Exactly.  That's what I am saying.  They are just wearing down our DL and it isn't improving the situation.  Run defense is a matter of gap discipline, tackling and want to.  They aren't playing disciplined, they don't tackle well and they don't have the want to.  

At this point, they are better off with 3 LBs (or big nickel).  Let Smith and Vansumeren play LB.  Even if they make mistakes they have the speed to make up for it and the desire to make a play.  Hopefully Cunningham can come back soon.  He's been the best LB on the roster

Yes, that’s true. But how they got the points doesn’t really matter to my point. The offense had a 15 point advantage. When there’s no defense, the offense has to go blow for blow to keep the pace, and they did not. So I don’t really care if the points per drive was above average or whatever metric there is. They simply weren’t good enough.

Nick flirts with analytics, while the FO is married to them. It’s part of the problem and dysfunction. 

On offense:

Run the ball. Use the middle of the field. Stop with the QB runs. A couple a game in certain spots is okay. No more bubble screens. Run it 30 times a game.

Defense: 

Bringing 5 is a waste. Stop dropping Reddick into coverage. Stop being so afraid of the pass that you're letting teams murder you with running and dump offs because everyone is back. If you bring pressure, have it be 6. 

It's not difficult.

I tend to think if gannon was still here, this defense likely looks like it did in 2021 but probably slightly worse as i think our LB are significantly worse. 

If there’s anyone that wants a sliver of hope, this is kind of like the 2022 Phillies who slid ass backwards into the playoffs and did everything they could to tank the season just to get hot at the right time. It would be very 2023 Eagles to sit starters and have the Cowboys lose late but still win the division.
