I think most excited just to watch this new defense.  New era on that side of the ball with all the young guys taking prominent roles and the new DC.

As much as it pains me to say it, I agree with RTK. This is one of the easier games the D will have on paper this year. I wanna see them kept under 20 with 3+ sacks and 1+ turnovers.

Jalen Carter begins his DROY campaign tomorrow.

Jalen, where is my care package?

Considering how bad we were at stopping the run last year, and how the Pats offense is basically designed to attack lbs and safeties, i think it is a really good test for us.

After over 200 days of meaningful football we are less under 24 hours away from real football from the eagles.

Do you have an Irish spin on the projected season record and/or Sunday’s game score?

Guess what time it is

Agreed.  It could be a coming out party for Davis, Carter, and Dean

Time to celebrate kids who beat cancer?

I don’t think Eagles matchup particularly well with what Patriots offense wants to be. The good news is I don’t think they are good enough to put up a ton of points.

Besides stopping the run game, I suspect Patriots will run a lot of "12” with Gesicki in the slot just being a big WR. I think they will want to test Dean early and often and work the middle of the field.

We celebrate anyone and everyone who beats cancer!

Yes... but it was officially that tonight at the ball park.

Castellanos batting 8 tonight.   I think he needs a standing O.

I have never done one. Don't want to jinx us by starting now.

Yeah it is.  Eagles had a QB on a rookie contact up until a few months ago but they didn't have $41M in cap space.  Meanwhile the 49ers have had a contending roster for about 5 years now.

1-3 in NFC Championship games during that time span. Maybe they should splurge a little and use the cap. Pretty clear they're missing a franchise QB.

One area to look out for is tackling/conditioning. Rhamondre Stevenson is a tank and a load to bring down. I can see him wearing the defense down a little bit. With the Patriots having next to nothing at WR as well as crappy weather, I can see them leaning heavily on him.

They did it to help with the cap next year by rolling most of it over. According to overthecap they are 24.48 mil over in 2024.

Howie carries dead cap space around like a badge of honor...  but he has created a far better roster and spends big money on the OL.  Meanwhile the 49ers OL couldn't protect their QB at all last year and they had 4 QB injuries last season alone.

No not at the moment.

Yeah, him and Zeke are gonna get a lot of touches.

The strange thing is that restructuring a contract rarely saves money from one year to the next unless there are a bunch of void years involved. It makes zero sense to restructure a contract to push money into next season to only create cap space to roll over, as they cancel out.

Add on it is not just last year under Kyle Shanahan that he’s had a lot of injuries at quarterback. It’s been that way for most of his tenure with the Niners.
