get him involved in the game plan.

You have two running plays to get 4 yards, which gets you the first down and bleeds their last timeout.  Then you can run the clock out and kick the FG at the buzzer.

Big mistake to go for the TD immediately and give them the ball back against our weak D with over 90 seconds and a timeout.

And if they don't get the first down, you still have to rely on the defense. I agree that throwing the ball there is a bad decision, but Washington made us earn every yard on the ground all game.

Nothing is a sure thing.  But, I watched this defense all day.  The chances of the negative happening if they run the ball and kick the FG at the end of regulation was a much lower chance of happening than the defense playing like swiss cheese and letting Washington move down the field to tie it up, OR go for 2 and then that's not how you win, that's how you lose.

The reason the Eagles got the ball back was because "Riverboat" Ron didn't roll the dice on the 2 point conversion.  This defense was gassed.  The 2 point seemed a foregone conclusion.  And then, Reed's forearm just happened to land under McLaurin's foot and carried his toe out of bounds.

Nah, I'd rather trust the OL, Swift and Elliott with the game on the line.

I watched this game and saw a ton of penalties hurt the eagles all game long. You just don’t know in the NFL. I think if you have the opportunity to take a 7 point lead with a minute left you take it every time.

As far as DC’s decision, I can’t find more recent data, but from 2017-2020, the 2 point conversion success rate across the NFL was only 49%. I don’t think that decision is as easy as you think. I’m sure they have advanced analytics to make this decision.

They did the same thing to Hurts yet....nothing??

Eagles were down 2 starters and 3 total DBs.  The pass rush hasn’t been delivering quite like last year.  It will come.  Patience.

Cam Jurgens in a walking boot so probably iffy for Rams.

Ok so I just checked... We were at their 28 yard line with 2nd and 4 and 1:49 on the clock. BUT, Washington did have another TO left, so it's not a foregone conclusion that we could've drained the clock and won on a last second FG. If they stop us short on 2nd and 3rd down, we'd be kicking the FG with about 55 seconds left on the clock. And with the way this defense finished the game, that's plenty of time for Howell to drive them into FG range.

I still think Sirianni made a dumb decision to trust the defense, especially given the risk that throwing the ball there incurs, but not as much of a bonehead move as it would've been had WAS not had that last timeout.

Yes they did... but I trust this OL and Swift to get 4 yards on 2 carries... much more than the D.

And the good news is that Washington wouldn't have had the extra 15 for the PF.  So, if Washington goes down the field and gets it tied up... we're right back where we were as it turned out.   I don't see the downside of the potential loss.  Rivera really helped us out by not going for 2.  And that to me is the difference.  1:30 on the clock with a timeout needing a TD with an extra 15 (which Sirianni/Johnson couldn't have known about when making the call) is very different than 55 seconds and no timeouts starting at the 25.   Definitely a good chance Washington still ties it up, assuming the Eagles can't get the first down to kill the clock completely...  but as it went, I think that the game turned on Rivera not staying aggressive.   Nice to know that the opposing coaches can also screw up in their decision making as well.

At that point, Washington wanted the eagles to score a td so they could get the ball back with a chance to tie or win the game with a 2 point conversion. If the eagles pick up a first down running the ball, commanders burn a timeout but eagles can drain the clock to the point of no time or nearly no time and win the game on a kick. It was the same thing ole miss did yesterday where they almost got screwed scoring the td against lsu

Well... the key is the fans will make it uncomfortable for them.

Missed an entire half of a close game. We’re lucky if he’s just iffy if he’s in walking boot.

All 3 games at home though.   We should be fine.

Can we end the "no place in the game for this, suspend him" tweets that I see at least once a week now. Geez.

That’s not good.

Thank the football gods "Riverboat Ron" pussed out.  We were reeling way more then they were, and you definitely want to roll the dice with an inferior team.

Typical conservative old-school football mentality saves us.

Tbh i feel like the marlins are a team where it may be less effective cause i think they are basically playing with house money. No one in the world thought they’d make the playoffs and they are ahead of where they should be. Not saying it can’t or won’t but i wouldn’t be at all surprised if they aren’t as rattled by it as they have really no pressure to win. It’s all on the Phillies.

Considering the Commies are an inferior team on the road, not going for 2 was a bad decision.  When you are an inferior team, you want to shorten the game.

Many of the replays they showed he was open.  I really think the entire team is still a work in progress with the new coordinators on both sides of the ball.

People keep saying we aren't going far in the playoffs playing like this.  Well luckily the playoffs aren't for another 3+ months.

Dallas running fake PATs against Belichick.

A win is a win, but I feel like the Eagles made it harder than it needed to be.

Lucky it’s the easiest part of the schedule the second half of season will not be as forgiving

Some incredibly dumb 3rd down penalties certainly didn’t help.
