I think Hurts will end up being fine with a new coordinator next season, but between his deal and Wentz’s it’s wild how they can’t get past a year after their new deal without the fear or concern of buyer’s remorse.

I know it's bleek but not giving up on this team until they are eliminated. Playoffs could be different and they lock in or more of the same. We shall see. I've witnessed a 9-7 and a 10-6 team in this very division get hot and do the improbable. Go birds!

Someone needs to rip the fing bandaid off and demote the ocoord like they did with the dcoord. Let’s be real

I think it’s the coordinator thing. Tom Moore was Manning’s OC for the first 10 years of his career. Joe Philbin was Aaron Rodgers’ OC for his first 5 years of playing. Charlie Weis was Brady’s OC for his first 5 years. Flacco had Cam Cameron his entire rookie contract, Matt Ryan had Mike Murlacky for the first 4 of his 7 9+ win seasons. We’ve seen what OC troubles have done to Josh Allen, have done to Derek Carr, did to Tua.

Im pretty confident in saying that most here wouldn’t have expected us to be in this predicament had Steichen stayed. I’m not taking all the blame off Hurts, but Johnson was just a bad hire.

What was Jalen referring to about "committed?”

He doesn’t even know. He didn’t have a dictionary!

Thinking this team was ever Super Bowl bound was crazy, and we should all be committed to the nuthouse.

But seriously did he misspeak? Like I don’t get the reference? Did some players take an extra day off?

Bradberry useless. Bench him.

Quez useless. Bench him.

Leonard useless. Bench him.

Activate Penny and run pistol a bunch too.

Bubble screen is removed from the playbook FOREVER.  All screens must be forward of the LOS only and MUST go to Goedert or Swift (or relieving RB, whichever it is).

3rd and 3 to 7 yards, Hurts MUST throw a slant to AJ or Goedert, no matter what.

3rd and 1-2 MUST do tush push alignment and run it or a derivation from it.

Play caller whoever it is (if it isn't BJ)-relieve him.

All reads should be reversed and made half field too, to make it easy to see short medium long.

Insert some snaps from under center.

There. I fixed a bunch of stuff.

I have a great idea said Howie. Let's bring back the guy who blew the SB to a multi year deal.

I said this earlier, he was upset at jake elliott for not being committed to being bad like the rest of the team.

Josh McCown and Chad Pennington’s sons are dueling against each other in this UTSA/Marshall game. Both quarterbacks. And I feel old.

I'm concerned that Jalen isn't going to be the guy.

I say that as an internal thought amongst online friends...friends who bash me for being negative.

If I were in charge, the direction is obvious.  Support Hurts, go all in on fixing and supporting him.  Re-evaluate after 2024 season.  Nothing to do about it now except rally around him.  If I were a talking head, I wouldn't dare publicize this thought after all the crow I gladly ate in 2022.

But a 6' QB with an average at best arm who is losing speed as a runner and has acquired a major penchant for turnovers and misreads...on a $250m contract.  I mean...those are all facts there.  He may be better than 2023, but I don't know if he'll ever be as good as 2022.  And given his contract, he'll almost certainly never be surrounded by a team as good as 2022 again.

I said last year before the Super Bowl that this might be their best chance to win a SB with hurts and this current group of players. He was cheap and playing like the best Qb in the nfl, they had everyone healthy for that Super Bowl and they were the favorite heading into the game. Guys like kelce, lane, graham and Cox are close to the end. You were gonna lose a lot of these defensive players. Going to have to pay hurts which means he’s gonna have to consistently play like 2022 and maybe even better as the roster around him may not be as talent. Personally i don’t think he’s mahomes or burrow or Allen. I think he’s a tier below them. I am hoping it wasn’t their best opportunity and they can begin to just hit on draft pick after draft pick but there’s the realm of possibilities m that it ultimately might have been their best shot.

that said, I kind of wish the Eagles would do what the Chiefs did on defense in 2022. they went out and had a couple of veterans but played a lot of young kids. They let them have their growing pains. And they weren’t that great of a defense in 2022. But you saw the young kids get better and better as the season went on. They still struggled but the experience and playing eventually made a difference for them this year. I think the eagles got to start drafting guys, letting them play and take their lumps. That said they have to start identifying and developing the guys in draft better particularly at linebacker, safety and corner. They can dabble in free agency but i don’t think you want to just keep relying on 6 of your 11 starters just be free agents/trades

Absolutely and you could argue that the talent is better on offense and that makes Johnson worse than Desai at this point. Worst thing about that is that our Head Coach is an offensive mind and letting this happen.

There are game day problems and then there are franchise problems.

The consistent game day problems are irrational playcalling on offense, inconsistent offense, and bad defense from a soft scheme and bad LB/DBs.  The individuals who take that heat are the OC, DC, and some defensive personnel.

But franchise problems rise to the most important individuals who are not living up to expectations…and that’s coach and QB.  A quality offensive HC and his $250m qb simply should not be derailed by a first year OC who is in over his head.  Elite HCs and QBs are going to deal with their OCs getting poached for HC jobs on a regular basis.  And if they can’t handle that, they won’t have sustained success in this league.  Same crap happened with Doug and Wentz.

Johnson isn’t the problem.
