That’s the one where Dickerson goes early in overtime.

All this Hold controversy just brings me back to the BS holding call on Morrow in our game that gave Washington a free 1st down. Pretty bad day for ref competency.

It was a frustrating game because if they lose and get outplayed by a team, I can live with it. It happens and it will happen this season where they just get outplayed by a team on that day. But that’s the second Washington game in a row where there was a string of happenstance, crucial plays or calls that didn’t go their way once.

Last year it was the Quez fumble and the Graham roughing. Today it was the Morrow hold, the Edmunds dropped INT in the end zone, the fumble in the end zone, the Dickerson offsides, the Bradberry PI on an uncatchable ball, and the Hurts intentional grounding. Six crucial plays or calls that all went against them. And they still managed to pull out an OT win.  They’re a tough bunch.

Right, but Payne was lined up in the neutral zone anyway.

So Stafford is an injured sitting duck next week.  How about some soft zones, bish!

Same with the one offsides they called on Dickerson early in the game on it. The defender had his finger on the ball. Should’ve also been offsetting penalties. But still doesn’t excuse Dickerson for his error. The eagles oline has had issues through 4 games with penalties. I already know the officials are inconsistent and not very good. What helps those officials is if my guys aren’t actually committing penalties at all.

I can’t control what the officials are going to see and not see or how they are gonna call the game. What I can control is making sure Landon Dickerson isnt offsides and isn’t jumping too soon on the play to potentially be called.

Calcaterra is a waste of a roster spot

Albert O really should be better.   the combine numbers are better, and Albert O had one pretty decent season with something like 33 catches.  He seems like someone you could call a #1 Receiving TE, with Goedert as #1 TE.

They are 4-0 though, so maybe they just dial up whatever they need to dial up to win.  I don't think they're trying to score 70 points.

Zaccheaus is filling the Pascal role from last season nicely. Some big plays last week and he excels in blocking. Great hustle play on the first AJ touchdown getting downfield. He’s contributing.

I don't think anyone disputes the call... it's just the moment in which it was called when the refs were letting them play all game. Eerily similar to the Bradberry Superbowl hold so clearly many of us are triggered

I’ve watched enough football to know and see officials have been calling and looking for that crap in the game’s biggest moments. They called it in the last two SBs; with the bengals and rams as well.

Would I like them not to call it and let them play like they did before? Yea be consistent. However, I also know it is a penalty and there’s always a risk they finally are going to get you on it. I’m surprised more DBs just don’t do it in the final minutes in games knowing officials are on alert and looking to make that type of call

I think people should be way more irritated they missed the blatant obvious hold on KC on 3rd and 22 then sauce’s hold

Wrong Brotherly Shove play.  Towards the end of the game, they ran one and Dickerson was early. Dickerson made a number of mental errors today.

He did but on the play Dickerson was called offside the DL also lined up offside.  The DL guy offside nearly touched the ball with his fingers when they lined up.

Actually not disappointed with the offensive play calling today or Hurts overall performance.  But the cushion from the secondary is nuts and Washington exploited it all day.  Lots of rubs too.  That last drive the CBs were 14 yards off the LOS.  I have been complaining about that all year but today was really bad.  Of course, the only times I could see Edmunds, he was badly positioned.  Jobe is slow but he actually plays better when he can get contact with the WR early.  That munchkin on the PS has good speed and put up 19 reps pre draft.  Just about ready to try him at nickel.

Against a team like this the thing that was working was aggression on D (play downfield with emotion).  They really only showed in the early part of the 2nd half.

4-0 and not playing particularly well.  Lots of small injuries but outside of Maddox nothing super major (knock on wood for Jurgens).  Hurts starting to throw better.

Honestly, this is the perfect place to be at this time of the year with this schedule and after the SB and loss of coordinators.  It is a longggggg season.  If we stay healthy and develop we will be right there with a good shot at the end.  You can't ask for much more than that.

Think it was noteworthy that when Jurgens went down, Opeta was called up instead of Driscoll. I also take it that Steen is not ready at all.

I just don’t think irrationally hating a team that hasn’t been a threat for 30 years just because they won some SBs in the early 90s makes sense.

SF scares me more, therefore I’d rather they lose.

Yes, but if Dallas finishes with a better record than us, our playoff path is going to be on the road since we won't be division winners. That's not an insignificant thing. If the 49ers finish with a better record and we finish ahead of Dallas, we'll still get a home game or two.

You absolutely worry about your division first. Period.

I hope the Niners curb stomp the Cowboys.

There is nothing irrational about hating the Cowboys. I like your posts, so I'm not bashing you, but how can any Eagles fan not get that? Their fans drive that bus in a lot of ways, and that hasn't changed at all in 30 years.

SF still has a weak OL. The Eagles will have to take care of business, but screw the Cowboys.

Exactly. Win the division first.

Think the niners have an average oline. I wouldn’t say weak. Just not in the same class as the eagles or top tiers in the league. If i were the niners I’d probably go max protect to slow down the eagles pass rush and try to have aiyuk, deebo and cmc beat their guys. I don’t see shanahan doing that though.

But the  eagles have 3 issues going on in their secondary. First their safety next to Blankenship is just bad. Edmunds is not good. Most of his career he’s not been what everyone thought he could be. Evans is also not very good and injury prone. Brown is hurt and young. He might not be completely ready until end of the year or next year. It’s a big issue. The next issue is they don’t have a good slot corner with maddox injured which creates another issue by moving bradberry inside and forces jobe on the field. by moving bradberry inside you are downgrading your outside corner spot by using jobe instead of bradberry. You are also essentially downgrading from maddox to bradberry at slot corner cause bradberry isn’t a slot corner. So essentially they downgraded at two positions having to move bradberry inside.

Our lockeroom is one of the few that could handle him, but him and AJ together could be a powder keg.

He's been terrible in Chicago, half assing blocks, lazy on routes and calling out the coaching staff and team in the press, absolutely do not want.

I honestly lost count of the number of replays of Washington Offensive snaps that showed at least one of their OL plainly holding, I saw at least 3 (including the play inside the one) where they had a clear grip inside the collar and it wasn't called. This year the refs are lightning quick calling every ticky tack holding penalty on drive ending pass break ups,  but all but ignoring bread and butter O Line holding.

Dickerson was merely reacting to the DL that was in the neutral zone.  So, the correct call is neutral zone infraction, 5 yard penalty on the Wasteam.

Its still a freaking penalty. The replay shows it. It’s blatant. If sauce doesn’t put his hands all over MVS at the 34 to the 32.5 yard line there’s no chance for it to be called. don’t put your fate into the hands of inconsistent officiating.

I really don’t feel bad for the Jets in that situation, because they’ve been calling it later in games like that for a while now. So as a defensive back, you have to know that inconsistencies of the officials could pop up and you get burned for it. It’s a risk you are taking. Hence why i respect bradberry for saying what he did.

We can agree to disagree.  I don't care about the Jets Or the Chiefs.   Even you just saying that the inconsistencies of the officials could pop up is exactly the point people are trying to make. It feels you aren't understanding that.

I mean, literally lining up with your hand on / under the football lol.

I don’t fault them for trying it because you have to try something to stop the shove, even if that means lining up illegally and hoping it doesn’t get called, which it didn’t.

Absolutely inexcusable that they would call offsides on LD, though.

Doesn't bother me that they called LD.  But, if they are actually looking at the LOS that closely, then you call them both.  Defense doesn't get to line up past the ball either. Ld was wrong, so was Payne (or Allen).

Maybe, but I didn’t see an angle where LD was lined up past the ball.

He was slightly ahead of the other lineman, yet still slightly behind Kielce from what I saw.

Either way, WAS was lining up illegally every time, not one call.
