I tend to agree that generally Bradberry is decent.  He just happens to be the guy that gets beat pretty bad (ever so often) and that’s what we tend to remember, unfortunately.

I can certainly agree with that. When he gets beat, it’s usually very badly.

hes been beat over the top in man coverage a bunch this season. Hes still good in man.

In the game against SF where everyone complained about out secondary, he and slay gave up next to nothing all game. (Slay tackled very poorly though).

Slay has often caught flack for actual good games by him. People often mis-assign blame to our CBs and likely the narrative about Bradberry is much worse than he deserves.

Pretty much this.  Good post.

And that’s the question that I’m asking.. could one of the younger guys play better / get better results? Of course I’m not seeing what the coaches are seeing in practices etc., so I don’t have all the info. Didn’t they perform pretty well against the Seahawks?🤔

They did last Monday night.   When the game was on the line, it was Bradberry that was targeted.  REPEATEDLY.

Disagree

players like cbs and rbs tend to fall off a cliff bc they are so reliant on speed

So you think he’s been put in position to succeed this year? Yikes.

I’m always skeptical when a player, or in the case of the 2023 Eagles, players, fall completely off a cliff from one year to the next.

It just typically doesn’t happen like that. Player decline is more gradual.

So, 99% of the time it’s a result of bad coaching. Which I believe is the case across a majority of the team so far this year.

Although, I’m actually very optimistic about Patricia…not only for the remainder of this year, but for the future also.

CB’s fall off cliffs, especially when they lose a step, which Bradberry has. Coaching could be playing a hand in it but I think his biggest issue is he’s just slow

Over the last 3 weeks, when Bradberry has been targeted the QB’s passer rating is 158.3

I’m sure there’s some decline there, but not nearly as drastic as we’ve seen this year.

The defensive coaching has been a literal clown show. They had the guy playing in the slot which was criminal.

My rosy prediction.  Fire BJ.

Eagles - 17

Giants = 24

* Bonus: Eagles lose the turnover battle again.

So do you think he was targeted repeatedly because he was the weak link, at least in this game, or due to other reasons?

Well, yea, I won’t argue the slot debacle. That was a stupid idea before the fact.

Imagine if it could go higher.

Some alarming Eagles offensive numbers from Deniz. For those who hate the play calling.

Runs on expected pass downs from inside the 10 yard line(2nd & 5+, 3rd/4th & 3+)

In 2022 they ran 57% of the time. They were successful 52% of the runs and 38% of the passes.

In 2023 they run 67% of the time. They've run 16 times in these situations. Only been successful on 4 of them.

On 3rd and 4th down & 3+ they've run it 9 times and only have passed 4 times in those situations.

The craziest one: on 3rd & 8+ inside the 10 yard line have been in 4 of those situations this season and have run the ball on all 4 of those situations. Have not thrown once in one of those situations.

So basically inside the 10 on obvious passing situations, this season they've been running the ball an extraordinary amount and have been running it very ineffectively.

Even with a salary cap, the same big spenders would still spend more.  Small market teams would do everything they can to just hit the cap floor, large market teams would pay any of the fees associated with exceeding the cap.  Even with a hard cap, it would likely be in the $200 million range and teams like Pittsburgh would never get close.  Money talks no matter what.

There is no other solution than to have a hard salary cap that would be affordable for all teams.  If the Dodgers don't like it, they can pass along some of their profits to Pittsburgh.  Other than striking it rich with a few unbelievably good drafts, teams like the Pirates have absolutely no hope of even winning anything.    Baseball is about to make itself irrelevant because only a small handful of rich teams even have a chance of winning anything.

Draw your own conclusion.  It wasn't the fact that they threw to the same WR each time, but he was covering their target each time they had success.

Don't worry.  He's only 30.  Plenty of time to refine his craft.

If I were him, I’d stop complaining about being cut cause I’d have a lot more time to be balls deep in HER amazing fullback.

How's the saying go? "For every drop dead gorgeous woman, there's a man that's tired of her crap"

Deniz was rattling off all the top WRs in the NFL in receiving yards for how many yards they get when put in motion. All of them range between like 18-20% of their receiving yards on the season come in motion. AJ Brown has 2 catches for like 10 yards this season when put in motion, which is 1% of his yards.

If I'm the Passing Paisano, I'm throwing the ball to whoever Bradberry is covering.

It's mostly been that way for a while now.  Tampa bucks the trends with good drafting and exquisite player development.  The Pirates have a business model that makes the owner money: keep the payroll and team uncompetitive, take in enough in ticket sales, parking, etc. to cover payroll and profit from the revenue share for small market teams.

Try what? Maybe back up what you supposedly disagree with.
