I call it soccer, because that's what it is, most boring Fing "sport" on the planet next to golf and curling

Truly ignorant comment.  Curling is amazing.    The only winter Olympic sport worth watching.  I DVR ever match they televise.

A few years ago the US Nationals had their tournament a few miles from me.  What a great week of curling that was.   Got a chance to rub elbows with a few Olympians too.  Had a nice chat with the lead from the Olympic team that went to Vancouver.  Nice guy, and a full-time plumber who curls as a hobby.

For those that more clearly remember what was the 1994 season, the last under Kotite, like… the reasons attributed to that collapse?

IIRC, most of the blame for that was (correctly) pinned on Kotite being a moron that was a very bad choice for the job.

In reality, the problem was mostly that the Eagles had made such terrible draft picks over years combined with the fact that so much talent had left town.

And thanks for the memories, this does feel the same...

We lost a Titans game in 2018 because we gave up a 4th and 15 in OT with bad sticks defense.

Today I learned that AJ Brown posts in TATE

I just think that it’s more than the 3 game slide though… It’s the manner of it. It’s the way this team looks broken. It’s the way this team looks clueless.

SF simply beat the crap out of them once that first quarter of emotional domination by the Eagles was over.  SF came to destroy and they are the best team in the league.  From there, by the time the Dallas game came around the team was completely out of juice.

I think the biggest problem is the turmoil from this week. That was and is very damaging.  A win would have moved the needle the other way but of course that didn't happen.

Bottom line, the team isn't the Super Bowl that the vast majority of us thought they were.  However, they aren't a 4-10 or even an 8-8 team either.

Master Lock was 4-4 on 3rd and 10+ in this game and had 158.3. I believe Schwartz just cursed the defense when he got fired/left with 3rd and long being our Achilles heel

Schwartz wasn't fired.  He just didn't want his contract renewed.

The only question left with Bradberry is do you make him a post 6/1 release and delay most of the cap hit to 2025?

Yes, because there's no downside to post June 1 cuts unless your team is cheap.

Damn we missed the contender cut off by a couple of weeks.

Was going to make a similar comment!

Ok, that's a relief that I am just a source and not complicit in any way, @Godfatherneeds to keep a distance.

Yeh, there were some stories that went around back in the day, honestly manufactured by Skip. He worked at the time for the Dallas Herald Banner which was put out of business by the Dallas Morning News. He bounced around and after writing some things attacking Aikman, and Tom Landry, pretty much got himself run out of town...SI just wrote a piece about it this past summer. Skip is a piece of $hit...who thinks people care what he has to say.

That makes sense.

I still feel like this team shoots itself in the foot by abandoning what’s working for them. With 10:00 minutes left in the game, it made more sense for another long, methodical drive that chewed up the clock—not a deep shot to Watkins on 2nd and 5. Go up 24-13, make it a two-possession game, and get out of there with the win.

I know nothing is that simple, and there are a lot of variables that can affect the outcome. However, those three drives were proven solid. So why not go back to that formula, especially when Seattle had trouble stopping it before?

You don’t have to reply to this. I’m just frustrated because this was a very winnable game, and for whatever reason, we chose to piss it away by targeting Quez, of all people.

I didn't mean to call you bad words

They actually have a curling league down here in Orlando.  I few co-workers and I joked that we should join it because it’s the only chance we’d ever have at making the Olympics at our ages, etc

If this team wants me to take them seriously going forward, I'd like to see the following. Nick has shown he will shake things up.

1. James Bradberry -- welcome to being deactivated. Until Slay is back, start Ringo and Ricks and rotate in Jobe. Roby in the slot. At the very worst, they get experience against weaker pass offenses. I don't fault Howie for resigning him - a dropoff was expected, but he went from 2nd team all-pro to hot garbage.

2. Play Sydney Brown a LOT more. 3 safety looks work for us.

3. Keep Shaq Leonard off the field.

4. Keep Quez off the field -- give his snaps to Oz and Julio. At least those guys put forward effort.

5. Activate Penny (OK, this won't happen)

One thing I'll say about Sydney is that at least HE WAS AT THE RIGHT PLACE.  He has to tackle better (much) but he was at the right place multiple times.  That is a huge improvement.

Morrow has shown his length the last two games defending critical passes in the middle.  And I thought did a good job last night.  Leonard looks played out.

I would like Penny too but almost all the straight ahead dive running plays worked fine with either back.  The problem is they never want to throw to our RBs on designed forward screens. Which makes me NUTS. But yes, some smash mouth football with Penny would be great.

Quez has a new nickname:

That's all you can really do. I doubt anyone trades for that contract and I don't see how you can rely on him next year.

In most cases you want to do a post June 1 release, at least on larger contracts.

He technically retired because of "health issues" aka get me the hell out of here in the NFL world.

Im gonna guess that was due to analytics.

Eagles FO is so entrenched in what the analytics say that it takes the natural instincts out of coaching.

Analytics doesnt take into account the flow of the current game or in game circumstances, its all mathematical which is great if were counting cards in vegas but this isnt black Jack its football and so much about football is feel and counter moves and adjustment none of which analytics takes into account.

Its why you see stupid calls like a run on 3rd and 6 inside the 20 leading to a FG...😒

Its why you see zero blitzes on a 10 pass plays with a 1:30 left.

Analytics have their place in football but to lean so far into the analytics to where it dictates ones whole game plan and execution leads to predictable heartless football...☹️

The Eagles next DC, I hope it's a veteran guy with experience. Don't have the time to guess who can be the next hot new DC and risk another swing and miss. Dennis Allen, Robert Saleh, Mike Zimmer. Give me someone proven to have coached good defenses before.

On the plus side oline was good, Ringo looks like a real one, and Sydney Brown effort. He just needs more discipline

I wonder if he would have considered staying as a head coach.
