  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Punt returns are stressful for players.  Big hits, big pressure…Desean Jackson is a guy who had the league moving in slow motion for him early on, so it was no problem.  It was a real problem for Maclin, Reagor, and others.  I’d prefer to keep DeJean away from PR and get him to focus on being a great DB, where he already might have multiple positions thrown at him.

Rodgers, IIRC, has been a KR, not a PR.  The Eagles don’t even value KR.  They’d put Jordan Davis there for all they care.  Now that Covey has earned their trust at PR, I don’t think they’ll be in a rush to pry it away.

Jackson broke the mold for eagles rookies. After his rookie year he was a situational punt returner after his value was displayed. Sure his miracle at the meadow lands play is in everyone’s mind but lined up deep for maybe 10% of punts the eagles forced during his career here. Maybe.

Looking back on some other draft videos I watched and remember them talking about our prospects- here is where Daniel Jeremiah talks about Ainias Smith. EJ Snyder is very high on him too, as a WR.

Here's a a Jets dude talking about how Beckton's dominated the Eagles last year.  Of course he's probably skipping the bad plays

We traded 2 picks 50 and 53 in the second round to trade up for Cooper DeJean.

We missed two players in this range. DT, Edge, OT , C, S, TE. Take your pick.

I see 1 I like. But thank you fellow arm chair GM.

Get him in Moorehead U asap

Yes. Time will tell. I hope Cooper DeJean is the next coming of sliced bread.

I think I'm still butt hurt because, by moving up to get Cooper Dejean, Howie messed up my day 2 Master of the Draft...

Ah this makes sense. Sorry your emb bragging rights took a hit at the expense of the team getting better on paper 🤣

Pre-draft Dylan McMahon talk

Becton is more comfortable at left tackle and more dominant there. He has the Andre Dillard issue of just not adjusting well to the right side. Hopefully that changes. Looked dominant against Eagles on left side. Regardless, a nice  upgrade from Driscoll at swing tackle, with starter potential. If he and Kinnard are long term pieces, that could change the drafting of top OL in early rounds next year. Gonna be fun to see their development. Stout has some good talent to work with this year, including Steen as well. And the new draft picks. Opeta and Driscoll were stale and capped out.

I like it!

If he's healthy and his weight isn't too great, that would be fantastic! Just fantastic! For a guy that big, he's very nimble. Lordie😍!

I'm sure there's guaranteed money in there. Howie probably isn't paying him a lot but I'd bet that a few million is guaranteed

Sure but won’t be a major in the grand scheme of things. I doubt the guaranteed money is such that it guarantees him a spot on the roster.

I'm going to double down on my "play Steen at guard" take. He's athletic enough. He's physical enough. He has an entire year in the Stoutland system.

If he fails he fails. But you have to let him play and figure it out.

Especially now that we have an alternative at backup OT

Incredible feet. 360 pounds. Oh, man! If he's healthy!

Ugh.  That’s horrible.  Sanford is about 30 minutes from Orlando.

Are you suspecting Mickey and Goofy may have been involved in this?

Sadly, the time of year when scouting contracts end. Neil has a full thread of scouts leaving various teams.

I saw a review of him vs the Browns where he was pretty bad

Feels like we are losing a lot and not getting new guys in the front office

There we go. Backup OT was a major hole on the team and one injury to either Mailata or Johnson would put the team in a real bind. Good to see Howie is always working. Who knows if this move works out but once they didn't get the type of depth they wanted in the draft, sensible to take a bit of flyer on a kid who hasnt worked out at all but has some great tools and see if you can coach him (and if he can stay healthy)

This is how you know how spoiled we are as fans. This is an issue for virtually every single team in the league

Hunt + all the 2025 draft picks we got.

Eagles ended up with DeJean, Hunt, Shipley, A. Smith, Trotter Jr and a 2025 5th rounder after all the trading back.

Washington picked at the three picks and took Sainristil, Sinnott and Dominique Hampton.

I think everyone can be a PS guy under new rules

But there is a limit on vets. 2 or 3 IIRC plus four with no more than two accrued seasons.

Eagles have yet to designate an International Program Player.  Every team gets an IPP slot on the PS this year.   Praise Olatoke may be that signing.  Very fast, (4.36)  practically no football experience.  Good size at 205 6’2”.  He is Mailata level green.  Never played HS or College ball.  One season of club level football.

Saying "if Mekhi Becton is in shape and healthy he'll be great" is kinda like saying "if John Ross learned how to be a wide receiver he'll be great" at this point. I'm good with the signing but keeping expectations low.

Lotta guys look bad against Miles Garrett. Becton has been snake-bit with injuries. Played last year on one leg. However, if he is truly healthy he’s a monster. And if Stoutland wants him AND we’re paying him $5.5M, it looks like Stout thinks he can be brought all the way back. I’m over the moon about this.

We have it pretty good... but one championship since 1960 isn't exactly like having a trust fund.  We do worry about all the stuff, because we've had seasons go down the toilet just about every way possible.

John Ross never didnt know how to be a WR. He was fantastic. His issue has always been health.

We have been spoiled for almost 25 years that I’ve been paying close attention.
