2nd worst defense playing on Christmas yes?

Great moment.   So, he doesn't know what commitment means.   Or his fever was so high he hit delirium.

I'm concerned that Jalen isn't going to be the guy.

I say that as an internal thought amongst online friends...friends who bash me for being negative.

If I were in charge, the direction is obvious.  Support Hurts, go all in on fixing and supporting him.  Re-evaluate after 2024 season.  Nothing to do about it now except rally around him.  If I were a talking head, I wouldn't dare publicize this thought after all the crow I gladly ate in 2022.

But a 6' QB with an average at best arm who is losing speed as a runner and has acquired a major penchant for turnovers and misreads...on a $250m contract.  I mean...those are all facts there.  He may be better than 2023, but I don't know if he'll ever be as good as 2022.  And given his contract, he'll almost certainly never be surrounded by a team as good as 2022 again.

Agree with you 100% and it's a shame that for some reason we have to walk on egg shells in order to criticize Hurts when it's completely deserved.

Not sure how much further they have to go in to support him. He has a top 5, $100 million best friend WR, Heisman Trophy WR, Top 5 TE, Top 3 OL and when used, a very solid RB. The only more support he needs is play calling but even when you look at the play calling, Hurts is missing WIDE OPEN players and still bailing from the pocket. Those are Hurts issues, not a lack of support.

It's also 100% fair to compare Hurts to Wentz at this point. I'd argue that Wentz never had the support that Hurts has. Brian Johnson was a move made for Hurts. AJ Brown was a move made for Hurts. Everything they are doing is to benefit Hurts. The Eagles gave Wentz Greg Ward and said good luck.

The coaching has to be better but Hurts has all the support in the world around him.

That was the weirdest part to me. Hopefully he’s like all of us when sick and was just being irritable.

Oddly enough I thought Hurts was at his best all season running yesterday and he was sick. The knee is getting better week by week. The only thing that can probably help with the offensive output is a similar shift they made in 2021 where they went to a more run-centric offense. Granted if you get the defense you got against Dallas and SF it won’t matter, but a similar game the defense had yesterday outside of that final disaster drive makes it work. You would probably need Penny activated for that which they refuse to do. But even Scott can contribute in that role.

But the other part of that is do they want their $250 million QB handing the ball off 30+ times a game. Buffalo didn’t have a problem letting Josh Allen do it Sunday. This was basically the offense they used in both playoff games last year as well. Hurts pretty much had bye weeks all the way to the Super Bowl. Maybe this could help him reset a little bit.

Wasn't it KC that was forced into starting a bunch of rookies in the secondary last year during their run?

I mentioned it earlier - KC has had issues with their defense over the last several years but their offense dominated and controlled games, despite their defense and have 2 rings to show for it.

The amount of overall talent on this Eagles offense is easily comparable to the talent the Chiefs had on offense those years when their defense was lacking.

On what measure is the Commanders defense the worst?   If its based on how they make me feel, I enjoy watching them struggle... meanwhile, I get angry, sad and also feel emotions I can't even describe watching this Eagles defense.   I declare the Eagles to be the worst.

I feel like I’m missing something here. Is it really just Rivers, Tyrod Taylor, Herbert and Stick to start since 2005?? That’s crazy.

Eagles might have 15 since then

Rivers never missed a game as a starter.

Bradberry useless. Bench him.

Quez useless. Bench him.

Leonard useless. Bench him.

Activate Penny and run pistol a bunch too.

Bubble screen is removed from the playbook FOREVER.  All screens must be forward of the LOS only and MUST go to Goedert or Swift (or relieving RB, whichever it is).

3rd and 3 to 7 yards, Hurts MUST throw a slant to AJ or Goedert, no matter what.

3rd and 1-2 MUST do tush push alignment and run it or a derivation from it.

Play caller whoever it is (if it isn't BJ)-relieve him.

All reads should be reversed and made half field too, to make it easy to see short medium long.

Insert some snaps from under center.

There. I fixed a bunch of stuff.

That's pretty good.  I would say that the vets across the board should be playing fewer snaps and the rookies and younger players should be playing more.  Specifically I'd like more Nolan Smith Kelee Ringo Sydney Brown  Ben VanSumeren Britain Covey.

Not at all man, today was a cool day here. Crappy weekend for the NFC EAST but folks here were cutting up making the best out of a frustrating situation. True fanatics have to deal the best they can when crap ain’t going right.

Well, the Eagles sure are shaking things up.   First replaced Desai with Patricia, but now the really out of the box decision to replace Sirianni with Tortorella.

We do know this... with Tortorella at the helm, we should see maximum effort, especially from the 4th line guys.

I've heard it all. A guy called WIP and said his solution to fix the Eagles is have the team pray more. And they should pray extra because it's Jesus' birthday coming up in a week.

Next thing you know the NFL will have a penalty box on the sideline for unsportsmanlike calls.😅

Clips like this come out every week of him just missing guys wide open. Johnson isn’t perfect, but people acting like he’s 100% responsible for the decline in the offense are wrong or don’t want to admit that Hurts shares a large part.

exactly right.  Hurts isnt making the correct read and its alot

Been saying this all year. Where is the power run game and letting the Eagles OL be road graders?

Prior to last night, the defense hasn’t really allowed them to use this type of offense. They were trailing at half six straight games and were in comeback mode. Game was basically over by half against SF and DAL. Every time they get down it’s panic mode. They were using the run game fine yesterday before Hurts went into YOLO mode.

I dunno. Again, it's really really important to understand progressions and how they work. You go through them in order. Just because someone looks more open than another guy doesn't mean they get the ball because the read order isn't that way. If a QB sees read 2 is open by NFL standards (open enough) and read 4 is wide ass open down the sideline, a lot of times the QB won't see that because that's not the order they're reading in - particularly if the reads are to opposite sides of the field.

In fact, for that to happen, what the QB actually needs to do is come OFF their progressions, rather than make the "correct" read. In that circumstance, sticking to and making the right read is actually the "problem". I'm not saying that's what happens in that video, I'm just saying it's really important to understand that must be taken into account when looking at QB play.
