If you see it like I do…then that’s a huge reasoning for the problem there. Slower…taking longer to develop…against the heavy blitz ….

Your own screenshot shows him open. Hurts needs to throw to the spot where AJ will be. Waiting to see AJ actually open before he throws is too late. That is also what is wrong with the comeback route tghrows. The time Hurts waits to make the throw allows the opposing DB to close on the catch point and go for a PBU.

There’s no yard of separation. The defender is actually still ahead of AJ deeper at the time the ball needs to get out.

Look at your own screenshot. AJ has planted his right foot and is making his cut to the left. The Giants DB is trailing him, not ahead of him. The separation is closer to 2 yards rather than 1 yard.

Wake up finally here guys.

Fred Warner done for the season.

That is open in the NFL.

Compared to the coverage on LaPorta on the TD pass Goff threw last night, AJ is on the field by himself.

Campbell's 83.2 grade from PFFis 10th in the NFL out of 137 linebackers, while his 380 snaps are third at the position. His 84.4 grade in coverage is 4th at the position.

If you think our play calling is bad just watch the last 2 minutes of the Jets game

To be fair watching the games this week (albeit on red zone) it did make me feel a little better about us and where we are at. We have issues to fix and who knows if we fix them… But we know we have the talent and we have seen this team put it together in the big spots. Few teams right now look all that good, the NFL is rather average across the board.

AJ runs pretty much the exact route that gets open quickly vs the blitz. Runs straight ahead with inside leverage. The whole middle of the field to use. Easy safe throw vs a blitz

The easy throw vs the zero blitz is over the middle... the slot DB has to cover both directions, the QB and the WR know the leverage.

The outside CB is looking to jump a route when it's a blitz... the out route thrown sjort or behind is potentially the easy pick 6.

Just an awful decision.

As they discussed just now, Hurts goes through his ups and downs just like any other QB. His downs have a tendency to be more extreme when they occur, so we shall see.

The run game on both sides of the ball is showing where they are just not the same on the lines. Carter and Smith missing time and the OL injuries aren't helping. That needs to be cleaned up for sure.

Ham has eyes, but he does not see. Is he a potato? Or a needle? Or a hurricane?

As Ezekiel said to the dry bones …

Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, which has eyes to see but does not see, and ears to hear but does not hear; for they are a rebellious house.

Not yet he isn’t. Right after Hurts threw it he did though.

Holy crap!!! Zadarius Smith retired on us.

When Fangio uses a zero blitz... are you worried about giving up an out route or the pass down the middle?

With Q and Cooper as the Boundary CBs less the out route than down the middle where the Safeties need to pick up the receiver.

The out route is the same...regardless of zero blitz.. the zero blitz concept opens up the middle of the field.

Football 101 concepts...

You throw where the blitz came from

Use motion to try to decipher the coverage.

You find your best matchup ( your player vs theirs)

All this leads to an easy decision to find AJ... in man coverage.. right where the blitz was coming from over the middle.

It's really high school level stuff.

What defense or blitz call makes you worry about an out route?

That Out run like a pro easily could have resulted in scoring a TD

The QB should never have looked there. The CB on the left could have slipped and fell and the QB shouldn't have even seen it.

The talk in the local media is that Dotson didn't expect the ball. I know you have your agenda... but it absolutely seems the QB isn't real popular at the moment inside the locker room.

And the kicker for the local media....is Smith. He is seen as a calm level headed team first unselfish guy. The vibe is that he isn't too happy with the QB at the moment.

That DB was off AJ…so it was longer developing route against that coverage. I’m adding it’s taking longer for AJ this season.
