Arch Manning should be in the 2025 draft, 2026 at the latest.

Maybe we should start planning to suck those years to get the number 1 overall pick and grab the next Manning HOFer.

One can hope 🙏

I can tell you what it will be -- the players didn't want Desai fired for Patricia. Everyone assumed the players must have wanted it, but you can see based on comments that they didn't. Nick made the move without having the players on board, and the defensive guys have quit.

I’d agree with this as i don’t think the players wanted desai fire. Also think the "confidence” was BS spewed and leaked out by the eagles. My opinion is it wasn’t entirely sirianni’s call. I think the FO wanted a scapegoat for how bad the defense had looked in 3 consecutive weeks against top offenses. Howie and lurie didn’t believe it was as much personnel driven as the reason so desai got booted. Also believed it’d look wise to make it then as they got to backup Qb in lock, giants twice and cardinals so the eagles defense would begin look better and could make adjustments against inferior opponents. Except it backfired and they went from bad to completely inept.

My belief is they regress more in 2024. New coach or not. I don’t think they can fix the entire defense in an offseason, gonna lose guys like kelce, graham and potentially cox. and i tend to believe the eagles arent going to avoid season ending injuries for a 3rd consecutive year. Only guy they lost for the year was Dean.

They can't regress from where they are defensively.   So, we've got that going for us.

At least we know why Penny hasn't played lol

Idk they could be completely inept for all 17 games.

Eagles went 1-5 down the stretch this year.   Not sure they need to 'plan' to suck at this point.   They would need to play to change something to unsuck.   If they bring it back with Sirianni, et al... they might just be playing 4D chess and be lining up for Manning.

Frankly if he sucks that much they should’ve just admitted their mistake and released him weeks ago. If he is that bad what’s the point in keeping him on the roster? So he can suck if someone gets hurt?

Yes, they could.  But that wouldn't be regression from their current situation.  They've been horrific defensively for the last 6 games... and intermittently for longer than that.   If they just maintain their level over 17 weeks what we've seen over the last 6, I wouldn't call that regression, but merely more of the same.

They’d be more consistent

The roster mismanagement absolutely stinks of someone trying to cover for offseason failed moves.   Albert O., Penny, Calcaterra...  any or all of them could have been released in place of Elliss.   Not that its a big deal in the grand scheme of what ails this team... but it indicates that there are decisions being made based on perceived status, rather than actual skills.   Those small sunk costs shouldn't force the team to hold on to a player that clearly offers nothing to the team over someone that actually does contribute, even if its a minor contribution.   But these minor investments in these players seems to be the only reason they were held on to rather than a player that they hadn't invested anything in.  And they thought they could sneak him through waivers... but failed.  That's egg on their face.

I don't know. He could be 1/64th Cherokee.

So he's white but not white white like Elizabeth Warren.

I don’t know if the players were loyal to Desai or opposed to Patricia so much as they resent being forced to make these adjustments mid season.  They basically acknowledged they don’t know what they are doing.

I think they just hate Patricia. He's universally disliked wherever he goes. You get sort of a Chip Kelly vibe from reading former players comments about him. Not that every coach needs to be a player's coach, but that Harry Hardass shtick wears real thin if you don't have the rings and a Belichick to back it all up.

They are both an extension of Sirianni, Johnson in particular.

Johnson is an extension of me too.

Yup. I think the week 15 demotion of desai indicates that. I wasn’t a desai is good. But i was a desai ain’t the only reason this defense has been as bad as it has. Felt this way for a while, howie when he demoted desai didn’t want to believe his personnel decisions this past off season were as bad as what he did during 2018-2020. That the defense would be far better with experienced DC utilizing the guys (they’d look better we a good Dc. still think they’d look bad vs  a team like Sf)

The coaching on defense has been a disaster whether it was desai or Patricia. (actually think desai is better cause he actually would have games where his second half adjustments worked and they played better. His issue is he had nothing when facing better offenses in his last 3 games). However i swear howie thought well we got 4 games against back up Qb, giants twice and cardinals. I can save face on my personnel moves this offseason by demoting desai, putting Patricia in place and if defense looks much better against those offense and it’ll seem like it was more on desai and less on me. Except the defense got worse against worst teams and consistently look confused and yesterday lack of effort.

I'm going with that when he tweeted that he was in an empty room having a bad trip.
