Devito being nearly sacked 30 times in 5 starts is impressive  he has been sacked 5 times including the times he came in as the backup

That would be heartbreaking

I think we've hit rock bottom with the defense and things will get better there tonight. But the masochist in me feels like the universe still has a gut punch to deliver us.

To beat SF, you're going to have to take risk. Which the Fangio/Desai system won't do. Hopefully Patricia will.

You can't wait for SF to beat themselves. You have to create turnover and take it to them.

Yes.

Hurts clearly has Covid that they’re keeping under wraps. At what point do you just keep him away from the team so he doesn’t get the rest of the guys sick?

Seems like that's what they've been doing.

I think it was directed at the defense's ability to induce a punt from the opposition.

And what happens when he’s in the locker room, huddle, etc.

My guess based on what I've seen today is that he won't be.

Though 13 games, Baker Mayfield has 8 multi-TD performances, and 0 multi-INT performances. With 3 games left, he is 500 yards and 3 TDs off his career highs. He should end the season with 4000+ and 30+.

If they had won a couple of those close losses they’ve had, we’d be having a very polarizing conversation about him right now.

I’m not saying, I’m just saying

Huge asterisk when he has full head coaching duties vs strictly D coordinator. Jim Schwartz is a phenomenal D coordinator but his HC’d teams had sucky defenses. Same with Steve Spagnuolo, same with Dan Quinn

Patricia also didn’t have the personnel in Detroit that he has here. Not saying it’ll be a good move, but this tweet gives little context to how it will play out

It LOOKED ugly, but in all honesty it was bang bang. Pittman laid out as much as humanly possible and Kazee arrived at nearly the same time. Slow motion makes everything look worse. If Kazee doesn't crouch he has Pittman diving full speed in to his crotch/knees. Kazee 100% has had some questionable hits throughout the year and that probably was taken in to account with the suspension but I don't think he really could have done much else here. Just an unfortunate body position for Pittman to be in as he made himself completely vulnerable going all out.

Solomon Wilcots this morning was trying to assert he shouldn't have been ejected from the game, and that the officials responded to the "aftermath".  Simply not the case, those flags came in pretty fast with some force.

At some point you just have to hold up.  I realize it's a really fast game, but when it's the same guys who are always playing on the edge of seriously injuring somebody then I agree with the league's decision.  Even the Steelers CB reacted like "no bueno"

Time for 5 point palm exploding heart technique.

Hurts status in serious doubt per Schefter.  Looking like Lock vs Mariota

Just like the NFL was hoping for when they flexed the game to MNF.

But how does he hold up? Just stop and let Pittman make a catch? That defeats the purpose of playing defense. He was flying to the same area that Pittman was and they arrived at the same time. They flags came in fast and with force because Pittman folded in half. I'm a firm believer that refs now throw flags just at the sight of a big hit with no thought of the intent. Kazee is a repeat offender. He needs to play smarter but in this case, I just can't see much else he can do.

@mattwill

I keep going back and forth.  So F it, I'll say:

Seattle: 27

Eagles: 20

Bonus:

If you can't spreadsheet a meme, then: 2 TDs for DK

My understanding is getting a punt return at all should be considered a win.

Well Patricia probably sucks.

The 2020 Lions would have maybe one player who would start for us (Jamie Collins). Not a single starter from their defense is still on the team. Their talent level sucked. Don't let Belicheck or his tree pick players.
