Releasing Sweat would feel very much like releasing DeSean Jackson. For different reasons. DeSean was "character issues" ie didn't want to drink smoothies and sleep for 10 hours per night, but they're both young and productive, and the team just out of the blue just has a fixation on not wanting to pay them and a complete desire to get rid of him it seems.

There’s Devin White (sucks except for blitzing), Tyrell Dodson (one year wonder), Jerome Baker (Fangio knows him), so not much at LB.

The Eagles lost Byard.   They need to replace Byard.

The Eagles have a lot of bad or terrible CBs.  They need to add a CB who is above average,  nudging some of the bad/terrible 40/50 PFF guys back to the practice squad or elsewhere.

IMO they need to focus on safety now and prioritize drafting a couple quality off the ball LBs.

I wouldn’t love spending a premium pick. Just pay a fair market deal and use the premium picks on expensive positions.

Releasing Sweat would be stupid.

But it's not in the same stratosphere as releasing DSJ.

Have a really good Gilbert Arena story. I used to go to the University of Arizona Wildcats basketball practices when he was there. And he would always talk to me and my best friend after practice about video games and all sorts of stuff. And one time after practice, they were leaving to go on a road trip. And he’s just sitting there talking to us for like a half an hour. And you hear lute Olson just yell"Gilbert get on the Fing bus" and you just see his eyes light up and he’s like oh crap I gotta go just runs to the bus. 

I forgot Isaiah Simmons, but he also sucks and might be a sucky safety. Actually he’d be perfect here.

Unlike LB there are still some really good options left so he really hasn't.

I'm still confident they will get one of CJGJ or Simmons. LB looks like it's going to be a shitshow again.

If we sign Jerome Baker, we'll be fine.

The issue with LB and S is, if you don't make it a priority in minute of the tampering period, you end up sorting through some of the less reliable players because others will pay more.  It's worse when you struggle to draft players in those positions and perceive those positions can be done on the cheap in FA.

To be fair, FA hasn't started yet, so some patience is as least warranted

Interesting that NFL.com doesn’t consider Safety a need for the Eagles…and that they list the WR position first.  Who put together this info, I wonder?

As I've said before, I like the addition for 2024, just not the contract.  Barkley is going to be really good for this team.  But he's not remotely one of the best playmakers in the league.  That's just crazy talk.

Is it possible that, behind this OL, he more closely resembles the player drafted #2 overall and becomes one?  Sure.  But he just can't be labeled that right now.
