Let's see what happens against Seattle.  They were always going to lose a couple in this stretch.

They were yes absolutely no doubt about that… It’s the manner of those losses coupled with the concerns that were very evident prior to those losses.

I am hoping the interceptions are an anomaly this year. Because that number is already higher than it was last year. That said hasn’t thrown a pick in 2 games. The fumbles I think might be it is what it is. He played 18 total games last year (includes playoffs) and he had 11 total fumbles. That means 61% of his games he had a fumble. Fast forward to this year, he has 8 fumbles in 13 games. That’s about 61.5% of his games. At some point in time this is starting to become who he is. The fortune last year was out of those 11 fumbles. He only lost three. Whereas this year he has 8 fumbles and has lost 5 of them.

To be such a strong guy he's really careless with the ball protection. He's still young he can fix it like Tiki Barber

I'd love to see Denzel Perryman brought in a vet LB. He'll be 31, but he still can play the game. He's more of a thumper but he would bring an intensity to the middle that this team is lacking. He signed roughly a $2 million contract with Houston this year.

I’d rather go someone young who can be a solution for more than potentially 1 year. I’d bring him in on a 1 year deal if i also went out and got someone like jewell or queen. I want somebody who’s going to solidify that position for three years minimum. The biggest issue the Eagles have had at linebacker is every year it feels like they’re playing musical chairs at that position. I don’t wanna keep playing musical chairs year in and year out

I'm more upset of who the 2 losses were against than the point differential. I'd trade the KC an Buffalo win for the 49ers and Cowboys any day of the week

I don’t have an answer to this cause I haven’t done the research enough. But if anybody wants to tell me a quarterback that had a fumbling issue and ultimately changed it, I’d love to know it. Because for the last decade, most of the ones I’ve seen have a fumbling problem continue to keep having the fumbling problem.

Eagles 28

Seahawks 21

QB1 continues to be a turnover machine

See I don’t think we are very good. I think we are above average. In a very average NFL right now.

Exactly, look at teams that lose the SB, and how they play the following season, the Eagles could be 7-6, but it’s not stretch for them to be 8-5, which puts them just about where they should be record and seeding wise.  The oddsmakers told everyone this when the 10-1 Eagles were underdogs at home, the point differential told everyone this.
Again though, when Elliot saved the day against Buffalo, why did Hurts look like his dog died?  Most QB’s would be excited they have a chance to win the game in OT, him and Kelce looked like playing any more football that day was the last thing they wanted to do, and since that game, that’s how the team has played.

That's what I meant. Bring him in as a vet piece but along with someone else. Kenneth Murray and Denzel Perryman would be great and I believe Sirianni may have been in SD with both? Maybe that was after his time there. Patrick Queen is probably a pipe dream.

Any hardware store. Seen something similar at home depot a few weeks back

Well, that just sucked. It was the first time I honestly wanted to just change the channel since maybe 2015. There was just zero fight in the team at all. After having a night to sleep on it, here's where I am at.

1. We punted once and yet scored only 6 points on offense. That should be impossible, but we did it. Obviously, 3 fumbles in your opponent's territory is just inexcusable. Add in the 4th down failure, and that's basically 4 turnovers. We aren't winning any games like that.

2. Controversial take #1 -- aside from the fumble, Hurts wasn't bad in this game. Despite awful play calling he hit Brown and DeVonta in the hands for big plays against tight coverage more than once and they failed to make the play. He's still too dependent on those 2 and refuses to look at anyone else, but I can't kill him for this game.

3. Brian Johnson, on the other hand -- enough. Yeah, I get it -- the OC didn't fumble 3 times. But the refusal to use the RPO, the brutal 4th down call when you know you're going to get a zero blitz, the refusal to run the ball in the first half. You see guys like Purdy and Dak -- their play callers attack the defenses weaknesses and scheme guys open. It feels like everything Jalen does on offense is in spite of the play calling.

4. The ball off Smith's hands in the end zone that would have cut it to 27-20, and then we turn it over on downs. Ballgame. DeVonta has to bring that in. Has to.

5. The defense...well, I think they actually played better this week than last week. Let's just get this out of the way -- picking up the flag when Davis was held on the first TD was total BS. And the PI on Slay was ridiculous. That's the difference between 10-0 and 3-0.

6. Controversial take #2 - Slay was actually OK in this game. However,  Bradberry is cooked. Just cooked. Bringing him back was a mistake. I'd rather see Jobe, Ricks or Ringo out there.

7. Going to 2 high safeties is killing the run defense. But I think the bigger impact is the snaps these lineman have played since the bye. We used to dominate TOP, and now we are getting dominated. Davis, Carter, Cox, Sweat, Reddick, Graham -- they are all wearing down.

8. Sean Desai is an embarrassment to my people. The talent is better than this.

This team needs a total reset and gut check. Next week the other team won't have the rest advantage, and the Seattle D can be had. This will be the make or break game for the season.

That should be fine really. Not many teams have a Brown or Smith. We finally have a surplus of talent on offense and it's just not showing

If this season spirals, Desai should absolutely be fired. He won't be, but he should be. There's more to lose keeping him than firing him. Worst case scenario if you fire him: you bring in a new bad DC and the defense continues to suck. So you didn't lose anything, you're the same level you were. Worst case scenario for keeping him: you lose a chance to better your defense and waste a year of Hurts' prime with a defense that won't allow them to win a championship.

Well dropped snaps count as fumbles on thr QB so some of that is Kelce. He can fix the fumbles when he's scrambling or sneaking with covering the ball up better or sliding. In the pocket with the pass rush around him... well those are tough. Maybe getting down or getting rid of the ball sooner helps with that. I think some play calling can help mitigate some of this with route concepts that get the ball out quicker

I don’t wanna make any excuses for the Eagles, but the more I think about it the more I tend to think that maybe this team is just gassed from everything that’s happened over the last year. To go as far as you did in the playoffs and then lose a Super Bowl in the fashion that you lost, that’s tough already. And then you come back and these games the first 12 weeks are mostly close and highly competitive. At some point you wear down.

We can say other teams in the NFL are playing the same schedule and everything. I don’t disagree. why I wouldn’t use it as an excuse. I tend to think there’s bigger problems with this team, but I also wouldn’t be so surprised if they were just running out of gas and running on fumes. That’s kind of what they look like since the second quarter against the 49ers.

Really I didn't even realize that they still sold those lol.

Plays I'd like to see:

-wheel route to the RB

-RB screen

-WR slant

-PA Bootleg with the TE releasing off the backside

-Any TE play in the middle of the field. Hook, post, seam.

-I formation runs. Counter, blast, off tackle.

Someone in South Philly lost their parking spots

Don't the curls that seem to be highly effective

I’m just asking for a QB who’s done it. Like I’ve seen QBs as they get more experience and better have their ints drop year after year. But usually with a Qb that fumbles the ball at a high rate, i haven’t seen it corrected like a tiki barber at rb.

We are certainly very good.  The question is if we are top two kind of good or just top six.

All things considered, IMO we are a good team, but no where near the top 3.

Even before the "gauntlet” they weren’t elite. The numbers and the eye test don’t say elite or top 3. With a competent defense we could be up there, but no team with an atrocious defense is elite / very good / top 2 or 3.

I’ll gladly be wrong, but I just don’t see it with what they have shown the entire year.

I mean yeah me too but I just think it’s the manner of those losses. If they lose both in close games and it’s a play or two here and there then fine… But it wasn’t. They were embarrassed by two teams who they are going to see again at some point.

Even if the Eagles had a competent defense, the issue becomes when you face better teams like San Francisco and Dallas, you’re gonna have to score points. Let’s say the eagles held SF and Dallas to just 24 points, the offense still wasn’t good enough cause they are super inconsistent for long stretches of games, poor play calls ant spots in games and turnover prone.

True, but it not the losing part that is the problem… it’s how they are losing. Getting dominated and blown out twice. One can happen, but two?!

The only teams that can separate in that discussion are SF and Dallas.  All other teams are seriously flawed.
