Has there ever been a season with this much QB injury carnage?

1991. Unfortunately for us, it was exclusively the Eagles who were victims.

The Eagles facing more 2 high coverages than every team but Miami shows that opponents respect our passing game and don't fear our run game. Our run game is just too horizontal and not physical enough.

Also we seem to just love to run intermediate and deep routes so we literally just run right into coverage. Makes their lives easy.

The SF loss was unpleasant, but necessary.  In the standings, it was just a loss that didn’t even knock them off the 1 seed.  But the Eagles received a message:

They are not the best team in the nfl.  They are regressed from last year on both sides of the ball in each aspect of the game.  They have persistent flaws that are part of their 2023 reality now.

And they could still win the SB.  That 10-1 record and string of unquestionably lucky wins enabled a denial.  That denial sapp’ed anything dynamic or creative from the game plans or schemes…there was a pervasive "we are 10-1, it’s working, we aren’t changing anything no matter how it looks.”

And now they know they need to make chronic adjustments, not just halftime adjustments.

In the grand scheme of things this is correct and hopefully not just for this year but for the long run too. The 49ers exposed every single Eagles weakness for all to see. The question is, how do they respond? BG seems to get it. Is the rest of the team pissed off too? Did Howie take note at the positions he continues to ignore or where he needs to get younger and faster in a hurry?

The Eagles can be very stubborn in thinking their way always works. The 49ers just showed that no, it doesn't. I can't wait to see how this team responds.

Signing a TE that gets injured a lot

What will it cost?

I guess dog masks it is.

For some reason that sign looks like a black and white Philly Phanatic.

Not particularly insightful, but it does lay out a bit of how the operation runs.

Well should be to some who are quick to jump on the Coordinators when Siri has his grubby hands in the cookie jar in a major way.

A contract and roster spot. IMO it goes back to not signing a player that gets injured a lot. You may disagree and that's fine

OOOFFF yea, that's not a good look at all. AJ should be a bully as a blocker, especially against a punk team like the 49ers. What drive is that? Did it end in a FG or a TD? If that was a FG drive, you can easily say AJ cost them 4 points because that's a TD if he just gives average effort.

These guys were clearly gased. AJ has been banged up the last two weeks as well.

It doesn't cost a roster spot until 3 elevations from the PS.  And the contract isn't worth worrying about.  He'd get chump change, not massive dollars.

We have Goedert under contract and he gets injured every year.  Would be nice to have depth behind him.

Well we have Calcadude so it would be like signing a player that gets injured a lot that's better than the player we already have that gets injured a lot.

That was the first or second drive, IIRC.  A little early to be gassed.

Ahhh yes David Duke Carr thinks Hurts can't process a defense...

Hurts seems to be a better processor when he just drops back and distributes the ball instead of doing the incessant option nonsense.

Design good passing plays. Design good runs. Stop trying to make the offense rely on all the damn options; it's clearly been faceplanting for large chunks of these games. If the Eagles had even average talent, they'd be a bottom 10 offense.

The options make things fairly simplistic for Hurts, and Im not sure he can run any other offense.

Did you see how slow he looked on his receptions in that first drive?

More pistol please.

Heaviest investment on the team continues to come up short. These guys need to step it up. If bringing in Suh is what's needed then that doesn't say a whole lot for how the Eagles are spending on the DL.

He didn't play the 95 snaps last week.  His being tired on the first two drives is a weak excuse.  He had 62 snaps the previous week, that's hardly a massive overload.  He had 53 the week before, and had a bye before that.   No excuse to be tired on the first two drives.  He just doesn't like to block or on other plays where the ball doesn't go to him.  That's not unique to him as a WR, nor is unwillingness as a blocker as a WR.  It wasn't a good look for him, tired or not.

BG had 25 snaps and Nolan Smith only had 11. BG should be the closer at this point

Calcaterra and Okwuegbunam are expendable; sadly they're just not reliable. There's no real loss there as far as I see it. Ertz can help in 12 personnel and red zone offense. The risk is small to non-existent and the upside can be a difference maker given Zach's familiarity with players and set up.

We've been asking for this since week 3 😁

There's a difference between being tired and banged up/fatigued. Impacts the effort. I'm going to give the whole team a benefit of the doubt. Hopefully they look better this weak because none of them looked like they had any legs.

Is David carr mentally handicapped?

The amount of times he was sacked, probably

Eagles 24

Cowboys 38

They're just in a bad spot of the schedule right now against two teams the past two weeks who are coming off of 10-days rest. Dak owns this defense, especially at home, and they'll get going downhill quick. They also don't have an answer for Lamb in the slot. I do think they'll win out the rest of the schedule after this, but the gauntlet of games they've had the past month is just two much for these past two games I feel and they are worn down.

Lamb 2 TDs & Dak 70%+ completion rate

I disagree

Can you elaborate? Do you feel TEs such as Calcaterra and AO would contribute more down the line than Ertz would?
