John Creasy?

Great movie.

Safety Kevin Byard even went as far as to say Eagles players don’t keep things in-house and that leaking rumors to reporters was the cause of the divisiveness in the locker room.

Hadn't read this reported until today.  Feeds into my narrative that IF Sirianni has lost support in the locker room, that it's more a function of not having the right leaders in place.

Sadly i don’t think the lions would beat the niners. I don’t trust Goff in that type of game vs. that defense. And then having Laporta possibly out is massive

I don’t think they get past the LAR this week.

OK, just for fun:

Browns at Texans: I really want to see the Texans win, but I just think the Cleveland defense will carry the day. Stroud is going to be an elite QB and play in a Super Bowl, but these guys have exceeded expectations just by getting to the playoffs. Browns in an ugly, low scoring game. Browns 23, Texans 17.

Dolphins at Chiefs: Everyone is going to be on the Chiefs because (i) they're the champs and (ii) it's going to be freezing cold in KC Saturday night. If not for the massive injuries on defense for Miami, I'd confidently think they could pull the upset. Miami will keep it close by running the ball, and Hill will be motivated. But the lack of LBs (sound familiar) and pass rush catches up with Miami and Mahomes will make some plays. But...these aren't last years Chiefs, and Hill goes bananas and wins it. Dolphins 24, Chiefs 23.

Steelers at Bills: The only chance Pittsburgh has in this game is if Josh Allen turns the ball over a bunch, which isn't impossible. But on paper this is just a mismatch, and I can't see the Steelers making a game out of this. Bills 34, Steelers 10.

Packers at Cowboys: This is a crazy game to me, as I really don't trust either team. Dallas is undefeated at home, but with an asterisk for the Lions game. They remain a team that basically hasn't beaten anyone -- they beat the Rams in Dallas before the Rams got it together, they beat an Eagles team in Dallas coming off a brutal stretch (KC Monday night, 95 defensive snaps against Bills in OT and then SF) where we fumbled the game away, and then barely edged Seattle in a shootout at home. So...I have no faith in them. Then you have a young Packers team that won 5 of their last 6, but beat no one and lost to the Patriots. I think the home field advantage carries the day, and while Green Bay has been Dallas' nemesis for years, Aaron Rodgers isn't walking through that door. Cowboys 27, Packers 20.

Rams at Lions: Everyone is on the Rams for this game, but it's not a Stafford revenge game -- he won the Super Bowl after Detroit traded him. It's the Goff revenge game. Ford Field is going to be crazy, and the Lions are a good team. However...I'm not sure how they stop Nacua and Kupp. I think it's a high scoring game, and screw it...let's say Stafford gets the win in Detroit (this outcome will terrify SF). Rams 33, Lions 30.

@mattwill

Eagles at Bucs: Well...I have no idea what to expect. The Eagles have been flaming trash for weeks now, but the Bucs managed to score 9 whole points against the Panthers in a game they needed to win after scoring 13 in a loss to the Saints the prior week (in a game that could have clinched the division). The Bucs have only one win against a playoff team, and that's the 7th seed Packers. They have zero running game, and the Eagles should have Slay back. If the Eagles actually show up, they should win this game. Will they show up for the first time since Christmas? Well, I want to believe. Eagles 27, Bucs 17.

I agree with it all but something tells me the Pack could take that game.  Wishing. Hoping.  And same for the Rams, because the magnificence of the Rammies being in it will make life miserable for the Niners.

Here's how it's going to play out. BJ is the Rooney Rule scapegoat this year but Lurie and Howie think he's actually close to being a HC candidate so they hang on to him an extra year thinking next year he'll be a serious HC candidate. We see the same offense next year. No changes.

What a screw job.

A glorious counter narrative.  They most assuredly do not get all the calls no matter what happened in every game after this call.  This was tuck rule level outrageous, IMO.

You'll likely have Frank Reoch come in as a senior advisor on offense so that might have it look a little different.  If the Eagles offense is a top offense like it was this year then yeah Brian Johnson will continue to be a HC candidate.

Can't be true. There are no leaks. They make stuff up.

Seriously though, if you listen to Brandon Graham and Cox comments recently, there seems to be a divide between the young guys and the old guard. It was pretty telling when Cox was saying how important it was for the young players to hear AJ Brown speak last week.

I think the Packers COULD easily pull the upset - Dallas' offense has not looked great for a while now. 394 total yards against the Eagles, but only 9 points in the second half and they gave up 7 on a scoop and score. 195 yards and 10 points in Buffalo -- total abomination. 242 yards and 20 points at Miami. 323 yards and 20 points in a miracle win against the Lions at home. Then they run it up with 440 and 38 against Washington, but we've seen this before (think Wildcard game in Tampa last year). The offense is basically just Prescott and Lamb, and if either has a bad day...

I just wasn't ready to pick both the Packers and the Rams. Plus, I have obvious bias in the Dallas game, so trying to correct for that.

Ewers returning to TX for another year , QB class is thinning out

i like Ewers

I would absolutely love for something like this to happen again, this time to McCarthy. 😂

Wow a lot of teams want Brian.  I guess some of you got it wrong about him.  That's two teams.

As per usual, Steratore had it correct.  The way the rule was being applied at the time, the player had to maintain possession through contact with the ground through the catch.  I knew in the moment it was an incomplete pass, and the referee got it 100% correct.

I know you're not new to how this goes, so I'll confine my response to simply saying we'll see if he gets hired for one of these head coaching positions.

I didn't adjust either team for defensive scores, because I am lazy. But interesting. Guessing Dallas has more defensive scores.

Saban and belichick should do a podcast together. I’m betting they’d have amazing stories and based off some of the stories that have come out from former players they are actually more comedic behind the scenes

I'd 100% listen.  I wonder if BB would ever stoop to doing play-by-play. It would be fascinating to hear him analyze team strategies during the game.

There's a 0.0% chance of Belichick working for Jerry. Remember, Belichick's mentor was (until their falling out) Parcells, and we all saw how that went. Belichick will want full control, and that doesn't exist in Dallas where players can always go straight to the owner.

If Dallas loses to Green Bay, or maybe even in the Divisional round (especially if it is to us), I think McCarthy could be out and replaced with...Dan Quinn. Jerry has been adamant about keeping Quinn around, and he might just fire McCarthy and promote Quinn if that is the only way to keep him in Dallas.

Valid points.  IIRC, Parcells clashed over player personnel, and that was because the Cowboys were just kinda mid back in those day.  Here, BB would be given a team with a pretty prolific offense with a ton of talent on defense.  Of course, if McCarthy wins a few playoff games, then he should be safe.  (Simply getting Dallas back to the NFCCG should be enough, I would think...)
