Weirdest season I’ve personally ever watched (been watching over 30 years).

Never been so confused about an 11-4 team.

Taking my son up to the Linc for his first game next week. I hope they can manage one enjoyable game for the season.

All the negativity aside, winning the NFC East back to back would be quite the accomplishment. Nice that we were also the last ones to pull it off.

It's crazy to think Andy/Donovan Era 2001-2004 Eagles won 4 straight Division Titles and then no team has won back to back since. I was literally getting out of College and starting my life as an Adult at the time.  The Birds are also dealing with the "Super Bowl Losers" curse too.  This team is actually defying the odds to be in the position their in.   With that said, they still have to finish these last two games out strong.   There were problems but I try to look at the compete picture.   This team is going against a lot of Historical trends by having an 11-4 record after losing the Super Bowl.

Sheesh. Fellas we're 11-4 and have a legit shot at the 1 seed. All while playing a beast of a schedule.

Lighten up. You'd think we were 6-9 or something with the mood around here.

I think to be honest the Cowboys losing the last 2 and SF being handled at home yesterday will help the mood. Suddenly the gap doesn’t look quite as big.

For all the heat the Offense gets.  If I'm being honest, they are the reason we've won most of the 11 games this year.  Defense has tried to give multiple games away.   I blame Jalen and the Offense really for one loss this season an that's the Jets Loss (Coaching was a problem too that game).  49ers, Cowboys and Yes Seahawks were  mostly on the Defense.  Offense didn't play well those games too but the Defense was giving up scoring drive after scoring drive.   Even last night, the Defense started to play prevent and little soft and Tyrod made us pay.  I give the Defense props for (Tampa, Miami and KC) Games.  They also did good during the Jets game too.  But you do not give up 95 yard drive to Drew Lock, unacceptable.   You also don't let Tyrod cold off the bench almost cook you on Christmas.   But despite all of that.  The Birds are sitting pretty at 11-4 with only two more regular season games to go.

Tell the players, even they don’t think their record is indicative of the quality of their team.

It’s time to stop lecturing fans about the record of this team. We have eyes.

Sure, historical trends and odds plus their record are all super positive achievements, but their play isn’t as a whole.
I’ve seen Eagles teams with a worse record look better and instill more confidence that they can go deep into the playoffs. This team doesn’t do that for me, but that means nothing. I would definitely enjoy being wrong and seeing them win in the playoffs.

I’d argue the 9ers game may have been very different if we converted on those 2 opening drives and were 14-0 up. Against Dallas we fumbled 3 times in Dallas territory which left points off the board. And against Seattle the offense had numerous opportunities to put the game out of sight. The defense played ok against Seattle until that final drive but the game should have been over by then.

Now, if there’s any reason for optimism, it’s that we have some nice young players on defense that are getting some quality reps right now.

And we should get key players back in the lineup heading in to the playoffs.

But they better figure this morale thing out, otherwise none of it will matter.

Part of the bad feelings is that we can all see how many excellent players we have on the team.  The O is filled with stars and while we are pretty thin on D we do still have an excellent DL.  The one positive on D is that the young DBs are slowly improving.  Too bad the LBs are so bad.  Even that @VanHammersly dude we had in there yesterday looked ok compared to what we have had going on the last several games.

How about the mood in the locker room? Smitty hates how they’re playing. AJ has nothing good to say. Hurts has said several times throughout the year they haven’t played their best ball yet, and nothing changes.

The mood is due to the fact that more and more people are less blind to the fact that this is a fraudulent team hidden by a good record, who has yet to play a solid 4 quarters this season. Only two games left in the regular season, and this team seems to be in the same group as the 2020 Steelers, 2021 Titans, and 2022 Vikings. Frauds hidden by good records.

Yeah I agree, the Offense did not play well those games overall. But in Seattle, they had a 4 point lead with less than 2 minutes with Drew Locked backed up behind the 10.  I blame the Defense for not closing out that game.  As for 49ers and Cowboys, when your Defense is giving up 6 straight Scoring Drives that's just too big of  hole to dig out of.  Remember the Bills game?, Offense had to up 37 points to win that game. Remember both Washington games?  Defense had Sam Howell looking great.  Remember Patriots?  Mac Jones best game all year was against the Eagles.  I mean we made too many average QB's look good, that's on the Defense.   I was trying to be positive on the Defense but looking back, Offense has saved this season overall if we are being truly honest.

Offense takes plenty of blame for Seattle. 17 points is unacceptable in today’s NFL, especially with our offense. If they score in mid 20’s even, that 92 yard drive is moot.

Look I’m not real high on the team but this team has beaten Miami, beaten KC, beaten Buffalo and beaten Dallas. This team has beaten some really good teams this year.

Its also been beaten up on in games too.

The truth is we don’t know how good this team is or can be. And there’s a lot of very average teams this year. It’ll be whoever catches form at the right time.

The thing about this team is, when the defense actually doesn’t play atrocious and somewhat competent, the offense play sub par and not to their abilities. That what I mean about non-complimentary.
The defense gave up the long TD drive to Lock and company, but it should have never come down to that. With a good performance by the O, that game would not have been close.

How long until a change is made st OC? Or even HC? Between Brown and Smith's comments it seems like the players are not happy at all, at what point is there a lack of GAF by the players because they know the coaching staff is incompetent?

Honestly. I looked at the offense from the Super Bowl. And what I found is that it actually had most of the problems we've had this season, but they were more successful. I don't think a change to the OC will make as big of a difference as we think if it's a normal OC change. I think Steichen is "special" but not in the normal way - I think he's one of the few people who can coordinate an offense this simple to success. This puts Sirianni in a real bind because it means he basically learned a mostly ineffective offensive scheme.

The way you get out of this kind of problem is a fresh perspective, and I think the only way to do that is to both fire the OC AND rip up the scheme...
Or bring in a new Senior Offensive assistant who can work with the scheme and 'update' it to modern NFL standards.

Play calling was better, a lot more intentional short stuff, as well as motion. But Sirianni is behind the curve here - young coaches with not a lot of experience in different schemes can struggle when they learn a flawed scheme that is picked apart on tape.

This team hasn’t caught form through 15 games. This is who they are. They are a team that has relied heavily on misfortune from opposing teams throughout this season because they can’t put together one solid full 4 quarter game this season. No reason to think that is changing now.

I blame the defense for not closing out the game but the offense should have built up a lead. The defense played well up to that point and the offense blew chance after chance. I’m not saying the defense doesn’t have blame because it really does… But I just think in the Seattle game that was no doubt on the offense.

And again I agree with that! This team is what it is at this point. But this team has beaten play off calibre teams so it’s not out of the question to think it can again.

One hell of a game plan for the post season. Cross your fingers and hope the other team does a few more dumb things than you do.

Not only that seattle has one of the worse defenses by dvoa and they were without their best corner in Witherspoon. The fact we scored 17 points is just ridiculously bad. The titans did that this week against seattle and they have a worse oline, worse playmakers and a significantly worse Qb. Eagles should’ve scored way more than 17 but turnovers and offense just being its inconsistent self for long stretches of games. Heck we had a chance twice in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach and the offense blew it with a pick and having to punt the ball away.

Yeah it does.  But that is OK.  I think the real concern is internal relationships.  Something dark is going on in the locker room.  Jalen has lost the room somehow.   Coaches seem to as well.  Brown saying last night he was taught if he doesn't have anything nice to say, don't say anything and refuses to speak with reporters.   Hurts with one on one conversations with Smith and Kelce after the game, Sirianni looking pissed off during and after the game.  Something is sour, so much so that busting a losing streak didn't mean squat to the team.  Relationships are torn, that much is certain.

Only 3rd time we’ve won 11 games in back to back years. We’ve had a roller coaster year for sure but it still beats some of those seasons I think we’ve all seen. Gotta chance to play some home playoff games; just gotta keep battling.

I thought Daryl Johnston had a pretty good line on the telecast yesterday where he said how you can’t really specify who or what the problem is, but you can tell that there is something very off about this team and not right.

The vibes are off, they make dumb, improbable mistakes on a weekly basis, and they do everything they possibly can to lose games at the end. They are never out of the woods.

They aren’t good. Should have beat the Giants by 20
