Kevin Harlan is obviously very good, but he seems to me to be more of a radio guy than a television guy. I'm talking about his manner of speaking. He's a bit verbose, which plays very well on radio as the primary intent is to paint a picture for the listeners. It's different on TV since the viewers already can see what's happening. A good television broadcaster doesn't saturate the air with his voice.

Good, dude thinks he's the greatest RB on earth acting like every 5 yard run was some HOF worthy moment

This is probably the worst week to come off of a MNF game.  Already on a short week and they probably get the day off on Thanksgiving or some half assed short day.  Meanwhile the 49ers get to roll into Philadelphia on an extended week.

Thanksgiving morning Predictions Update

16 predictions recorded thus far.  14 for an Eagles win, 2 for a Bills win.  The Average Predicted Score is now once again an Eagles win by the score of 31-21.

As always, please tag your prediction post with @mattwill that way I will be sure to see/record it.  Score predictions can also have an optional "Bonus Pick" tiebreaker prediction.  So far over the course of the season 106 different EMB posters have made at least one prediction.

A list of the predictions is presented below, sorted alphabetically by the name of the predictor.  If you don't see your name there, then I haven't yet recorded a prediction for you.

This is a high quality post.  You won't ever see many, if any, Harriet Tubman jokes (without being disrespectful to a woman who by all account was a bad b***).

Irsay thinks of the Underground Railroad as doing a fat line of coke in his basement.

Eagles 28 bill 20

Swift over 100

@mattwill

Eagles 34

Bills 20

Bonus: Blankenship with an INT

@mattwill

Bills 30 eagles 34

Offense has a comeback game while the defense has a letdown game after carrying the load on Monday.

Prediction: Julio TD

I just updated my Snaps worksheet and it once again graphically showed the one major beef I have with the Eagles this season.  Consistently, they are not rotating their snaps anywhere near as much as they did last year.  Reddick and Sweat and Cox are getting more snaps than I would like.  I'm concerned that there is going to be more wear and tear on their bodies late in the season and during the Playoffs.

Agreed.   Play the stars as much as possible has worked. 9-1.   But there is the risk of wear and tear, and there is a risk that if they were injured,  the backups who are not getting snaps might not be prepared.    Not just the D line,   but the WRs,  Brown and Smith.  And they're moving toward Swift playing almost always, which like everyone else,  has the pros and cons.

I'd like to see Covey on the field at times as a hot read from the slot,  he does have moves,  short area quickness, to catch a short pass where other WRs might not or they don't want them to do that.  I think that would work. Covey could do a lot, and at the beginning of last year, maybe the thinking was to wait and see how he does as a returned, and it turns out that he's a good returner,  leads the NFL in punt return yardage,  3rd in yards per return.  He caught a lot of passes in college as a slot receiver.  He could use that good at punt returning skill as yards after catch.   The Eagles have used 2 running backs,   Covey could be one of the 2 running backs.  Left Halfback.

And more Nolan Smith for Reddick.

A lot of running QBs this year assuming they all enter the draft.

This one is one of the smaller, faster type.  day 3 or udfa

Played WR for one year at Ole Miss.   A Tiny Taysom, somewhat like Covey.

That's basically every player in today's game.

Make a routine tackle....get up and flex or pose.

Make a 5 yard run.......same.

Make a first down catch.......same.

I understand getting hyped and doing that stuff on big plays.  Doing it for routine plays doesn't make sense to me.

Big QBs like KJ Jefferson are pretty rare.  6'3 247 (same size as Derrick Henry).  Isn't having a great year,  but last year and the year before he had a passer rating of 164, compared to Drake Maye's best passer rating year of 157.

KJ Jefferson would be on the field maybe at a Fullback position in short yardage and on 4th Q, run the ball to run out the clock drives, where the Eagles have been a little flawed.  Day 3.

@mattwill

Eagles 24-15

Defense forces 3 Josh Allen turnovers and records 5+ sacks.

Also - cameras catch Stephon Diggs throwing a huge temper tantrum on the sidelines and eventually he’ll get into a back and forth with fans

Would the fact that they’re in closer games this season have anything to do with it?

Kevin Harlan would be a massive upgrade over an Al Michaels that is just not with it enough anymore to call prime time football games anymore.  If he still wants to broadcast then let him do the Olympics and maybe one or 2 TNF games a year if he wants to.

Why he isn't on one of SNF, MNF or TNF is beyond me. One of the best announcers in the game.

I’d take a sure handed Jason Avant type who can always find the sticks.

So in a sense...Greg Ward?

Eagles 27 - Bills 13

Defense has 3 sacks, Jones has a TD.

@mattwill

picked against the birds last game, so never change a winning pick:

Eagles 24

Bills 27

Bonus: After reading various ideas in the blog, Sirianni „promotes" Mailata to fullback to run out the clock. Jordan fumbles, ball is scooped up by a Bills defender, who returns it for the winning score…

Happy Thanksgiving, nerds.
