This team just got beat at the point of attack.  They could not tackle for crap.  It wasn't about scheme or a lack of adjustments.  It was just a shitting of the bed.

To be fair, we couldn’t cover them either.

Gotta love BG for owning it.

The Game Score Predictions window for the Cowboys game is open

As always, please tag your prediction post with @mattwill that way I will be sure to see/record it.  Score predictions can also have an optional "Bonus Pick" tiebreaker prediction.  So far over the course of the season 118 different EMB posters have made at least one prediction.

For anyone who missed the results of the first 12 weeks, the post below takes you to a recap of those results

Yup.

I'm beginning to think scheme is a bigger issue than a lot of people would like to admit. On offense they have an elite OL, but can't run the ball. They have elite pass catchers, but never scheme anyone open.

On defense, they certainly are not getting the most out of the talent they do have. The DL has gone ice cold in terms of production and the secondary is playing like the worst in football when it shouldn't be this bad.

I think the issues go deeper than "Some guys just missed a few plays" especially since the issues seem to be getting worse, at least on defense.

It will say alot if they can go into Dallas and win.  It's something they haven't done in awhile.

I'm not expecting them to win if they are just going to let Dak sit back there and let Lamb run free all game.  I'd like to see them be aggressive and pressure Dak more.

I am hoping having Roby helps with Lamb.  I would also like to see them use more stunts up front to make things difficult on the O-line.

@mattwill

Good guys in green... 39
Bad guys in blue... 35

Bonus: Dak throws a pick 6.

When doing so, they need to keep contain on Dak though, and not let him loose like last game, that's where he really hurt them, not from the pocket.

I remember watching the Cowboys lose 38-0 AT HOME to the Cardinals on MNF when I was a kid. The Cowboys went to the Super Bowl that year.

One bad game doesn't define a team. Hell, we stomped the Cardinals in 2008 but that didn't matter one bit when we played them in the playoffs.

I'm so down about that loss I'd love to have some optimism. They are last in the league giving up 3rd downs and in the 20s for a lot of other stats. They missed some tackles but isn't that also who they are? There is a massive talent gap between their offense and our back 7. They can scheme the crap out of the LB and if they go with dime they will run it down their throats. I just think it's a horrible match up. Dallas is good but they don't have the weapons, speed, and physicality that the 49ers have. They will still chew up that D on Sunday so the offense needs to get their crap together.

I do think I'm a jinx so I pick against them but I was all in with this season and it feels like a kick in the pants.

We definitely have too much talent on offense IMO to be struggling like this. Early in the year people likely chalked it up as Johnson being green, new and kind of growing into his own, but to me 12 games in, this offensive staff should have our identity figured out. It's just not there, still. I get that we do what works but it's not sustainable when you go up against good seasoned coordinators. Heck we go up against one of the best this week in Dan Quinn.

Defensively, we're lacking talent but the D-Line seems to be underperforming. But once again, Desai is new, not to football but new to calling the shots.

I'm hoping these coordinators find their groove because this team is built to win now - they need to find ways to call better plays given the talent we have. And Sirianni deserves some blame. We are not establishing drives, we are making it too easy for opposing defenses. And Jalen needs to understand that his scramble rollouts are not leading to any success on offense, just a free loss of downs because we throw it away.

Our offense has me worried to death moving forward, no one fears us.

Yep. How the hell can they not design plays to get them open more? Why do they not have an outlet or why isn't Hurts able to find them? It's BS. The 49ers always had someone open waiting to run wild with the ball as a 3rd or 4th option. There is no reason Hurts should have to hold the ball that freaking long. It's either bad coaching or bad design.

It feels like every yard is a battle though lately and it shouldn't be that way. There is way too much talent at the skill positions and OL.

It was an odd gameplan on offense.  A few times I noticed only 3 receivers going out - all blanketed, double covered.  Seemed like they were worried about pass-pro so focused on that with the gameplan.  Hence why Hurts seemed to have all day to pass - 7 guys blocking for him.  Obviously didn't work.

Just got an update from Yahoo fantasy that Swift is Questionable with an undisclosed injury 🤷‍♂️.  Anybody hear anything on Swift?

Other than the bad hit he took in garbage time?  Nope.  But I'm guessing it has to do with that.

I do think the exhaustion issue is real.  The next 2 games are big ones and they really need to get 2 wins out of them.  They have found a way to win difficult games on the road. They have to be a lot more sound than they have been to date.

Nothing has been really said about him yet. He went to the locker room early and hasn't been seen since so I'm guessing he's possibly in the concussion protocol

That's where I am. Just a terrible game and horrible matchup all the way around. Eagles coming off back to back games of heavy snaps for the defense, 2 emotional wins, SF having extra rest and revenge factor. You could see after a strong start the Eagles simply hit the wall and SF ran away with it. The tackling issues were awful and something we haven't seen this year.

Have to get it together to play another team with a rest advantage this week. If we can get it done, 4-1 in this 5 game stretch would be a homerun.

I'm looking at 6-2 in a crazy 8 game stretch.  Still great.

They don't designate questionable, doubtful, etc until later in the week. So yahoo is making things up.

Now I see why that play didn’t pop.

That was the fatigue factor,  and having no LBs.

Conceivable next time we see them we have Cunningham and Leonard. That could be a huge difference.

Alot of wins probably came from NFC East opposition as the division hasn't been very good outside of Dallas and Philly.

I can't remember the last time they beat a really good team in Dallas.

Could be just how the schedule is falling. True. I'll go with that AND home cooking :D
