It’s about what fans believe what Lurie will do, wasn’t Kotite’s collapse his first season as owner?  Not comparing Nick to Kotite but Lurie won’t forget that disaster, plus only 3 teams since 1960 started 10-1, and lost 4 of 5, Eagles, 2020 Steelers, 1986 Jets, of course Kotite was their OC.
Also does Kelce retiring play a roll in Lurie’s decision, with Cox and Graham possibly leaving as well, that will leave a big hole leadership wise.  None of it matters if they beat the Giants and win a wild card game, but if they lose the next two games, Lurie would have a tough decision to make.

I don't think it's a tough decision at all.

Unless behind the scenes the majority of the team hates Sirianni and won't play for him.

But I don't think that's the case.

Do some players probably not like him and his personality?   I'm sure some do.  That's probably the case with every locker room.

Does AJ not like him?  He seems to be upset alot.  He was upset last year when we were blowing the NYG out in the playoffs.  Earlier this year he was arguing with Hurts about something.

Wouldn't shock me one bit if it comes out this dude is a locker room problem like TO was dividing the team.

This is Howie we are talking about.

He'll trade them a 2025 6th rounder so bypass waivers.

Except that its after the trade deadline.

I think if Maddox is a post June 1 cut there is a $7.5M cap savings in 2024.  Get him gone; he's not that great in the slot to compensate for how bad he is at outside CB and how often he is injured.

You can only designate 2 guys post June 1 cuts. BG's contract is set up to require it, and Bradberry should be the other so there's no added cap hit in 2024.

Add a quality DE & LB with a new hire at DC, would change things pretty quick.

A true DE doesn't help much unless they change their defensive scheme. Sweat is a true DE. BG is a true DE. They are the only DE on the team. Together, they are playing about 76% and 33% of the snaps. Even if you bring in a true DE, all he's doing is taking BGs snaps and some of the heat off of Sweat. Both of those things are needed but DE isn't going to impact this team as much as changing schemes are. They build this defense around the position Reddick plays. It's not a sustainable defense unless you have Reddick playing like he did in 2022.

I do agree they need to bring in a DE, but they need to bring in a DE and go back to a 4-3. I posted yesterday how I would like to see the DL look next year.

It's disappointing hearing this. Cox took personal responsibility to keep Davis and Carter in check and from everything reported, both had excellent off seasons and Davis lost quite a few pounds and worked hard on his conditioning... What the hell happened? Has he been sneaking out at 2am for cheesesteaks on the daily???

He's a 350lb dude. It's easy to spend the offseason working out and maintaining a lower weight. Once the games start, all that gets put to the side and slowly creeps back on.

Im good with that.

I agree with whoever said yesterday- an excellent offensive head coach who can stay the course with changing OCs would be ideal. Then you dont have to worry about coordinators on one side of the ball.

But I like Siri and I think the bigger issue is not him, but both of his coordinators suck.

If they cant get better after replacing both coordinators though, then theres not much else to do than start completely over with a new HC.

I feel like that there's no creativity in either room and no feel for adding in real wrinkles. Giving a minor facelift to the same thing isn't really a wrinkle. I don't think Siri is a creative guy, I think he can be a good personality and player coach. He needs to surround himself with even mildly innovative guys and I think he could succeed. It was the same with Doug after Frank left, as cliché as that comparison is. On defense, I just don't think they know what they want or how to evaluate defensive coaches.

The chances that the Eagles add a quality DE & LB along with a better DC in one offseason seem like the same chance a snowball will have in hell.

Not to beat a dead horse but just look at the body language all around. It's absolutely terrible and not just AJ Brown.

I've also said this before but I never once have seen Hurts talking with a coach on the sideline. He's always, always just sitting by himself. Every Sunday, I see coaches sitting with their QBs, tablets in hand or QBs gathering guys to go things. Just seems like something is missing there. Bigger issues at hand with the team but this sticks out to me every game.

Yikes.  And sure enough Jake kicks one that would have been easily through the uprights without their 4 yard gain…like they really needed to get those 4 yards for the kick.

I also posted a joke about Arron Roger’s being a system QB based on 2023 stats a few pages back. Feel free to poke a hole in that one

Guy has a point. And reinforces that we need Cunningham to basically play 100% of the snaps. Davis is doing his job.

Yeah.

Defense is weird because what they want is at odds with their philosophy on positional value.

This defensive scheme can absolutely work but you need LBs to unlock it.

How about that.  Posted right as I said what I just said.

You need competent linebackers, like Edwards and White last year, or Cunningham this year. Guys like Morrow and a washed Leonard won't work. I'd rather Van Sumeren play over Morrow.

You knew there were problems at the beginning of August when they signed not one, but two, LBs off the street in Cunningham and Jack.  It was as though Nick and Howie got to the end of training camp practices, looked at the LBs, and said

Guy is incorrect.

Howie Roseman said himself the purpose of the Jordan Davis pick was to disrupt the passer and play on third down. He also said some version of if they think they couldn't develop him into a pass rushing DT, they wouldn't have traded up for him.

Honestly Cunningham is no savior either.  He improves run D dramatically.  But he, like every other LB on our team are part of the reason our coverage is so bad on defense.

White was perfect.  Bad mistake letting him go.
