@Diehardfan needs to keep the pressure on Brian Johnson all week.  Starting day of the game isn't cutting it.  He has to get on him now so we are not sleepwalking as an offense in the first half.

Run the ball.

There's something to be said for how they are winning these games in the most excruciating, yet satisfying way possible in the end. It's going to take a lot to knock this team out of the playoffs. You need big-game experience, an efficient, composed quarterback, and to really play four good quarters. This team can get away with only playing two quarters of good football. I don't know if there's another team that can succeed with that method against them. Shanahan is historically a poor big-game coach, who knows what Purdy looks like in a big game, Dallas is still dangerous but they've had their flaws in big moments as well.

This team is battle tested, has veteran leaders who have won a Super Bowl, has a quarterback that went toe-to-toe on the biggest stage last season with Mahomes, a coach that is 27-2 in his last 29, guys like DeVonta, Jalen Carter, and Jordan Davis who have collegiate, big-game, championship level experience. They're built for big games and big moments. They can win a dozen different ways: with the lead, from behind, passing, running, down two scores in the second half, negative differential on turnovers, putting up a stinker in the first half, grinding out the clock in the second half, etc. There aren't a lot of other teams that can do that.

Yup. It's going to take either a complete meltdown from the Eagles late (Jets) or the opponent will have to play a near perfect game. I saw "Bills gave them an A game" said a few times. And while it might have been an A game for the Bills in particular this season, they made far too many mistakes to beat a team playing like the Eagles. 2 missed FG's, some pivotal drops, stupid penalties, WR's running wrong routes and an interception is too much to overcome when this team can keep finding ways to win late. I don't think the Eagles are playing a conventional way to win games this year but at the same time, there's nothing so far to show it's not sustainable either.

Good luck to him.  Barnett might get a chance to start in Chicago, he wasn't getting it here.

Where's that dude from the old EMB that swore up and down that we made a huge mistake drafting Devonta Smith and not picking Mac Jones?  That take aged like raw hamburger.

Good lord the franchise is screwed.

Also I think that Jordan Phillips "encroachment" on the first tush push was 100% intentional, and something I was kinda worried teams would start doing eventually either due to frustration of not being able to stop the play or to "set the tone".

I mean really. It's not hard.

And man, that 2021 NFL QB draft class.  Trevor Lawrence was a hit, but the other guys taken in the first round were: Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, and Mac Jones.    What a terrible QB class.

As long as he isn't signed and plays tonight.  I have Chicago DEF in my SNF-MNF daily

I agree.  He was dirty all game.  He had a late hit on Jurgens where ne knocked him accross the pile.

Reminds me of the RO worry, where the free rusher would just run through the rQB at the mesh every play.

All things considered i think driscoll had a decent game.

He got rinsed on the first play and seemed to settle after that

I mean we were lucky the Panthers drafted Jaycee Horn and Denver got Surtain or Dallas doesn't make that trade.  We are also kind of lucky that the Panthers picked Horn because there was a lot of rumors that we might have taken him over Devonta.

The thing about horse collar tackles is they aren't dangerous because of the horse collar itself, they're dangerous because a player running forward fast is being pulled down from behind. You hear the talk this year about hip drop tackles are next to go. Another tackle done from behind. Which is ridiculous because how are you going to tackle a player from behind if you can't grab the top of the body and can't grab the hips. Dive at their feet?

Tackling from behind is a risk. Either allow it or ban it entirely. And if you ban it entirely you might as well play two hand touch at that point.

Albert Okwuegbunam seems on borrowed time. No Goedert or Calcaterra and he only played 9 snaps. Togiai almost outsnapped him despite just getting here a week ago.

The correct analogy of what Reddick did in the eyes of butthurt fans is a facemask. As if touching the back collar or nameplate triggers a penalty. They neglect the fact that the penalty is for a "horse collar tackle" a type of tackle. It wasn't a horse collar tackle.

Hate Romo... gaslit controversial calls that weren't all that controversial at all just to hear himself talk.

True.

But Nance's energy on the big plays was very welcomed.

It's funny, for as awful as he's been in NY I still kind of think Wilson could end up being a decent QB.  He's gotta get away from the Jets though.

I think the key is to work on ways to safely tackle vs. eliminating types of tackles.  Ultimatetly, they need to stop whittling away at the essence of the game.

Bring him back to help BJ out with the early week game planning.

Would absolutely take Reich back in an offensive Fangio role. I have no doubt Nick and Howie are going to at least ask him about it.

He was being pulled down from the front prior to him grabbing the back. At least that's what I saw real time as it was happening.

That's what everyone saw. Only those of us who aren't haters actually comprehend it though.

He is being saved for the post season like Penny.

hard to believe , since the first drive of the game driscol was like this

Totally wrong.

First play: the OL slides right, EXCEPT for Jurgens, who looks inside (left). When Floyd goes inside, Driscoll has no help because Jurgens is late getting over. Here you can see Kelce is looking right and has stepped in that direction. Jurgens is looking left.

Floyd takes an inside move and you can see Jurgens looking right and saying, Oops.

PP-B.thumb.png.107f1771788a4d2a990725c6aa8c41dd.png

Jurgens is too late and Floyd gets through. Was Driscoll perfect here? No, but he expected inside help which did not come.

On the next two plays Driscoll was a wall. The first:

The second:

If you're going to bust on a player, get it right. This was cheap and ignorant.PP-A.png

I can't get rid of this last screenshot but it's a duplicate of the first one. Sorry.
