Think it was noteworthy that when Jurgens went down, Opeta was called up instead of Driscoll. I also take it that Steen is not ready at all.

Steen, likely not ready at guard.  I'd rather Steen than Driscoll at tackle if ever needed this season.  I am down on Driscoll.

well he better get ready because if jurgens is out he's getting teh call up as a backup at least.

What did Boston Scott do to get erased from the offense? I've always thought they could upgrade from him but I think he offers a lot more juice and pop than Gainwell does. I know he was coming off a concussion but if you're cleared, you're cleared. He played 17 ST snaps so it's not like they were concerned about him getting injured.

Also, dressing 4 TE to have TE2/3/4 play a grand total of 9 offensive snaps is not a good use of roster spots. Heck, Calcaterra and Stoll didn't even play 50% of the ST snaps so they aren't eve core teamers.

So Next week San Fran plays the Boys.  We don't have to worry about San Fran because we play them in a head to head.   If they beat Dallas.  Good, it knocks them down in the NFC East.  If Dallas wins, then it knocks 49ers down from the #1 Seed.   The Birds need to take care of their own business against the Rams next week.

Puka might have 20 catches

And I know, broken record but I'm over making Kenny Gainwell some kind of clock eating power back.

4 carries for 14 yards with a long of 13 and 2 catches for 7 yards. Terrific.

They need to do a better job of using their RB all around. The RB swing pass to Swift was one of the better pass plays to a RB in some time and the wheel route was there that they missed on. Hurts also isn't seeing Swift on his option routes. It seems like every time Hurts bails the pocket, Swift is just sitting in the middle of the field wide open and they could dump off to him.

Kelce, Jurgens and Johnson are some of the most athletic OL in the league and we never see a RB screen either. Why has this play been erased from the playbook? They ran one to Swift last week and he got good yardage and if he followed the blockers, probably a TD.

Maybe, but I didn’t see an angle where LD was lined up past the ball.

He was slightly ahead of the other lineman, yet still slightly behind Kielce from what I saw.

Either way, WAS was lining up illegally every time, not one call.

He wasn't past Kelce.  He was lined up with his hand even with the ball (same as the WAS DT), which only the Center can do.  OGs and OTs need to be outside the neutral zone (the length of the ball).

It was frankly a ticky tack call to call on the offense, especially as the defense did the exact same thing and no call.  If you are going to be officious, then be equally officious.

He got concussed.  I'll never rag on a team for giving a player extra time, even after cleared from a concussion.  The science isn't that well established for them to know what truly 'cleared' means.

Hurts doesn't seem to see the checkdowns.  He's not the tallest guy, and neither are the check downs.  Meanwhile, our OL is very tall.  Maybe he literally can't see them.

Toast, not that you are saying Jobe is the weak link.

I re-watched the game because I thought Jobe played a good game but some talk on here that he didn't.  I don't see the poor play by Jobe.  I think he played well.  The Dotson TD was a good play and a nice catch.  Little push off on Dotson and a perfectly clean pocket for Howell.  WA leading WR with 86 yards, couple others with 51.  This idea that WR were running up and down the field making plays on Jobe just isn't accurate.

Wonder why Nolan Smith isn't getting many snaps?

For a first round pick you'd expect a bit more usage

I would lean towards Dallas , number one D , 10 points per game allowed , and a top 5 offense

good game none the less

I thought that as well but I mentioned in my post that he played 14 ST snaps, including being KR. Some of the biggest impact plays are on ST. If anything, you'd want to keep him from being in on those plays. So while it would make sense to think it was the concussion kept him off the field for offense, having him on ST debunks that IMO.

I could see them getting some turnovers.  But if McCaffrey gets enough touches.  I don't know.   Belichick did not lean on the run game which didn't work out and Mac turned the ball over. Dallas likes to jump out on teams. Dallas Defense forces a lot of mistakes.  I'd argue their Defense more than Offense is the biggest reason they won these 3 games.  They give that Offense like 2 or 3 scores sometimes.  But once they get behind or in a close game.  They struggle.  Arizona showed that you have to pound and ground against Dallas. I expect Kyle to lean on the running game against them.

Jobe had some struggles - but Slay playing off coverage was nearly as damaging… where on the spectrum is the fault with the player vs. the scheme. Dunno.

Because Reddick and Graham are playing better. I think the plan was to get Smith more snaps yesterday, but Smith played early and had a couple mistakes. The game remained too close throughout and I think they just wanted to lean on the vets.

Reddick/Sweat are going to get ~65% of the snaps , BG playing 35% isn’t a problem… so of the snaps that remain to be allocated (35% or 25-30 snaps) what does Barnett provide that Nolan doesn’t? Pro experience and better size against the run… otherwise not much.

No i actually think Jobe is playing well.

its more that i expect them to eat up the zones in the middle of the field

The head of Football Refereeing over here did a podcast a couple of months back, and one point he made was consistency of decision making and when you do it.  So if you are calling a flag on Sauce Gardener in the final 2 mins but have not in the previous 58, it's an issue, and a game impacting one. Don't change how you officiate based on the game situation.  You can fairly suggest, that the zebras did that to the Jets - we all know Mahomes gets the Manning/Brady calls that someone like Hurts will never do.

Some thoughts on the Chiefs. Glad to see they've changed their name from Patrick Mahomes Kansas City Chiefs, to Taylor Swift's Kansas City Chiefs.

And how soon will eBay be flooded with second hand Women's Travis Kelce jerseys and a Dummies Guide to the NFL?

Was it noted here yesterday that both the TD to Brown and Intentional Grounding plays were audibles called at the line?

It seems the media was questioning Sirianni and Johnson for calling those plays, when it was Hurts to changed into them.

Hurts saw heavy boxes and did what he is coached to do, check to the 1v1 on the perimeter.  I'd argue that he should be coached to not do that in certain game situations.

I'm really, really starting to hate the Chiefs. It's not a jealousy thing. The Superbowl started it, but the blatant bailout flags, Mahomes being a showboating PoS , the whole Taylor Swift thing (can't stand her to begin with), Mahomes' annoying ass wife and brother. The world just watched Brady get his ass kissed for 20 years, I don't think most of us want to see it again for the next 15 years.

Hope they get the absolute snot beat out of them in the playoffs.

Have we tried him out as a LB?

I like her music because she's got a nice voice but they are overdoing it big time. Could have been coincidence but they showed a trailer for her concert in theaters during the commercial break directly after talking about her during the game. They were showing her even when it wasn't Kelce catching a pass. I'm sure they're getting a lot of complaints on twitter

They definitely did it on purpose. No chance that was a coincidence

I haven't watched the PCs, but have any of the coaches offered an explanation for the consistent soft coverage?

I was having PTSD out there from Gannon.  I will never, ever understand how you can play 10 yards off your man on a 3rd and 7.

The Eagles just need to ratchet up the pressure and if they get beat on a great route/throw than so be it.  But this nonsense of allowing pitch/catch all the way down the field is ridiculous.   The DL would have double the number of sacks if coverage wasn't so soft
