I'm waiting for the NFL to catch up with their mistakes at the QB position.

Mahomes is the only QB in the NFL good enough to compensate for the roster limitations imposed by these mega contracts.  It's not easy to find a Patrick Mahomes.  It is, however, *easier* to build the most stacked roster in the league and guide it to the promised land with a system QB.  It all falls apart when you pay that system QB big money.  You get maybe 1-2 years before the contract hits to still be at the top of your game, but it drains the roster.

I suspect that everyone in SF knows that; it will be interesting to see how they handle a Purdy extension.

That's the market and this is a QB driven league. Franchise QBs aren't going to suddenly get paid less. NFL football is unwatchable with bad QB play.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Trading for Stafford created millions of long term cap savings for the Rams, which was a big part of the double first round pick cost.  And then signing him to a big extension right after winning the SB almost immediately limited the team's flexibility to maintain their talent.  I see Stafford as being evidence to support this problem.

Stafford's 2021 cap hit: 20M

Hurts 2024 to 2026 cap hits: 14M, 22M, 32M.

I don't understand how there is no news at all.  Do none of these NFL insiders or local beats have any sources to get word of which way Lurie is leaning or what the decision was or if it is still being determined?

I could take the train.🤭😅

Again, it would be a dream come true.

And one of these days I’m gonna see them at the Linc, at least I hope so.

Get to philly and take the train (subway) to the game. Packed with Eagles fans. I've done it a few times, once with a 9-month old strapped to me in very cold weather and after numerous flights - totally worth it. Do it!

The good news is that he has a very tradable contract.

And you're right: A two-three year window. three because 46M in 3 years might not even be a top 10 QB contract.

They'll restructure by then and the cap will be higher.

The NFL needs to re-think:

  • Paying big contract to any QB, it's become the norm (Daniel Jones, Dak, etc.)
  • Hiring a Head Coach who has only been a coordinator for 1-2 years.  They need more time to develop and be prepared for Head Coach (there can be exceptions). They are rushing to hire away the next "bright mind" and maybe they need more time to develop their craft as coordinator first.

So isn't this Stoutlands area to fix?

Maybe we should fire him.........(sarcasm)

Stoudland is in charge of the running game and the OL was not that great this year so as good as he is, he's fair game to criticize.

Oh I will do that in the future for sure. Just hope that it won’t be during a season like this one.😅😅

Multiple Eagles are saying this. Was TB's scheme that different and never before seen that they couldn't adjust mid game? If it was, hire whoever created that scheme right now. It makes them look so bad in not being able to figure it out or alter their plan.

Da F?  it looked like they telegraphed the ish out of who was coming.  How hard is it to say "hey look at all those guys they have coming; let's block most or all of them?"

Devonta Smith showed up….

Dickerson and Jurgens were getting owned without the blitzing

Schefter on the pregame show, he didn't have much to say about the Eagles other than that the longer it goes on the more likely it is that Nick Sirianni is back.

I honestly can't go back and watch.  I don't even want to watch clips.

Currently watching the flyers look like ish so I have that.🙃

All I want today is for the Niners to get hammered.  I suspect I will be very unfulfilled today.

Jeffery is taking his damn time until all the other coaches are gone

Light rain throughout the game.  Could matter.

Edit: Actually slightly moderate rain predicted, not light.  I didnt slide the slidey thingy to the right time frame. Now I am actually thinking it will matter.  Go Pack go.

For some reason I thought you lived closer to Greensboro.  It’s a good spot, especially for views of Lake Norman. Their menu is pretty selective.  I think they literally only had 4 entrees. We’ve got good representation of the Charlotte area in here. Off the top of my head it’s me, @Iggles25, @Parrot Head, you, and @olsilverhair is stilled chained up in my basement in Mint Hill. I’m sure there’s more!

You’re not going to interview any coordinators before a head coach is fired (new coach will want to bring them or be involved in interviews) and you’re not going to announce a coordinator firing this time of year if the head coach is to be fired

Any news about Eagles hiring or firing coordinators means Sirianni is back
