Very rarely do you see a lineman do that. And one has big as him with a fully extended dive at the end.

Amazing commitment from the young man.

How terrifying is it for all 335 pounds of Jordan Davis to be running at you at ~17 miles per hour?

It was a terrific play, but I was worried about him.

Another TIFWIW had an Arizona coach talk to me today about tackle Jordan Morgan. Said the eagles have called multiple times and asked fisch/Brennan Carroll about him. done a lot of homework on him. I know howie and fisch were college roommates so maybe just getting an advanced scouting report on him from someone he really trusts but figured I’d give what I was told.

They should have one of those "runaway truck ramps" that are on mountain highways for him on the sideline.

Who the F was #1? The Juggernaut?

HIgh praise for OZ.  The TD was a beautiful one.  He does not get a lot of looks or targets, but notice that he is around the where the ball is going most of the time, blocking for teammates.  This is the kind of player teams want, unnoticed on the stat or video, but doing the dirty hard works to make the team thrilled.

lol

If they called how didn't a trade come together. What did they offer, hot dogs?

From what my source has told me (don't share that link with anyone, I don't want my source to get into trouble), yes, that's exactly what they offered. 4 of them. Howie counter offered, demanding chili dogs but the Bears declined.

Bears must not have cared all that much about Barnett if they didn't claim him at $400k and he got to the Texans.

Interesting breakdown of the game winning TD:

Wow, that's really cool. I've been looking at him as a potential RG/RT. He someone that really stands out. Not sure if he is there with our 2nd rounder but that would be ideal.

There was an OZ vs. Quez debate in here around a month ago and I mentioned that I liked OZ better simply because I trust him more. Quez seems to have been demoted to WR4 now with Julio in the mix. OZ has only made a couple of plays this season, but he's more reliable than Quez and at that spot that's all that really matters. He's basically Pascal from last season.

Ok....so non football talk, was going spring skiing in Colorado at Crested Butte......had to drive from Denver there through Monarch Pass.  F'ing scariest road I'd ever been on!  They had those Runaway Truck ramps every couple of miles.  It had just snowed "a lot" and my first thought was, if you were in a runaway truck on that road you might as well kiss your arse goodbye because you aren't making it to the ramp (and the pass was like on the side of a cliff).  We are driving and see cones where the guardrail once was, we get into town and asked, they said yeah, 18 wheeler went right through the guardrail yesterday, dropping 1,000's of feet to their death.  Runaway Truck Ramp don't mean crap when it's f'ing miles away!!

I find this surprising this soon but if that’s the case it might be best to get Reich in the door.

He'll get interviews for sure because of my pessimistic view toward the Rooney Rule and that it leads to non-serious interviews.  The fact is, though -- regardless of what people think of his play calling -- he's been the central figure in Hurts' development over the past two years.

If you believe Hurts is a leading MVP candidate a year after Steichen is gone, then you have to see Brian Johnson as a serious HC candidate.

He would make a ton of sense as a target. Late first/early second round projection, might be the most athletic OT in the draft, but needs some coaching to smooth out the rough edges.

Reich hasn't exactly been good since he left, not sure why everyone even wants him.

His other issue is he’s had some injuries in his time here. But he’s a great kid. Stayed with the program and could’ve left when it was really dire and bad. I’d love to see him with the eagles. Like i said great kid. Super loyal.

Agreed on both accounts.

The Rooney Rule is going to necessitate that teams interview coaching candidates that they have absolutely no intention of hiring, which sucks. It’s a waste of everyone’s time.

But on the other hand, QB is the most important position in football, and Johnson has been instrumental in Hurts’ development. On that fact alone he will be a serious candidate for head coach.

Wasn’t he expected to turn pro last year but ended up staying because of an injury? Maybe I’m thinking of someone else.

The injuries don’t bother me too much. That’s the nature of football, and the eagles training staff has seemed to do a really good job of mitigating those problems.

As an aside, I was listening to the Shawn Ryan Show (excellent podcast BTW if anyone is looking for something to listen to) who was a Navy SEAL and CIA contractor, and one of his special forces guests mentioned that their previous trainer now works for the Eagles.

Hearing about the injuries these guys sustained in Iraq and Afghanistan, I have to imagine the NFL seems easy for him.

In other news, Eagles moved up from 10 to 8th in DVOA.

We have now beaten the teams ranked 3-4-5-6.
