Vrabel wasn’t asked about Hurts….was asked about reasoning behind Eagles sustained success. His response heavily pointed toward Hurts.

Ouch! #things looking real rough for #Hurtshaters! Totally have to rely on most inexperienced O coach limited under Siri as HC for bashing Hurts still.

O doubtful to be fantastic. Entire organization setup around Hurts against opportunity to optimally attack up passing stats. Conservative HC, first time backup QB running the O(Mannion), top elite D, having the lead in games too often….

08/21
Signed C Zeke Correll and WR Brandon Hayes. Placed CB Tariq Castro-Fields on Injured Reserve. Waived WR Johnny Wilson with an injury designation.

Siri doing a GREAT job as CEO, delegating tasks to others, making them do the hands on work, earning their keep, while cultivating the culture that has set us apart in recent years. The culture players we let walk try to come back to. You can be in a group, you can be on a team or you can feel you are Part of the TEAM. Siri has the last one down better than any coach we have had and his results prove it. Going to be a potent offense once Lemon gets back and gets acclimated. Nice to hear Hurts is FINALLY throwing in the middle(or being forced to through play calls) because if he doesn't get that down(like we have all except 1 wanted to see since year 2) then getting Lemon would be a wasted pick. That was one of the steps most of us on here were hoping to see much earlier on. That will also help Goedert and ultimately Stowers. Keeping that O line healthy is a must, but we're seeing some decent BU depth that wasn't there before. Bark and Tank should both be better than last year with our beat up O line. That's going to make the passing game much more functionable. D going to be one of the top units barring injury. I hope the team is getting the classroom work in and down. Get the W week 1 and let's see where this goes. Zero reasons this O can't get 30PPG (AVERAGE-not per game) As long as Hurts doesn't sell the team out again with quitter side deals. Mannion going to force him to play his position now and lead instead of being carried. I will say it again, people are sleeping on Wicks and shouldn't. He is getting the opportunity of a lifetime he wasn't getting in GB

You just sound stupider and stupider pushing the Bell hate because you don’t like the kid…. Give it a rest nobody cares you hate him…. Nothing but positives have come out about him all offseason.

On top of playing well(one of the very few) that did against the ravens.

Please don’t quote the clown. Some of us have gone on the no-CTM diet.

For a player that is soooo flawed and known weaknesses Bell should be easily one of the worst looking players yet that ain’t the case doesn’t even make sense to judge a 21-22 year old that is still learning and growing especially when all he has done to date is impress

Thank you.

Offense seems to be struggling all camp and in the preseason and now against the Pats in joint practice. You expect to the defense to be ahead but still concerning we are struggling as badly as we are.

Hurts also has looked bad what 6ints so far in 2 days of joint practice with the Pats. Not trying to overreacted to much this early but have to hope we start to show something on the O side in the coming weeks even if it just glimpses

Two things:

1) They are learning on the fly a new Offensive scheme. Learning is often most effectively done by making mistakes and understanding why they happened. As they say, never up, never in.

2) as I said before, the problem we as fans face in making any evaluations, much less coming to knee-jerk conclusions is that we have no idea what the focus or objective of the coaches chosen drills/plays is, so expecting to reach some kind of informed outcome is just silly. The primary focus of the coaches is to put players in competitive situations with some structure so the coaches can get good tape for evaluations. The outcome of each respective play is pretty irrelevant. The process of the play trumps the outcome.

The 45 is no different that any other defense.

It works for a year and then offenses learn how to attack it.

Much like happened with the tush push. It works but not nearly as effectively

Now I'm not making a big deal out of this, but something a bit weird. We have a TE named Stone Smartt. He is lightweight for a TE. He is a convert. He was a QB then WR now converted to TE. With the departure of Wilson he is basically the same size as he was. We also know that before Wilson's injury that Hurts was beginning to trust this kid from the slot. We can also assume Darius Cooper could start in the slot and then Lemon once he gets up to speed. But could this Smartt kid play a slot role in certain situations, such as close to the GL? I know little about him, but his size could dictate he could be a RZ threat. He could earn a PS spot as either TE4 or WR6/7. Anyone know about this guy??? He obviously won't be making the team as a TE, but could be an emergency one or in a Wilson like BU role. Just a poor guy who seems caught between positions. We know injuries can take their toll and this guy seems like he would be nice just to "have around" on the PS. Thoughts?

BTW-have never really been a Ship fan but he had a nice P2 vs the Pats. Showed enough to keep himself as RB3. Still time for another to supplant him although it seems like an uphill battle at this point. IDK how long Bark wants to play. Another good year and maybe he hangs them up to enjoy his family. I wouldn't blame the guy. That would set Tank up as our RB1 and I believe he could fill that role just fine. His only crime is being behind Barkley(which is certainly understandable)

Johnny Wilson waived has to be a pretty good sign for someone like Moore who has had a really strong camp so far apparently

Shipley can be excellent in the passing game. So having an O benefits him. Was hearing Tank actually doing decent picking up the passing game as well. Not known as a receiving back that I knew of. Saquan not natural pass catching hands. But just get the ball to any of them and let them create.

YAC Creation plays are on the horizon. Moore I believe can really do well with them also. Hollywood possibly as well. Rumors are Hollywood on the edge of the roster one way or another.

Hollywood that speed deep strike option. Figured that’s why Quez was brought back as well. Seemed like something Mannion was looking to target as a need to run his O. Not sure either actually will fulfill that role up to standard.

Speed guy is a crucial element. Doesn’t need to produce large stats. Just need a guy respected enough as a weapon to stretch the D.

JW was an injury boot

YAC Creation…..Deep Go….expect Wicks runs plenty of Out routes. Smitty has a nice repertoire. Goedert fits several areas as well as our number two passing target. Obviously add in hopefully a real strong rushing attack. Need all these to challenge and stretch the D for the others.

Probably see Darius in the slot while Lemon waits to catch up

Plan is stash him on IR because he wasn’t making the roster. My two cents. Could be wrong…it happens. But very very likely.
