Have had him on my fantasy team.  Very good player.  Has declined some but can still play.  Smart by the Phillies.  These types of underrated players win games.

Spartans used to encouraging smashing their fellow soldiers because it helped develop camraderie.  Maybe more teams should encourage teamate smashing in order to build chemistry.

The guy who "mentored" Hurts might not be the best source to go to with this question.  Also, I don't think Hurts was "the first guy" fans went to.  Bradberry, Morrow, even Slay were logically looked at by fans.  Most fans came to realize the offense was dysfunctional well after the offense became dysfunctional.  Casual observers thought Hurts should be an MVP favorite when the team was 10-1.  Hurts wasn't as good as he was in 2022, from Week 1 onward.

@Original Sin I was just watching some Jordan Travis.

His escapability is about on par with Johnny Manziel level sorcery. No one was tougher to corral for a sack than Manziel, but Travis is kinda ridiculous with it too.

I seriously question his arm strength. There are a lot of slow floating lobs.

I dont mind him as a day 3 potential backup. I dont see him as as a top QB who will be a steal due to his injury.

I love your confidence in Hurts but right now we can’t have him at #2. He’s just about top 10 off the back of last year. If you put in his 2022 season sure that puts him up but then you need to add his first full season as a starter which puts him back down.

I wasn't suggesting anything else.    I was positing him as a short yardage back, not a lead back.  He's not a replacement for Swift, he's a replacement for Boston Scott.

To me, the blocked PAT was 100% on the kicker.  Super low trajectory, that execution by the player (or perhaps a bad snap or poor hold).  It wasn't an issue with the blocking scheme.   There's only so much a ST coach can do.   He can't snap the ball, hold the ball or kick the ball.  He can design the blocking scheme.   That wasn't on him.  Nor was the muffed punt, it was poor execution by the guy who didn't clear out on the punt.

Most pitchers don't know how to pitch anymore.   Most hitters don't know how to hit anymore.

Strikeouts and home runs are not the only goals.     

 

Complete game shut outs (or even just a complete game) are more fun to watch than home run derby style track meets.
