Best I can tell it's not torn or fractured so I could wear a boot but instead I ordered a really stiff running shoe to help with the pain a bit. Should heal well enough on its own if I don't reinjure it apparently. Just hurts like a **** to walk right now.

Depends on the place. The place I worked at for years had 3 or 4 dedicated food runners each shift (who take part of your tips), as well as any servers not doing anything at the moment bring out food. So it was pretty common to not always bring your table their food as a server. That doesn't excuse being gone for an eternity, they should at least be walking by and table touching every now and then. 

Also, I forgot to mention in the first post, tipping out usually depends on sales totals, not actual tips received. So if you can get 18-20% tip, you can still make good money after tipping out. If you end up getting stiffed for whatever reason, the server actually ends up having to pay money for that.

Well as of the last couple episodes, it didn't seem like this was in the cards because they did their prediction shows, so I'm guessing something came together quickly. The Athletic is a big company, so unless their contracts were up and they just weren't renewed they probably got offered a pay raise somewhere. I think The Ringer is the only place that would be willing to do that. Certainly wouldn't get that at Philly Voice or Inquirer.

Can't think of any other company that would offer them the freedom they like while still being able to podcast and stuff.

Not sure who you have nationally, but can't see it being ESPN or NFL. I suspect they come together as a package, so most other outlets won't have that.

They dropped a few subtle hints about what is next but couldn't come out and say what it is. They said if you listened closely to the last few episodes you could get an idea of what it is. I have not so I am not sure where they were going with that but it sounded like it could be a lot more podcasting. They said if you like Birds with Friends then you will really like what is next. They will still be working together and covering the Eagles so you guys are probably right about the Ringer.
