If this team wants me to take them seriously going forward, I'd like to see the following. Nick has shown he will shake things up.

1. James Bradberry -- welcome to being deactivated. Until Slay is back, start Ringo and Ricks and rotate in Jobe. Roby in the slot. At the very worst, they get experience against weaker pass offenses. I don't fault Howie for resigning him - a dropoff was expected, but he went from 2nd team all-pro to hot garbage.

2. Play Sydney Brown a LOT more. 3 safety looks work for us.

3. Keep Shaq Leonard off the field.

4. Keep Quez off the field -- give his snaps to Oz and Julio. At least those guys put forward effort.

5. Activate Penny (OK, this won't happen)

I’d play ward over quez and julio. And i don’t even think ward is good. But he can give you more than both of those guys now

For those that more clearly remember what was the 1994 season, the last under Kotite, like… the reasons attributed to that collapse?

Damn refs!

Seriously though, that 7 game skid started with a home loss to the Browns where Byron Evans was lost for the season, (and ultimately his career I think, but could be wrong). Things just snowballed from there.

Yea. Great blitz to drop Reddick into coverage on Lockett to blitz Roby.

It’s cause they are eliminated that it’s 3-4 more weeks

They were blitzing when they dropped Reddick into coverage?

Master Lock was 4-4 on 3rd and 10+ in this game and had 158.3. I believe Schwartz just cursed the defense when he got fired/left with 3rd and long being our Achilles heel

Damn! Was hoping to see Jets vs Pats with Aaron Rodgers. Must see TV there.

Last night sucked, but there are examples of teams over the years that sucked in Dec only to figure it out when the playoffs started.

It's not likely, but it's not zero chance either.

This team has ZERO shot

He’s solid for those 6-7 yard dump offs when nothing else is open and yes, that’s exactly what this offense needs right now.

Yeah that's a good point. I'd like to know if these deep passes on 3rd and short are by design or something Hurts is deciding. Either way they are quite bizarre and definitely drive killers.

I've got no trouble with deep passes on 3rd and short, if the plan is to Shove on 4th.   But, they don't.

Yeah F Schwartz for doing that.

All the offensive coaches have to go. It was a travesty that McCaffery sitting with the Mannings predicted the play before the snap. Also we have had 20+ points at the half zero times. You know how many times we had 20+ points at the half last year? 10 times.

Man this place is off the hook today. The chaos!

Yea, that was on the 3rd and 10 that Lockett converted. It's at 1:21 in the video. Brown and Roby blitzed with Sweat, Graham, Cox while Reddick dropped

The problem isn't Hurts, he's on[e] of the best pocket passers in the league. But the knee injury has cost him the burst that made the RPO work, but it was time to start moving on from the RPO in any case. But moving away from the RPO exposed the OL, Lane just isn't an elite player anymore, Jurgens hasn't stayed healthy at RG. They can run the ball, but not consistently.

There is far too much reliance on asking Brown and Smith to win one on one battles consistently, against any defense with good CBs, that ain't gonna happen every play. They don't have a competent 3rd WR, 2 TE, or use their RBs in the passing game efficiently. Johnson deserves some of the blame, but so does Siri, I'd bring in an OC who's worked with Shanahan/Reid and who can incorporate a short passing game into the offense - throw away the WR screens and learn how to run a conventional screen game (AR was brilliant at it with no more talent on his OLs).

But Howie deserves a lot of blame, he's too loyal to players who delivered for him, Bradberry had a very good year last season, but given his track record, shouldn't have counted on a repeat. Maddox got hurt again. Dean never developed or stayed healthy. But the real problem has been the DL, Cox got overused early b/c Howie didn't bring in a veteran DL to replace Hargrave in the short-run, Barnett was so bad Williams had to play DE, Smith needs a year in the weight room and so on. Asking Carter to carry the defense as a rookie is a bit much, no matter how talented.

Not sure they can fix much, other than hope that Brown and Ringo keep improving the next few games and solidify the secondary. Jobe and Ricks have proven they just aren't NFL material. Not sure what they can do at LB other than hope Leonard plays better with reps and health. On the offense, use the middle of the field, be more patient and use Swift as a receiver more and get him into space with the ball.

If they have a quick exit from the playoffs, Howie should "blow it up," eat a bunch of dead money, dump a lot of veterans, go with kids for a year, build a war chest, and take a step back to reload for 2025.

I couldn't get past this...

Maybe you could impart some aviation physics knowledge onto Jalen so that he doesn’t under throw receivers when he is forcing the ball downfield?  Perhaps altitude or azimuth?

Trouble is he pitched when he should have yawed.   There's just no place for that in the NFL.

The drive in the third was the first drive after halftime. I’d assume they spent the break in time drawing up a rough script for that drive based off what they saw in the first half.

That makes sense.

I still feel like this team shoots itself in the foot by abandoning what’s working for them. With 10:00 minutes left in the game, it made more sense for another long, methodical drive that chewed up the clock—not a deep shot to Watkins on 2nd and 5. Go up 24-13, make it a two-possession game, and get out of there with the win.

I know nothing is that simple, and there are a lot of variables that can affect the outcome. However, those three drives were proven solid. So why not go back to that formula, especially when Seattle had trouble stopping it before?

You don’t have to reply to this. I’m just frustrated because this was a very winnable game, and for whatever reason, we chose to piss it away by targeting Quez, of all people.

Yeah F Schwartz for doing that.

We lost a Titans game in 2018 because we gave up a 4th and 15 in OT with bad sticks defense.

The only question left with Bradberry is do you make him a post 6/1 release and delay most of the cap hit to 2025?

Wow.  I remember you freaking out about it last night.   That’s insane.
