The lack of urgency with the Shaq Leonard thing seems weird to me. Dallas plays tomorrow so he's obviously not playing for them this week and the Eagles need a LB but signing today would take a roster spot for a guy who still might not be able to play for them this week.

I think it's because Dallas schedules the visit first and it was before the Eagles had a need because Cunningham hadn't gotten injured yet.

Wyoming is the best.  I used to camp there frequently when we lived in Colorado.   Once drove for 22 consecutive minutes without seeing another car on the road.

I-80 get awful windy up there...

Really need to have a good ball control offense this game.  Let the offensive line control the game and keep the Dline fresh.  Easier said than done.

Need the DTs to play and the overall DL to hold up especially against the run. Do that and we have a solid shot.

Lol thinking that was gonna work

Them mocking the Eagles when they scored the TD late..... thats what lost the game for them...

You dont do that in our house....

I can only hope some Niner does that in like the first or second qtr.....  :ph34r:

Yeah, it wouldn’t be due to lack of will if it were to happen but you can only have so many games in a row like this and especially with the other teams having several days more rest.

No doubt.  But, even if they lose, I don't see a curb stomp like SF did to Dallas.   At most, I'm thinking a 14 point deficit.

Im Guessing it's him taking some time off. He clearly wants a shot to WIN in the playoffs, and can rest up while he sees what is going to be his best chance.

With a very low first round pick, I can see a scenario we take him or Carter. Basically no OT or DE worth the pick and no trade down option.

A first round CB wouldn’t play as a rookie, a WR would be in the slot and would basically force us into letting AJ Brown walk, we already have 2 young safeties and I doubt we would take a RB or interior lineman.

As of now he is the 44th rated player and the 3rd best box LB. If youre drafting BPA you don't take him, if you're drafting for need...well I guess he is your guy unless one of the other two LB slip.

Good to know.

Visiting a buddy in Colorado via road trip in 2024.

Will avoid that state at all costs.

Northern Arkansas in the Ozarks, as well as southern Missouri is attractive.  I drive I40 through Tennessee then I30 out of Little Rock multiple times a year.  I try to avoid interstates but can’t going to visit my father in law.  I40 through Tennessee is pretty for an interstate but west of the Mississippi is butt ugly.  But just off it is Crater of Diamonds State Park, Louisiana Purchase State Park, Hot Springs etc and I 40 Little Rock to Ft. Smith isn’t bad.

And no way around it, anyway you go is taking you out on the Great Plains once past the Ozarks.  I happen to appreciate the Great Plains but most don’t.  There are a few places including some reservations where the grasses and bison are back.  It literally looks like a sea of grass.  Many don’t appreciate that but I do.  You drive the northern route through Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska, if you stick to the Interstate, I hope you appreciate corn, corn and more corn.

Speed cameras on highways/freeways seems different. I’m not sure if that’s common, but out here in Phoenix/Scottsdale and surrounding areas they’re usually only on roads with 45 mph or less speed limits. Don’t recall seeing any on highways. That seems dangerous with cars coming to a quick deceleration noticing the cameras. Cars almost come to a halt on the 45 mph zones when cameras are noticeable.

Monetization of law enforcement is just wrong.

Worst timing with CMC coming up.  I read the Colts reddit and they are all saying Leonard is washed.

The Game Score Predictions window for the 49ers game is open

As always, please tag your prediction post with @mattwill that way I will be sure to see/record it.  Score predictions can also have an optional "Bonus Pick" tiebreaker prediction.  So far over the course of the season 118 different EMB posters have made at least one prediction.

For anyone who missed the results of the first 11 weeks, the post below takes you to a recap of those results

@mattwill

Feeling like this is a game that we will talk about for years to come.

Eagles 27
49ers 16

Bonus: Purdy has 2 turnovers.

RIP, Charlie Munger.  Everyone knows Warren Buffett but that was a true partnership.  Want to make wise investments, follow Charlie’s philosophy.  I’ll miss those blunt quips.

Welp

@mattwill

While the final score will be closer, I feel the Eagles will control the tempo and the game. As usual, the Eagles need to establish the run early and shut their run game down. Force the whiners to be one dimensional and see if purdy can beat them with his arm.

Eagles 28

Whiners 20

Bonus: Swift 150+ all purpose yards

My big concern is missing Cunningham this week who is very good vs the run.

Eagles 29
Niners 23

Bradberry with another INT

Seems like a good time to give Nolan Smith more reps at WLB.

No. That is not the way this approach is wired.  Not hiring him as a coach but rather an asset.  Patricia could have had the impact you suggest on Desai.  Fangio on Gannon.  But that isn’t the approach. Rather here is a guy to advise.  Since Howie uses experienced guys as advisers, I think the coaches buy in.  Nick talks to other coaches to make the overall approach better. (AR in post bye success, for example.)

I recall numerous situations in my career, where I was in a senior advisor role.  Supplement not take charge role.  Resource to be drawn upon. Somehow the Eagles have figured out how to maximize that. I am really not surprised.  I think coaching, as a profession, depends so much on a conglomeration of cooperative input so this is a natural progression.  The day that it becomes ego and my way or the highway is the day the staff takes a downward turn. I ****, probably more than I should, about Howie but acknowledge he seems to seek counsel.  Hopefully he has outgrown the need for that to be a consensus. I truly hope Donahoe refusing the fist pump was the final learning step on that.

That sounds well and good. However, Johnson has gotten a LOT of criticism for his play calling. I’m just concerned that this will be taken as something to prop him up. It’s his first time as a pro OC and, while I see plenty of evidence that he is learning as he goes - witness the red zone improvement - others may not. His scripted plays need a lot of work, for example. OTOH, if Johnson is truly OK with it, sure, bring him on. Hiring Patricia seems to have done no harm.

He’s the best box LB, by far, and the only other off ball LB who might be drafted higher is his teammate Barrett Carter due to his speed and versatility.

44th player according to whom? I’ve seen him crack the top 20 in some rankings. I think he goes somewhere in the 25-40 range, probably 30-35, right where we will likely pick.

The eagle has landed.

@mattwill

Eagles 34

Niners 24

Bonus: Purdy gets knocked out of the game
