Starting defense is a bit of a stretch. Quite a long stretch.

And some of those guys were already good here (Forte, Toohill, Mills, Hicks) and we let them go anyway.  For various reasons.

Usually scheme fit. Which is the issue with making a GM try to pick talent for an ever evolving coaching staff.

We can't keep making these flash in the pan playoff/superbowl runs and then get all worked up and ready to burn it to the ground after the first sign of a hiccup. We need continuity. For the QB. For the GM. For the development of the players.

But here we are again.  Everyone wants Sirianni on the hot seat,  it even fired already.  And Howie haters are slowly crawling back out.

What are we doing? New coach every 3 years since Reid left? Are we the Browns? You can't do that.

Also people overreact to small sample sizes of other players.

A LB makes a few plays on another team and its "oh see there's LBs playing well on other teams.  Why can't the Eagles have that."  Then a couple weeks later that same guy sucks.

Barnett is playing better now with Houston.   My guess is it won't last and he'll be back to being bad again.  But somehow we made a mistake letting him go after he did basically nothing for 6-7 years.

I never like to crown any player or coach after such a short sample size.

CJ Stroud had a very good rookie year and now the Texans are set?  Well no, not necessarily.  He could come back down next year and regress.  We've seen it countless times.

Trying to be to smart. Just the sort of thing that we do

The play call wasn't the problem.  Although a little behind the Colts player should have caught it and been a 1st down.

PHI - 27

NYG - 13

PHI forces 2 turnovers and give up 0 turnovers.

but dallas would be #2 seed over detroit due to head to head

but I believe detroit has some tie breaker over the eagles and would drop them to 3 (this is why some wanted detroit to lose to dallas)

Eagles run a tush  push there. Colts should have run it as well imo. They had run the ball well on that possession. It was 4th and a short 1 IIRC.

DAL should win but it’s a divisional game on the road so you never know.

I definitely don’t see a blow out. Get a two possession lead, control the clock, stay healthy.

The absolute worst thing that could happen is a significant injury, especially on the O line, QB, CeeDee, or Micah.

Is it though? That stadium is probably going to be at least 50% Cowboy fans. It is even when the Washingtonians are good.

I get that but the play was fine.  Player should have done what he's supposed to do and catch it.

Doesn't really matter what seed we are. You have to be realistic knowing this team will not make it past the Div round. Even the wildcard is a challenge with this team.

Eh, I just never get too confident in divisional games. Crazy things seem to happen especially in the NFCE.
There does seem to be a lot of DAL fans in that area for whatever reason. My brother moved to Reston about 12 years ago and has since moved further out past Leesburg, he is planning to go to the game today.

I considered going last year to visit but that stadium is atrocious. At least you guys have awesome facilities for every sport and rabid fans to go with it, PHI is a great sports town.

Hasn't been one since though. I tend to agree, lurie is obsessed with having a high flying offense. I dont think he'd bring in a defensive head coach in any future hiring scenarios

He's hurting this team I believe with his insistence on firing away and shunning the run. To make it worse, he pushes this agenda onto the coaches and it's not good. I don't see us winning the big one again until this type of nonsense and meddling stops, which includes, ignoring the run game and linebacker position and to an extent the safety position.

We just watched the f'n Cardinals beat us with the run game, even being down 21-6 going into the 3rd quarter and they still stuck with the run to beat us, you'd think they would have a eye opening type of moment watching this in their own stadium first hand while the crowd is literally chanting "run the ball". Not holding my breath for a second. They're smarter than everyone and it is, and will continue to, cost this team.

If you had a secondary back with some power, ala Penny, you can run the ball behind one of the best lines in the game to control the clock in the second half and pound the Cards into submission. You still can take your shots with our elite pass catching weapons but Penny can be that enforcer to help close out games with Swift mixed in and they can't see it or even worse which I believe to be the case is, they don't want to see it. It's pure stubbornness and they've been this way before.

No. They had some tiebreaker but the loss to Dallas took it away.

Josh Harris has mastered tanking as an owner, they’ve been mandated to lose to keep the 2nd pick. In normal circumstances I think Washington could win. Not under Harris

Ehhhh. Minshew was pretty bad at them even here with this o-line. If I’m remembering correctly one was stopped last year with him because he doesn’t get much natural push.

Foles had about 4 or 5 throws that game that most NFL QB’s won’t make in their career.  He was absolutely amazing in that game.  I’d argue that it was one of the best single game performances ever.

I love the video of MJ on the sidelines going he fit it between 3 defenders...wow...

Yeh I didn’t type that very clearly, I meant run the ball with their back. No one runs the sneak as effectively as PHI.

While it is true anything can happen, Washington is playing for the 2nd pick.  Dallas is playing to prove they can win on the road and get two potential home field playoff games.  While it is a division game, it is a modified version with all the guys Washington won't be playing.
