Let’s talk OL for a second.  The scenarios everyone is discussing:

1. Jurgens center with Steen vs Hennessy OG

2. New center…Hennessy vs high draft pick with Jurgens staying at RG.

I really don’t like option 2.  Jurgens silenced a lot of doubters by playing admirably at RG this year, but he’s a prototypical C, not RG.  He was a high second round pick because of how he projects as a C with our OL philosophy, not because of his traits as a G.  While he’ll be "fine” at RG, I don’t think he’ll play up to that pick status or match his fit as a C.  I see Jurgens at RG as "forcing it” more so than Steen at RG.

Could White make a change to 3-4 OLB like Reddick?

If so, then who are the middle linebackers? Baun is also better as an outside LB, Burks is a special teamer. That's an awful lot of outside pass rushers. I think White was signed to be in the middle really but who knows.

I think you need more competition and a higher level of talent at RG. Zak Zinter could be a nice fit there. Jurgens and Steen is just too much of a drop off for my liking. We are used to Kelce and Brooks/Seumalu. That looks really mediocre. I want the elite line we've been accustomed to.

I had 0 doubts about him as a center, as a rookie.  After playing RG I have a little doubt.

But I think he will be a better C than Guard. He's certainly looked it so far.

Interestingly Huff is listed as a DE, like Sweat and Graham.

So for now OLB is Reddick and Smith.

Baun's position I think remains in question.

I don’t want Nolan Smith to be a wasted pick that is buried on the depth chart.  I really like him.  I like Huff a lot too.  Honestly, I’d rather just jump into the future with both as our primary edge rushers.  So I like any listing that promotes their usage and invests less resources into declining assets (Reddick and Sweat).

If Huff was a double digit Sack guy as a rotational pass rusher,  I have no problem if Smith can become that behind Reddick till Reddick is gone.

They'll all be used.  How productive Smith can be in his time on the field is up to him.

Jurgens is the starting center going into training camp.  They have no interest in starting him a RG.  My guess is that they wanted Hennessy as a back up with starting experience at C. The competition will be at the RG position. I think the battle will be between Steen, Hennessy and a draft pick for the starting role.

I didn't think it was questioned that Cam was starting at center

I know some peops in here are pretty anti-Penn State but Caedan Wallace is intriguing to me.  Good size and athleticism ..  Can play both OG and OT

Hennessy shouldn't be able to beat out Steen; he played OT in high school and switched to C in college.  I think he only played one college game at guard -- mind you, that's one more game than Steen played at guard.  Still, Steen has 15-20 pounds on Hennessy and we would hope Stoutland has spent the past year getting him practice reps at guard.

It'll be interesting to see where these guys slot in.  Steen will either be a starting RG or a swing OT.  Hennessy will be a backup IOL and start at C if Jurgens goes out.  We'll have to see if the Eagles still have any plans to bring Jack Driscoll back.  Apparently, Opeta has signed with Tampa Bay.

We will be drafting two olinemen

Tory Horton at Colorado state can help himself a lot too. I don't think he will have a great WR workout.  But if he does...

Steen will be the starting RB, it would take a heck of a rookie performance to beat him out.

But they'll want a rookie OG b/c Steen is probably the first option at RT, and Lane probably won't play 17 games.

Steen moved from LT to RG as a rookie, you know Stoutland will be pushing him to make a jump this year.

No one has signed Driscoll, if he isn't getting decent offers, I can see him returning as depth.

Forget to log out of your random regular account? Steen a RB?

If you're gonna be selective, what better place than the coordinator you swear by?

How do you feel about Payton Wilson?

Do you think he's too much of an injury risk to pick in the second round? FWIW, if it's between him or Cooper for #50 or #53 I'd pick Edgerrin every time. Just wondering if you'd still pick Payton if Cooper was already selected.

Barkley is C and Jurgens stays at RG?

Devante Parker is speaking today with Kenny Pickett, so he likely signed this morning

I'd pay to watch Steen play RB for a series.

I'd go Cooper, Wilson, Gray in that order in R2.

No I saw what Zeke did during his career as a C

They're never going to be able to separate the two of them.

Wouldn't be opposed to drafting someone like Cooper Beebe in R2. I haven't looked that much into guards but I think it's a likely pick around there.
