Yeah I've been to Dollywood and that whole area owes a lot to her. She's a national treasure. She's up there with Tom Hanks in the "they're just good people" group of celebrities, though I think Dolly's level of giving back to the community is in a world of its own.

One of the charities is her Imagination Library. Every child born in the state of TN gets a free book every month for their first 4 years. She wants to encourage a love for reading and education.

My wife is obsessed with her. Made me listen to a podcast about her recently that was actually way better than I thought it was going to be. You're spot on she's universally considered one of the most genuinely good people in the business. She gives so much to that area and her home town. She supported her old boss as he was dying even though he kinda screwed her over early in her career. She's not very political in general so I guess I understand the surprise from some people. Still attacking Dolly like that is beyond stupid.
