It didn’t look like Bohm was hustling down the line there, or maybe it was the late camera cut that made it look like he wasn’t.

That always irks me, though, because they teach that in Little League, and I hate seeing a lack of hustle in the majors.

I think he may of stumbled out of the box. I’d have to go back and see it. But him swinging at that 1-0 was poor on his part. Was a borderline pitch and one not going to be able to do much with. If you are gonna swing early in a count angainst strider then swing first pitch. Rick Bo pointed out that’s where he gets in trouble. After the first pitch opponents average drops and he tends to get himself into a groove. Even if bohm just takes, strider has to throw more pitches and the goal should be to get him out of the game sooner by making him work.

strider finished the inning with 11 pitches. Likely should’ve had more with how it was going

even that at bat by stott was better. That was a 7 pitch at bat. Made him work

They know when they are dead meat.

Fu€k the Braves.

Phillies doing a wonderful job of giving strider outs and keeping his pitch count lower cause of it.

Nah i dont kind running there. Trying to manufacture a run

Leadoff double… please don’t strand him at second.

Shouldn’t have had schwarber running on that with no outs

Think that's on him 100%.  He has to know the rule.  At second, you go if it's behind you on the ground, you stay if its in front of you on the ground.  That's a little league rule... and for a reason.

But, his move got Turner on base and more speed at 2nd after the WP.   And Turner did it properly... ball was behind him, so he took off.   Shame they couldn't take advantage.

I feel good about tonight's game though.  I think we got quite a window into Strider's mindset with that 'no fans' quote.   I think he's a guy that might let the moment get to him.  Ranger is not.

Yeah, DL is totally stacked. Every position too — you can get a NT, 3 tech, traditional DE, or one of these edge hybrids. I like the DE pairs at both Ohio and Penn State. Would love to get any of the 4 of ‘em, but especially JT Tuimoloau as an eventual Brandon Graham replacement.

QB, I have a fascination with KJ Jefferson from Arkansas. Huge, mobile, good arm, decent accuracy, productive both passing and running. Would love to add him as the 3rd QB.

Speaking of Arkansas, I wonder if Rocket Sanders will drop far enough to be in play for the eagles? He would make one hell of a duo with Swift. This OL with Sanders running? Good lord I would not want to be a defender…

Good year to need a QB

sanders got a lot of miles on him , almost 400 carries in not even 2 and a half years , then he had the knee injury this year missed 3 games .

I have less issue with it when it’s not relamuto. He’s got good speed for a catcher. He’s not Turner or Rojas type speed. Also if you are gonna be aggressive then you should’ve had a hit and run on with bohm that avoids the DP.

Ranger walking the leadoff batter is never good.

Was an absolutely perfect throw.  Anywhere else and he swipes the bag.  That wasn't a bad decision, just a great throw... or more exactly perfect.

My fat ass would still hustle down the line. 😂

The issue is more if you’re going to be aggressive on the base paths then you should’ve been aggressive when Alec Bohm was up. The time to try to manufacture a run would have been there to keep yourself out of a potential double play

Turner walking off the field after the initial call of safe is so badass lol

That was a heck of throw by realmuto. I thought he easily had that with the jump he had.

looked good live. looks good on replay. out.

Bohm had a bad at bat.   What I am seeing is these guys are looking to get to Strider early in the count.  Lots of first pitch swings.  And active on the bases.  Not a bad idea.  We can second guess the Bohm at bat because of the DP but I think the bigger issue was his pitch selection.  He went after a pitcher's pitch.   That usually ends poorly for the batter.

They probably call him safe if he doesn’t.

Perfect throw

It was a great throw, but the throw to get Realmuto was truly perfect.  Albies didn't even have to move the glove.

Strider on the first pitch has a really high opponents batting average. It’s subsequently pitches two through six where the average completely drops. So if you’re going to try getting him the. you’ve got a swing at the first pitch. However, bohm didn’t do that. He took it. So at that point, gotta be committed to try taking pitches to get his count up and not swinging at that pitch 1-0 that was a pitchers pitch

the bohm at bat was bad because he got a pitch going away from him and was a borderline pitch that the pitcher strider wants you swinging at. Really was nothing he could do with it. The best case scenario is bohm gets a blooper down the line, but realistically, the more likely scenario was a ground ball, which is what strider wanted.

I think that is why both Chicago and Arizona are giving serious consideration to trading Field and Murray.

Exactly.  Like I said, swinging at the pitchers' pitch usually ends poorly for the batter.

Yeah, but that’s why I think he’d be great as a rotation guy. Between the injury and down year, does he fall to the bottom of the 2nd or 3rd round? Maybe even later?

He’s a first round talent at a devalued position without the dynamic open field ability teams usually want in a high pick at RB.

But give him 12 rushes to ice a lead, and I think he’d be perfect behind Swift.

They might want to try a different approach cause strider is on pace to throw 108 pitches in 9 innings. Imo if the Phillies are gonna win this it is likely coming against the Braves pen. Strider seems to have settled in so make him get into more 2-2 and 3-2 counts and try to get him out of the game.

Right, but who wants them?

You give up serious draft capital, tens of millions in cap space, for a QB who will never be a difference maker?
