I blame all of this on @Connecticut Eagle for spreading this into TWO threads.   We've never done it before, and look at the difference in what we saw between the two threads.   8-1 before the switch.  3-5 after.  Soon to be 3-6.   The Eagles during this version of the Blog are about on par with the Panthers, not even comparable to the Cardinals and Giants.

I blame that hoagie guy Dalessandro

IDGAF what night it is because I won't be watching.

Hopefully I'll be listening to Lurie's PC the day after when Siri is shitcanned.

But niners had nothing to play, the eagles loss to cardinals locked #1 seed for them.

Somehow the Rams won it all as the 4 seed that 1 year playing the Monday game. But generally it puts you at a ridiculous disadvantage. They really need to do 3 games Saturday, 3 Sunday.

Tbh i thought part of the reason the rams nearly blew that lead to tampa bay was cause they looked gassed at the end of game on defense after playing 6 days prior. Furthermore rams got a home game. If the eagles win they go to tampa then fly home after the game so really Tuesday is likely not being very productive either. Not that we are winning anyway but it’s a BS scheduling

Packers already have their flights booked for San Fran …..

SF already gets a double bye regardless.

I get it...I am just saying the NFL is giving them the most likely matchup on a short week that gives them an advantage...vs. say, since the likely outcome is 4/5 goes to SF, why not schedule the 4/5 for Saturday so they can get an extra day of rest before traveling across the country?

And the Eagles will have the world watching them with no other games. If they embarrass themselves with the only game in the NFL world that day it’ll carry a little extra weight.

They’ve already embarrassed themselves the past month and a half. They got their pride taken from them against SF on the game of the week, got wrecked by Dallas on SNF, got pantsed by Drew Lock on MNF the week after that, and lost back to back games where they got their asses kicked by two of the worst teams in the league in AZ and NYG.

Losing to Tampa isn’t embarrassing at this point. It’s expected. Them and Carolina have been the worst teams in the league the past month.

I'm my opinion I don't think it's Siriannis offense.  I know they call it Sirianni's offense but like you said it's way different than last year.

My guess is he has some input but last 2 years was mostly Steichens offense.  This year its Brian Johnsons offense.  BJ comes from college where he coached and played.  The offense looks like a college offense to be honest.

Wasn't when DP was HC here that he said Reich did most of the play design and game planning and Doug called plays?

Wouldn't surprise me if BJ is the main architect of the offense because it looks nothing like last year.

However that's on Sirianni for not stepping in and making changes to help the offense.

Offense took a step back this year but it wasn't terrible by any means.

Defense was the real issue this year and it's not even close.  If we had even a middle of the road 15-16th rank Defense we'd probably be a 2 seed at the very least right now.

Statistically they weren't much worse but from the eye test they were significantly worse. Literally every drive was like pulling teeth to do anything as opposed to last year where they blew everyone out in the first half and then legitimately just coasted for the entire second half. We could effortlessly do 9-10 minute drives running the ball to bleed the clock out. This year we couldn't even get a 1st down when it came down to the offense sealing games.

Hurts this season has been very much Dak from last season, but he’s a better player than Kaepernick was.  Like Dak, get him a better offensive game plan to limit his mistakes and you might see a resurgence.  Give McCarthy credit for that move, btw.

Anyway,  the debate is not who is better between Hurts or Kaep.

The point was,  don't fall for Harbaugh because he made Kaep look good, thus you think he can make Hurts look good.  Remember Kaep was just a flash in the pan.  He looked good for a short time.  Harbaugh doesn't have the secret to unlocking Hurts.

Hurts is figured out just like Kaep got figured out.

Any coach brought in for his ability to make Hurts look good is doomed to failure.

Been seeing his posts lately?  He’s on an "everyone is racist” kick

Mods will say he is not race baiting.  Of course...

Sirianni isn’t going anywhere.  The issue this season is neither coordinator hire has worked out.

Even if they made a head coaching change, Harbaugh is a low character guy I don’t think Lurie would have any interest in ….. although McDaniels was in the process last time, so …..

I agree that Howie won't change his dumb failed philosophy but I certainly do not agree there's no linebackers.
The young axe man, Edgerrin Cooper, Jaylan Ford, Junior Colson, Payton Wilson, Tommy Eichenberg to name some. They have two second rounders, there's no reason they can't take one.
There will be some in free agency as well.
This defense will never reach the top echelon when it's so disjointed. Linebackers matter. The best two teams in the NFL have some of the best linebackers in the league, it's a damn joke already with Howie's nonsense.

Cooper would look phenomenal on the Birds.

Yea. Now imagine how players feel when that’s all they hear from the HC. He’s just parroting what Sirianni says.

The interns should be asking to install hots and quick game to fend off the blitz. These are concepts at the HS and college level. What is coaching staff thinking?

A LB dropping into zone to cover the flat isn’t exotic - what is the coaching staff teaching? Run fits are fundamental - what are they doing at practice?

Is this an emperor has no clothes situation? These players know what good coaching looks like, right?

We now know the game is Monday Night:

IMO, I think the NFL was under pressure from Lorne Michaels to put the smallest markets possible in the game on Peacock Saturday night (8:15 PM ET) which will be the Chiefs vs. most likely the Dolphins or Steelers with the hope the Bills win against the Dolphins and it is the Steelers.  NFL broadcast rules require games on Peacock to air on over-the-air stations in the cities of the teams playing and I suspect Michaels didn’t want Philly (market #5 which overlaps with the southern edge of the New York TV market in Central New Jersey) on the Peacock game because it would air on WCAU-TV (Channel 10) in Philly and would likely mean Saturday Night Live would start as late as 1:00 AM in Philly (as NBC10 would be airing "Eagles GameDay Final” following the game and local news there). As big as the Taylor Swift fans are with the Chiefs now, Kansas City, Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Miami are all smaller markets than Philly and that may have played into which game Peacock got because of NFL broadcast rules for games on Peacock.

Switching from Desai to Patricia has less to do with touchy-feely stuff like "confidence" and "panic" and more to do with players having to adjust on the fly to a completely different playcaller who isn't even running his own scheme.

They took a weakness and then made it even harder for the players to adjust. It reeks of a Lurie/Howie type move and it may be the only reason Sirianni survives--just because the FO did something that monumentally backfired like that.

He’s been maddening to watch for the most part of this season. Bradberry falling off a cliff was the most disappointing player this year, but Sweat in the second half hasn’t been far off. He turned into such an undisciplined pass rusher.

Bum

Josh Allen single-handedly losing this game for the bills. 3 turnovers inside the dolphins 40.

Spent the day at disney world with the family and wasn't able to catch the game.  Checking in here before looking at the score online or anything.  How'd we do? Win by a tuddy or 2 against that garbage arse NY team? The boys looking recomposed and ready for the playoffs???

I’m really disappointed our game next week is MNF.

I was hoping it would be the Peacock exclusive game, which we don’t have a subscription to.
