I'm not saying it's how I would've allocated cap space, I just get tired of the logic of looking at past SB winners as the only way to build a team. Like it's some disqualifier if one position out of 22+ doesn't line up exactly with how other successful teams have executed in their run to success. "Running QBs can't win SBs" "Dominant defenses can't win SBs" "Elite RBs can't win SBs" etc.

It's extremely difficult to win a SB and reducing the possible ways to do so by limiting yourself only ti what other teams have done in the past ignores so many other and much more critical factors for what it takes to actually get a ring.

There's still a lot of evidence that investing a lot of money in a running back is one of the worst ways to build a Super Bowl team. CMC was one of the very rare exceptions of a highly paid RB who even made it to the Super Bowl over the last 15 years. RBs tend to wear down around age 27. They rely a lot on the offensive line. When you only have so much money to spend, there are other positions of greater value for your high contract players.

That wasn't a blockbuster deal that they can't recover from should it go left. Jacobs got more.

Loved Baun coming out of the draft, but he's a tweener. If he hits, he'd probably hit like a Luvu type. More likely he's backing up Reddick/Smith or playing out of position.

Don’t confuse him with Mr. Roids Ryan Braun

I would be on board for them to bring him in as a slot CB... then again it's a really solid draft when talking about slot CB

Life is hard as a rookie CB. And specifically slot CB has a lot on their plate. Id rather sign the vet slot CB than draft one.

A slot CB isnt worth a high draft pick anyway. So when you look at the great slot class, and then Sainristil is gone in early round 2, how thrilled will we really be about starting the 5th round guy?

Ok but what about passing the ball with a $250M QB and 2 soon to be $100M WR’s plus Goedert?

None of that changes. Their # of targets weren't the problem last year, it was the way they went about trying to get them the ball. Eliminate the WR screen and get those balls down field.

-AJ Brown had 106 catches

-DeVonta had 81 catches

-Dallas Goedert had 59 catches

246 catches on 353 targets.

There were 54 catches between OZ, Julio, Stoll, Calcaterra, Scott, Covey and Penny.

Let's go back to Hurts rushing numbers. He had 157 carries. 40 were sneaks. 117 were called runs or scrambles. I wish I could find the numbers that shows scrambles. If Hurts improves on scrambles, throw aways and taking sacks, those 54 catches from anyone not WR1/WR2/TE1 could bump up significantly.

lol Eagles continue to go poverty at LB.

Low risk, probably ST backup deal.

There’s a reason CJGJ is still available.  He decent enough, but he’s on the verge of being on his 4th team at a relatively young age.  That factors in all of this… and there is a reason for it.  Eagles fans should not be blinded by his number of interceptions the year we had him

I’d rather draft a safety…and just hope w/ Fangio on board, a better one will be selected

CJGJ is a very solid safety - especially in Fangio’s system.  Ball hawk plus he’s typically all over the field - very disruptive - something our secondary missed last season.

I'd be perfectly ok giving CJGJ a 2 year deal to play the slot and drafting the future slot CB in April. Curl or Simmons would be solid at S

You can make that argument on its own without introducing the fallacy that the only way to build a SB winning team is to limit yourself to the roster construction of the winners of the past 10 years. When you've got repeat winners like the Chiefs and Patriots, your sample size actually shrinks from 10 down to 6. Hell, if you exclude Brady and Mahomes, you're down to only 5. There are far better ways to state your case.

1 year band aid deal. Why not give him 2 years, there needs to be some continuity.

Eddie Jackson is still out there. Played his best ball under Fangio

Baun is actually a stud. Two whole sacks in his 4 year career.

We will never have LBs in Philadelphia

Doesn't seem to be the off-ball type given the posts.
