Yeah our 3rd base coach has been conservative this season.   At least half the time he holds people they have a decent chance of scoring.  I would wave them around 9/10 times in those situations because you need a perfect throw and a perfect tag to get the out.  And that’s harder to do than to score in those situations.

The Schwarber one i at least understand. Luzardo was reeling. Even bohms fly ball was hard-hit. Don’t want to get a DP that kills an inning due to schwarber being slow and thrown out. The castellanos one makes no sense to send him. No outs and luzardo was falling apart. Everyone that inning had a hit and his pitch count was high.

Honestly F josh bell. That dude hits like below .200 against everyone. Against us he hits like .500

When you clip the zone but miss the spot, you get squeezed.  Hit the spot just outside the zone and you expand the zone.  That’s a part of the fabric of baseball that would be lost with auto zone.

I feel like working the zone is part of the art of the game.  

Very workmanlike win.  No explosive dominance, with Wheeler’s pitching being a possible exception.  Every single player had a positive impact.

That game was far closer than it should have been.  Gotta send Schwarber in the 1st... the way he was tracking to his left... needed to twist his body to get set to throw horrible decision by Watham... that puts them up 1-0 and Luzardo keeps reeling in the first.  Might tack on the other run with Turner... he was wild low early.  

Sending Castellanos was a bad decision given the situation again... Chisholm has too good an arm.

I like him starting at home, at night with Game 1 in the bag.  I think he comes out loose and they take the sweep.   He'll give up 2 long balls... solo shots, but will go 7+ innings.

 

Phillies, on the other hand,  4 HRs are coming tomorrow... a pair of them will be multiple runs.   Phils win tomorrow, 8 - 3.
