We were at game 5 last year.  Just an amazing crowd and overall experience.

Credit to Nola.   This is what he's supposed to be.   And frankly, this performance makes me want to resign him...    

 

7+ innings.    For the 8th, I might consider Kerkering.  Great spot for him to taste playoff baseball with very little pressure.   Just throw that heat and throw that nasty slider off it.   Throw strikes and make them swing.

It looks incredible. Sadly, I’ve yet to get there. The last game I saw was at The Vet. It’s on my bucket list for sure, though. 

Do you let Nola keep going or just give the pen some work and rest him after an easy night?

Best 3 game stretch he’s had all year. He had the two game stretch at the end of august where you hoped he was turning the corner. Then he went to Milwaukee and got destroyed. The Phillies are gonna need him to pitch like this in game 3 vs. atlanta. They need to win the wheeler and nola games. The set up supposedly is Saturday, off day, Monday, off day Wednesday, Thursday, off day then Saturday. So you are gonna get two wheeler starts and a nola start. Likely Ranger in game 1 

They might be better off after this wild card series than they would have been with a break.

Night and day difference.   CBP is just a great baseball venue.   And the atmosphere on top of it?   Unmatched.     I haven't made it to a playoff game, but I was there for the stretch run in 2007 against the Mets in the final week as they were looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 1993.   Was amazing atmosphere.   (I was at the game where Iguchi knocked in Utley.)

Dodgers are gonna have their hands full against the dbacks. Kelly is gonna pitch game 1 and 4. And gallen game 2 and 5. Assuming the dbacks get it to a 4 and 5.

If its Nola at CBP... I feel good about it against the Braves.   And frankly, I feel good about Ranger in Game 1 on the road.   That guy has no pulse on the mound.  Same with Wheeler.   Would be hard to believe that Game 3 could be for a sweep at CBP... but yeah, I feel like it's possible.    Phillies are turning the low smolder into a raging fire at just the right time.  And they still have another gear to hit offensively.

Go to the pen and use the low leverage guys.   Like I said, I give Kerkering a taste, because you might need him later.   He's got electric stuff.

Ranger has been better on the road than at home. And nola vice versa. 

nola home: 3.29 ERA

nola road: 5.43 ERA 

Ranger home: 5.45 era

ranger road: 2.75 ERA

tbh if there’s a game 4 i probably go Sanchez. He’s been solid against atlanta and well rested. Use ranger out of the pen.
