The workout numbers from that Lackawanna player are fake. His agent confirmed it.

I can't believe Justin Simmons still hasn't signed. I just know Howie is waiting in the shadows, ready to pounce when the time is right.

Well you see, it's a fluid situation. He's asking for too much money. Folks, teams care more about cash than cap. Once he lowers his ask, he'll get signed.

I predict that one of Justin Simmons or Stephon Gilmore will be Eagles before the draft. I refuse to believe that they are done adding to a secondary that was so horrible last year. It sure would be nice if they used 22 on a corner but we all know they are going OT.

Is that what you are getting from sources around the league?

Dude, Caplan is so full of ishe, you can just tell someone is fake insider. At this point I just watch him once in a while to laugh.

Speaking of which you guys should definitely be checking out PHLY's Eagles show with Bo Wulf and Zach Berman. There are two guys who don't pretend to be insiders who just talk about Eagles football and have an entertaining podcast.

Yeah, not every owner is willing to actually write a check.

The cap is an accounting constraint that can be manipulated, but liquid cash is owner imposed constraint that is a hard limit.

I can't see them going for Gilmore. They've gotta go young if/when they cut Bradberry.

Hard limit, but variable by team.

He didn't run backwards far enough first.

Supposedly it is now.  Though I have no idea how his season went at Lackawana.

5 games played and had 14 tackles, 8 TFL and 4 sacks with 1 Forced Fumble

Only 5 games? I don't see how anyone even bothers at this point.

Howie isn't going to sign anyone and he will say he's happy with the guys they have and people on here will say he's a genius

Would have been a great UDFA pick up.

Led the team in sacks.  No idea if those games played were first 5 of season, last 5, etc..  still worth an invite

Live hockey is awesome. Probably my favorite live sport. The speed is just incredible to see in person. Enjoy!

Haven't been to WFC in quite some time, so I can’t really speak to the food there other than to co-sign the suggestion to go to Chickie and Pete’s before hand.

We know something about live hockey in the South Central.  Defending AHL Calder Cup champion (and all time leading championship winner) Hershey Bears play close by at the Giant Center. Can’t speak for my fellow York Countian, @bpac55 but I have been there a bunch. Currently in first place in the league.  They were so nice to the Scouts when we would go as a group, bequesting sticks and pucks that we used on bingo game nights as prizes.

My favorite part about NIL is watching some of these coaches whose best skills were convincing 17/18 year olds to sign with them fall flat on their faces. College recruiting was always weird, glad it's mostly above board now.

One of my dreams, that will never happen, is that the Bears would play a retro weekend at the old barn. Dad and I used to go to games there all the time. We'd sit by the organist and just have a great time watching hockey. It's where my Ron Hextall fandom started when the were still the farm team for the Flyers. The Giant Center is a great modern facility to watch hockey though. The Hershey Bears are an incredible organization, cream of the crop in the AHL. Sucks being a fan of the baby Caps but I get over that pretty fast.

Just your luck if they played at the barn you’d get behind a pole.  I like the Giant Center and the parking control for it and the park may be the best I have ever seen for a game.

I might look at Gilmore at FS.

The Athletic decided to grade the QB changes around the league. I found this one particularly funny:

New York Giants sign Drew Lock

Verdict: Upgrade

After a career reset in Seattle, Lock showed promise while filling in for an injured Geno Smithlast season. Daniel Jones, who is coming back from a season-ending ACL tear, seemingly is in his last days as Giants starter. After an encouraging 2022 campaign, the turnover woes and lack of effectiveness that have plagued him for much of his career resurfaced, stoking frustrations within the organization. Lock has a chance to capitalize and offer the Giants a fresh start at the position.

Then there is this:

Washington Commanders sign Marcus Mariota

Verdict: Downgrade

Washington is expected to draft a quarterback second overall. If the Commanders plan to use Mariota — who seemingly has lost his effectiveness as a starter — as the place-holder until their rookie is game-ready, they had better hope they’re not in for a lengthy development process. If Mariota is used merely as a veteran mentor for the prized young quarterback, then he should be fine. His experiences as the second pick of the 2015 draft and understanding of how to use his mobility to complement his passing skills could come in handy.

Yet this:

Philadelphia Eagles trade for Kenny Pickett

Verdict: Wash

Frustrated by the Steelers’ decision to sign Russell Wilson and give him the first crack at the starting job, Pickett requested a trade and wound up in Philadelphia, where he’ll back up Jalen Hurts. Pickett is younger than Marcus Mariota (last year’s Eagles backup), but he’s not as experienced, and his lack of consistency and effectiveness (he failed to throw a touchdown pass in seven of his 12 games last season) factored in the Steelers’ decision to pursue Wilson. Sitting and learning could help Pickett’s development, but it’s hard to view him as an upgrade at QB2 even though Mariota’s days as an impact starter seemingly have ended. The one area this move does help Philadelphia is financially. Mariota earned $5 million last season. Pickett has a base salary of $985,000, which gives the Eagles more money to spend elsewhere.

I think Pickett is quite a bit better than what Mariota showed last season.

You said running QBs are best! I feel like I’ve been cheated on.

3 cone and shuttle are running.  running + turning.  running + stopping.

Mahomes is a running QB.

However,  there is math involved.  2 groups of QBs   "running" and "non running".

Running QB are best.  Correct.

However,  that doesn't mean that the worst running QB is better than the best non running QB.

You add them up and divide.  Running QBs are best.
