In most cases these type of charts have the positive/best in the upper right quadrant (right and up being positive, left and down bing negative. I've been seeing a few of these recently and can't really say with confidence I understand them.

This particular chart especially. Look at the Jets, they have three of the top performers in the far upper right indicating they are the best at what his chart represents, the Broncos have two in the upper right...if this chart (graph quadrant) follows the same logic as most, indicates to me that the Jets and Broncos have really underperformed offensively, which they have...so it makes sense. That would also indicate to me that no matter where a teams CBs are in the chart it doesn't mean squat when it comes to wins.

Some teams can overcome deficiencies in one area with steady and above average play elsewhere on the field. The Eagles in my opinion are steady on the offensive side of the ball, incredible on the Defensive front, which in turn protects their deficiency in the secondary.

But again, i do not fully understand how these graph quadrants are built, any of them. What metrics are being used?

That's my point.This chart says that Ronald Darby is good. If it represents the way CBs play to win games then it should also reflect that the upper right quadrant shows the best teams. You see this in the analogous QB charts. This chart might actually show something like Moneyball in that this way of evaluating CB play does not actually reflect winning.

We could play aggressive-man coverage and still lose. Mahomes at home off a bye is not an indictment of the defense.

True-  But my point is we need a change up for playing situational football. Which we dont do.

Becoming more aggressive in the 4th quarter after getting beat all day playing off-coverage/2-high has the upside of getting the ball back to the offense if it doesn't work out.

Also worth noting that the Eagles were 5-0 last year without Goedert.

That’s more of a reflection of the schedule imo. The best team we played in that stretch was the Giants.

Don't have a subscription, but I saw somewhere Cunningham apparently is ranked 17th in coverage among LBs by PFF? That seems crazy.

Not really. There are maybe two or three LBs in the league who can cover. Everybody else is hit or miss.

Also... its PFF.   So, anything is possible.

I think this is a scheme thing. Too many teams have their corners all packed together.

We’re a bend-but-not-break D that hopes the fastballs up front get home. Dallas gets 400+ yards of offense but only 23 points out of it, and Sean Desai pats himself on the back

1) WTF is 'percentile seperation prevented'?

2) Target % seems like an irrelevant dimension.  Your elite receivers are going to get the ball more.  Why is that relevant?

Eagles 30
Chiefs 25

Mann with 2 50 plus yard punts

@mattwill  Chiefs 23 Eagles 20

BONUS: Travis Kelce 7+ catches and 1+ TD(s).

@mattwill

Chiefs 28

Birds 27

Defense fails with late game heroics. Gives up go ahead TD in the final minutes.

@mattwill

Is the difference no Hurts fumble for 6 in the revenge game?

I've circled this as a schedule-loss for a while, and if Roby doesn't play, that won't change.

wrong

Honestly, if you tell me we have a loss this week but beat Buffalo and the 49ers, I'm good.  Plus, would hate to beat them now and then play them in the Super Bowl.....

It'll be a good test for Siri, AR always has his teams ready to play after a bye week.

But Siri also has a chance to get this team relatively healthy, and Desai gets the same secondary to work on communication and coordination.

One sign of a top HC is finishing strong, figuring out your weaknesses and addressing them, they've already fixed their red zone problems, now they have to fix their coverage issues.

Didn't realize the splits were that pronounced.

I don't think Nolan Smith is good at the moment, but when you watch him he's certainly active.

No reason for Barnett to get any more snaps. Waste of space

It’s a little telling that Quez hasn’t had his 21 day window opened. He’s eligible to come off IR, he had the additional week of the bye to get healthy, and Goedert is out for an extended period of time. Would be a perfect opportunity to get back on the field and support that #3 receiving option. I guess the coaching staff is comfortable with Julio, OZ, Swift, and Stoll combining for that roll.

Is Quez done here?
