Is that good or bad? I know some Packers fans, it’s got to be a bad thing. If I need to tone it down y’all just say so, no hard feelings here.

You’re cool, dude. I enjoy reading your commentary, primarily because you seem like an objective fan who loves the game of football. You’re not coming here as an outsider trying to hype up the Cowboys. Frankly, that Packers fan was okay too.

We have three young CBs on the roster: Ringo, Ricks and Jobe. That's 2 rookies + one 2nd year player. Even if Jobe is bad, that's still two other guys. I agree that we need a young nickle to replace Maddox.

OT is far an away the biggest need. Lane can't be relied on to stay healthy. Driscoll will likely get real money in free agency because of other teams' poor OL depth. Whoever we draft at OL in RD1 is immediately OT3 on the roster.

Yeah... I keep hearing about these guys.  Jobe has been relegated back to the bench and ST.  Ricks continues to be grabby and Ringo continues to be a mystery because he can't get on the field.   Nothing about any of them would stop me from adding more CB depth in the draft.  It absolutely needs to be a draft day priority.  Not just because we have guys on the roster, doesn't mean that they are good enough.   And, if ONE of them works out, there's still a need for a second CB.   CB is absolutely a priority for the draft.

I've been hoping/waiting for them to draft a top Corner prospect for over 20 years.  Ricks is a decent young player.  The rest of the young guys are nothing special or unproven. They do also have Isaiah Rodgers who will be available next year to see what they have in him for depth and special teams.

I agree that nothing should stop them from drafting a top CB prospect if he's on the board.  Another 4th/5th round pick is fine but they've been doing that.  I'd love to see a 1st or 2nd round corner who can become a starter.

But, the reality is they probably won't this year.  The contracts to Slay and Bradberry, they'll say Ricks and other young guys are coming along, etc.  They will end up drafting linemen high as usual which is fine, keep strong lines.

Those things are beauties but it’s going to be weird to wear them vs Dallas. Color schemes are way too close.

The Bills defense clearly wanted to fight everyone after that loss...fans, significant others, nuns, babies, puppies...

Destined to end in a tie.

Why would Seahawks wear those unis in a road game? Way to stick the middle finger up at your fans. Imagine the Eagles doing one of their select kelly green games on the road.

Dallas has 4 big negative narratives leading into this game:

Dallas does not like to play on grass (all 3 losses are in grass stadiums this year, 4 of 5 losses last year on grass)

Miami is a dramatically different team home vs away (38.8ppg h vs 24.2a)

Dallas is a dramatically different team home vs away (41.0ppg h, 23.7a)

Dallas has not beaten a winning team when their starting QB was healthy in over a calendar year (Minnesota on Nov 20 2022)

Dallas is a good team, but this could be a confluence of all their boogie men in one singular moment

Miami’s numbers at home without the broncos game included is 31ppg. Not taking anything away from them but i suspect they play closer to the other 4 home games at the average of 31 than nearly 39. Still really good but it is a jump cause of that game

I thought it was almost a foregone conclusion that the Packers were going to win that one.  Lions are being exposed now... and they have a legit shot at not winning the division.  It's not inconceivable that the Vikings could beat them twice down the stretch and overtake them at the last minute.   Detroit could enter the playoffs on a 3 game losing streak (@Vikings, @Dallas, Vikings).   And even before that... they are on the road against the Saints and Bears... and even the Broncos could give them trouble.  It's possible they go 2-4 down the stretch finishing at 10-7.  The Vikings could match that and with a sweep in their head to head series win the tiebreaker.  (Vikings schedule: @Raiders, @Bengals, Lions, Packers, @Lions.    That got easier with the Burrow injury.   They could go 4-1 in that stretch to win the division, assuming a sweep of the Lions.  Even a split with the Lions, if they end up with the same record, I think the Vikings still get the nod on the tie breaker. )

Vikes won't beat the Lions once, let alone twice.

Dallas is just a bad matchup for the Eagles. It doesn’t really matter what they do against other teams with winning records. San Fran dog-walked them earlier and they have a bad loss against AZ. But they always play the Eagles well regardless and more times than not, Dak has his way with this defense and they don’t have an answer for Lamb when he goes into the slot. Maybe it’s just a divisional thing the same way with Washington.  But it’s a bad matchup, specifically for the Eagles defense. They don’t have an answer for Dak and haven’t for a while.

I'm just hoping that the secondary can stay healthy for the next matchup. Would be nice to have the actual starters out there matching up with Dallas. Slay should follow Lamb wherever he goes.

The lack of respect for this team is dumbfounding. Rolled into Arrowhead, gave AR his first post bye week loss as a coach, gave Mahomes his first loss at home in November.  Beat up up the Dolphins, OT win in appalling conditions vs the Bills. Etc

Respectfully, Dak has beaten up on a bunch of bad teams; Hurts has won in Arrowhead, beaten the Bills and Dolphins while having a knee injury.

You know the above is going to be such a focus in the Novacare this week. You are 10-1 and still get no respect.  The Whiners continued whining will only amp that up further.

FYI, he had 3 regular season losses after the bye before this, so they gave him his 4th.  Still an impressive stat.

Also btw, Siri is now undefeated (4-0) after the bye.  Smaller sample size but off to a good start.

I have very little interest in a 4th/5th round CB.  That player would basically be the same as Jobe, Ricks, Ringo.  No need for a 4th guy that's basically the same as these 3.

I'm not so sure about that. Someone like Jordan Morgan may be there or available into the 20's where we could trade up without giving up a ton. I like some of these second tier tackles this year, quite a bit actually, the top 2 guys in Alt & Fashanu obviously aren't realistic. But a second tier player may be there or within striking distance of a reasonable trade up.

They are second tier for a reason - either lacking polish or measurables (maybe injury history in terms of Morgan) - I prefer a prospect from the super talented column with the hedge that Stout will have some time to coach them up.

Issue with lamb is that maddox is consistently hurt. After next week, we’ve played Dallas 8 times since they’ve gotten lamb. Maddox has missed 4 of the 8 games and the second game last year in Dallas maddox got hurt early in the game. So it’s really 3 games he started and finished since they’ve had lamb. Not that maddox would just shut lamb down but he’s our best slot corner and has a better shot then anyone else we try to put on him when lamb lines up majority inside.

Does Slay ever cover Lamb?  Doesn't seem like it.  Anytime Lamb makes a big play or TD it's usually Bradberry or someone else not named Slay.

Don't see why they can't put Slay on him and let other guys beat you.  Slay may not be who he used to be but he's still our best CB.

Just an observation.  Not a complaint or anything.  We had a Packers fan for a bit that was very non confrontational that would post here quite often.

Cool...I'm just here to talk football, give objective opinions/prognostications with a very knowledgeable "football" fanbase. Thanks to all of you who have been so welcoming.

You could do the same with Dallas, take out teams that are drafting top 6, and is Dallas even averaging 20ppg on the road?

Round 1?  Probably not.  But they absolutely should be looking long and hard at Round 2 and 3 targets for a developmental player that can learn while a depth player, but be ready to step in when the time comes.

In Round 1, DE & CB would be much higher priorities, BUT... the key is always to stick to the talent of what is there and not convince yourself that a player at position X is better than he really is, just because of the position he plays.  That's how you end up with the Jon Harris, Danny Watkins, even Jalen Reagor (because they needed a "speed" WR) type picks.

They need Lane's replacement to groom the same way Jurgens is grooming to replace Kelce.  If they're not able to draft a quality guy to take over as starter this year, then getting a quality depth player to pair with Steen to see who can step in for injury and do a decent job might be the best to expect.  Then the following year maybe take an OT higher.  There's always free agency as well as a stop gap if the guy is a solid enough starter.

😏, well damn! Thanks for sharing this, good stuff, I hadn't really started looking into Miami yet...time to change some narratives 🙂 .
