  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

I think Payton Wilson may be the best LB in this draft and may be available later due to injury history. Possible Hicks type of prospect for us to steal.

While I agree that he is in the top 5 of LB prospects this year, no more damaged goods on the cheap in the draft. There is zero need to outsmart the room this year. For the record, I want Edge Cooper.

Just posted this in the DeJean thread, but since he was mentioned in here today figured Id drop it here too. This is really impressive.

This guy can play any role in your secondary and would be an amazing get at 22. I think he’s gonna climb too high and not be available for us but damn would I be happy if they got him.

Of course not… alshon is no longer on the team

What am I missing?  Any news out of the meeting yesterday at all?

It's apparently still going since not a single person has said anything about it in over 12 hours. Nothing about when it ended and obviously no results

Maybe Nick had a pajama party at Luries house like McCarthy did at Jerry's.

Josina Anderson hinted that demoting Sirianni to offensive coordinator was also on the table, apparently.

There is absolutely no way that’s what she’s hinting at or that it is on the table.

What was she hinting at then?

Do the right thing Eagles

That they are reaching out to coordinator prospects to work under Sirianni. It was a non-update. We already knew this was happening.

What makes you think this is not Brian Johnson's offense? I don't remember this extreme overuse of failed WR screens or the allergies to using the middle of the field, if this were sirianni's would we not have seen that last year?

Siriani claimed it as his own.

If he were a better coach, and had more offensive creativity & talent, he should’ve taken over playcalling. The fact that he didn’t is the biggest indictment to me that he’s not that guy.

Yeah, I figured it could be that as well -  that’s why I don’t get the point of the tweet.

Someone tweeted "not even a crumb”.  And she replied that was a "mustard seed lol” Hinting at something new.

Also, "flushing through” doesn’t normally mean "contacting or talking to” It usually means "going through names” sort of thing.

I think she was going for irony of them coming up with his name in the OC rolodex. As if to say, not even the team that hired him as a HC thought he was HC material.

Ah.  Could be that as well. Still a bizarre tweet, imo.

I personally take a a few others before Wilson  , also Wilson will be 24 in two months

Yeah he has an injury history. Knee caused him to miss a season so hes a 5th year senior. But then had surgery on both shoulders too and missed most of another season. Im sure a few will go before him because of that. But I dont think there are any others that have his combination of size, athleticism, and all around production. Sacks, run stuffs, and coverage plays.

He will be the best value at LB for sure due to his injuries because I think you may get the best LB in the draft, possibly in the late second round.

Another guy I like a lot who doesnt get talked about yet is Liufau from ND.

Injuries aside, who do you like better than Wilson on the football field?

It's a pandora's box either way.  Firing a HC who took you to the playoffs every year and was one year removed from nearly winning you the Super Bowl is going to give the Eagles a major negative reputation stain among future coaches.  It's a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation but it isn't an easy answer one.

So while a lot of people on the board have met me in person over the years, I think outside of @brkmsn, no one in the blog has ever met me face to face.  So you may not know this but I'm in consulting.  Tech to be specific.  And while I'm expected to be a nerd who can analyze numbers, come up with patterns and deliver solutions, another aspect of consulting is working with the client to help guide them to understanding the solutions to the problems they face.

I think I came up with a pretty elegant way to navigate this pandora's box.

Rando: Mr. Lurie.  You just fired a coach who took you to the playoffs EVERY single year, including a Super Bowl run last year where he came up just short.  Why?

Sometimes you just need to think outside the box 🤷‍♂️

That's pretty much a "I'm not going to fire you, I'm going to make you quit" move.

He probably did that to keep people from attacking Johnson. As much as I dislike sirianni and his idiotic antics he will take the heat for his people.

The reason I don't believe him is exactly what's in your second paragraph. But instead of "if he were a better coach", change it to "if it were really his offense".  If this was actually his offense and he had even an inkling of how to fix it, he would have (unless he's just an awful coach)

Awful backer draft , cooper is my top choice

I also like guys like Barrett , Toure ,Watson in a bad backer draft , this is a great draft to need offensive players

I'd agree with that.

Yeah you can take that different ways.  Nick's name "came up" as in, talking to potential coordinators obviously working with the HC Nick came up.

She's basically toying with people that there's no new news, so here's an "update" that is something obvious.
