If they plan on making a move, I would assume they’d wait until the weekend when teams are less inclined to claim someone on waivers since they would be forced to make an accompanying roster move themselves. I believe the Eagles got away with waiving Opeta late last year in that exact manner. Snuck him through to the practice squad while everyone else was getting ready for their own games.

I think it’s a worthwhile move to stash that type on the PS, so no complaints here.  BUT…that’s a bad combo for LB, IMO.  DL, edge rushers, deep threats, even OTs who are raw…those are positions where it’s interesting to coach up raw athletes.  OT and WR still require a lot of technique, but that can often be taught.

IMO, LB is all about instincts.  The best athlete on the field is going to be useless if the first step is delayed and in the wrong direction.  Everything is read and react.

Our own history supports that.  Howie has killed it when drafting top athletes at OT, DL, WR (and really struggled when drafting sub par ones).  The top athletes he’s drafted at LB have been quite disappointing.

Defense could know exactly where it's going and I'd bet it wouldn't matter much. Eagles have the superior line and a QB who can use his lower body to generate an incredible amount of force. It's that simple.

As far as the word "jawn” goes, our generation (gen x) pretty much invented it during the 80’s.

 

The closest reference to a real word would be the word "joint”.    Basically started like that and evolved to the word "jawn”.   Like that’s a cool "joint/jawn” Or pass that "joint/jawn”.  Let me see that "jawn”.   And yes it’s a noun.   It’s basically the word "joint” but now pronounced "jawn” and used for just about anything.

What’s up with Jalen Carter’s ankle?  Did he injure it in practice this week?  He was dominant well into the second half on Sunday. Is this precautionary or what’s the deal?

It's odd because he practiced fully yesterday and didn't miss any practice time. My best guess is he tweaked it at some point yesterday and woke up sore. Probably just precautionary.

Hope so…He is becoming my favorite player to watch on game day.  And it would be a damn shame if he missed his opportunity against this offensive line.

There's nothing on Carter out there besides he didn't practice today. Slay seems trending to not playing just because he hasn't practiced all week, but nothing official.
