I don't think Chiefs wanted to lose this guy. They were high on him shifting to guard. But time kind of ran out over there. Think he is the surprise of this offseason and makes the roster. Stoutland now has a new and young pet project.

They signed a couple of projects in UDFa as well.  I totally agree with the prior thought that a 4th RB can be a ps call up these days if need be and you roster the OL prospects with promise

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

I think they are really high on Fred Johnson. He's not here to be Lane's eventual replacement, but he's been around the organization for 2 years now and should be able to step in when needed.

I don’t think they are that high on him. Lane missed time and Johnson didn’t get a single meaningful snap. I think they view him as a backup LT more than anything.

The Sixers didn't collapse, they aren't good or healthy enough. The problem is fans convince themselves before the playoffs every year that they are good enough. They were not going to win this series or accomplish anything with their most important player on one leg. Was never in the cards. What's happening is exactly what's supposed to be happening.

Whatever terminology you want to use is fine. To not get past 2nd round in Embiid's tenure is an utter collapse each year. This team had a better bench than past years. But they just seem to choke under pressure. And have been underachieving. Had leads in Plenty of games and series over the years and literally COLLAPSED. Should have been 2nd best team in the east with this roster. Embiid is playing well enough so don't wanna hear about injuries. Supporting cast goes into a shell. Per the norm.

This is just how I view it, could be completely wrong, but I think they were using 2023 as a year for him to learn both T positions so he could be ready to be a swing tackle moving forward. They had no intentions on him playing in 2023.

I think they wanted him to focus on LT last year. It’ll be interesting to see if he’s cross trained this year

Man I wish someone stuck with me the way the Sixers stuck with Tobias Harris. All these years of disappointment and he still finished off that contract.

Sixers won’t win anything till Embiid is gone. NBA won’t allow the Sixers to win until they are completely washed from the tanking years.

Exactly Kinnard is the same age as some of these picks. He’s more advanced than a UDFA.  We’ll see obviously. But I think he has a legit shot

Kinnard is pretty ponderous. If he plays they’ll have to put a TE on his side to negate a speed rush. He has a decent anchor. Maybe he’s tightened up or dropped some weight. Hopefully.

I look forward to seeing what Morey's grand plan is for this offseason that he has been building up for.  I think LeBron would be the absolute perfect fit for Maxey and Embiid.  Rumors suggest it's Paul George.  We shall see.  Sixers have a ton of cap space and some draft assets to trade as well.

The NBA aren’t stopping them they’re stopping themselves. Putting even 1% of blame outside of the organization is ludicrous.

Probably bringing in LeBron and Durant.

+34 might be even better if he wasn’t forced to basically play the last 31 mins of the game today cause they couldn’t rest him. he was basically gassed in the 4th quarter and could see it. If they were just competent with him on the bench the Sixers might have won game 1 and 4. Instead they were atrocious in those stretches and they were big time differences. It’s a 71 point difference this series with and without him on the floor. Their rebounding hasn’t been good but really their non-Embiid/bench mins have been their biggest issue in being down 3-1 and not up 3-1

One thing I hope we see this year is creativity from Kellen Moore and Michael Clay. I'm telling you guys, we are going to love Ainias Smith. He can line up everywhere. He has a great jab step and absorbs initial hits so well. He's not explosive fast but he just moves so well with the ball. Reminds me somewhat of Dante Hall with his elusiveness. I hope he lines up in the slot, in the backfield and in motion. Same with KR. I hope Clay is already drawing up unique return options.

Looking at the roster again, you have to wonder if Kenny Gainwell has any value in a trade now. If, like @judunno suggests, they carry 3 RB on the roster, maybe they keep a guy like Kendall Milton or Tyrion Davis-Price as RB3. Both bring a whole different skillset to RB. Ainias Smith could even be a hybrid Slot/RB. They could even bring back Boston Scott at this point if they wanted to. Barkley and Shipley are both 3 down RB. It sounds like intentions for Shipley could eventually be Saquon's successor.

Great draft, great offseason so far. What's the plan for TE2 though? Castles? Wilson in a speculative hybrid role? Albert O? Calcaterra?

I realize the offseason is still relatively young from Howie's POV when you take into account the moves he makes after OTAs, minicamp and roster cuts (and that's not even saying what he can package in a trade). That's a glaring weakness in an otherwise relatively robust roster.

CJ Uzomah is the answer this year. Probably draft a guy next year to eventually replace Goedert.

Uzomah

Walker steps into the starting rotation and is just following suit.  So far so good.

I think Steen remains their top backup at LT and might even be the top backup to RT.  Not ideal, but if push comes to shove... I think he's the guy and they slide Hennessy into RG.

The draft didn't provide the OL early, and didn't offer any OT prospect, but they did get some intriguing guys for Stout to work with inside.

There are a few vets still on the street that they could look to bring in as an OT3 option.

Forgot about him. Yeah perhaps as a fall back option, he would jump the others. Certainly just a placeholder though. Maybe I'm just a touch bitter we didn't land Theo Johnson on Day 3. Bowers was never realistic. Next year is definitely primed for TE, edge and LB.

I put the mush on Walker.

OT 1st round, Edge 2nd round, TE, LB in the 3rd round and call it a day.

Love it. And we got 9 picks to have at it (of course that's gonna be reduced to around 6 when Howie waves his wand yet again for stronger 2026 picks).

Maybe. He’ll be 27 soon though and has been in the NFL since 2019. He’s more journeymen than a developing prospect, imo.

First time in a long time the Cowboys have had a draft where I saw damn, they made some killer picks. I like Cooper Beebe but he isn't a can't miss guy.

Kneeland will be a good one. They lost Tyron Smith this offseason and a month later they replace him with a guy Lane Johnson took under his wing. They got him by trading back no less... Proof you don't need to draft a replacement two/ three years before a guy leaves. Beebee is a big strong tough guard. Got an underrated LB in Liufau and Caelan Carson in round 5 was an absolute steal.

One thing to be happy about with a 1st round loss, it guarantees no more Paul Reed, as contract becomes nonguaranteed for $8M a year for 2 more years. No thanks! He really came up short this year after everyone thinking he may take the next step. Morey gets one final chance to clean up this mess this offseason. Can't say I have a ton of faith. You can tear this down and start with Maxey and  see if someone gives you a huge haul in an Embiid trade, which I don't know if Morey has the guts to do.  Crazy offseason ahead! Ought to be unpredictable and fun to follow. I am already looking ahead after today. Team is dunzo!

best PFF at LB for the Eagles.  Yes,  I guess we'll see if his being the best last year was due to, what exactly?  Top athleticism,  which was known to us (me) before he was on my udfa list?   There was certainly inexperience shown last year,  but when you combine the inexperience, that was there,  with the top athleticism,  that was there,  you got the best PFF of all the linebackers on the Eagles,  so, the inexperience goes away,  the top athleticism stays,  and the PFF goes to the 70s and maybe the 80s.   He had a PFF over 80 in his one start,  the win over the Giants.   Games before and after that win were Eagles losses,  and VanSumeren didn't play as much or at all on defense in those games.

I like VanSumeran, good size, good athlete if he can put ot together he could be good.

We'll see what happens, eagles ILB depth is pretty rough, he should have a chance to make the 53 if he shows out.
